Philantropy in Western culture. French civil society and nonprofit sector

Tato práce zkoumá místo filantropie v západní kultuře, vymezuje oblast neziskového sektoru a na závěr představuje dva příklady občanského sektoru, v České republice a ve Francii. Francie je v našich podmínkách obecně považována za zemi s rozvinutou občanskou společností a během první republiky byla pro rodící se československou demokracii velkým zdrojem inspirace. Navíc o podobě francouzského neziskového sektoru existuje jen velmi omezené množství informací v českém jazyce, a proto považuji jeho analýzu za přínosnou. Téma filantropie a neziskového sektoru v západní společnosti jsem se snažila uchopit v celé jeho šíři a propojit poznatky z různých oborů. Ekonomické hledisko jsem shledala pro potřeby této práce jako marginální, a proto bylo záměrně upozaděno. V první kapitole této práce je nastíněn historický vývoj občanského sektoru, který je pro pochopení jeho současné podoby klíčový. Důraz je kladen na specifika francouzské historie a naznačen je také vývoj v českých zemích. Druhá kapitola pojednává o fenoménu filantropie v lidské společnosti s důrazem na vnímání dobročinnosti ve třech monoteistických náboženstvích - křesťanství, islámu a judaismu. Předmětem třetí kapitoly je občanská společnost, neziskový sektor a sociální ekonomie, jejich definice, struktura a vzájemné vztahy. Poslední kapitola si klade...

Německá univerzita v Praze, od roku 1939 Německá Karlova univerzita, prošla v letech 1938/39-1945 obdobím, na jehož počátku stojí Mnichovská dohoda, resp. vstup německých vojsk na české území a které se uzavírá porážkou nacistického Německa ve druhé světové válce a tím mj. i zánikem samotné Německé univerzity. Je zřejmé, že toto období přineslo univerzitě jako instituci, vyučujícím i studentům velké změny. Hlavní změnou byla orientace na nacistické Německo. Tato orientace se jistě musela projevit voblasti oficiální univerzitní správy. Dokladem toho byla například postupná arizace univerzity nebo vytváření nových vědeckých oborů souvisejících s potřebami nacistického režimu (východoevropská studia, národní psychologie atd.). Otázkou však zůstává, zda tato orientace byla nevyhnutelná, tj. zda politické změny znamenaly i proměnu vědecké práce vyučujících a studentů. Jako pramen k zodpovězení této otázky budou sloužit disertační práce studentů historie filozofické fakulty Německé univerzity. Disertační práce byly podkladem pro připuštění k rigorózní zkoušce a následně k získání doktorského titulu. Při jejich zpracovávání se nabízí hned několik otázek. Kdo jsou jejich autoři, jaká jsou jejich témata, obsah, formální náležitosti, lze je např. srovnat s formou prací dnešních? Je důležité zabývat se také tím, zda...

Informační architektura webových stránek a aplikací a její role v době Webu 2.0

In contemporary times internet plays without doubts, a key role in our life. It is one of the most effective information channels of modern economy and a powerful tool of citizen society. Great number of new web pages is created daily and the competition is becoming stronger. This Diploma Thesis is dealing with the information architecture of web pages and applications an its significance for projects of Web2.0 In our territory, "information architecture" is relatively new term and therefore, the first part of the thesis endeavor to define it. It attempts to emphasize that the web page is not a pretty picture only but it must contain well-designed communication of the goals of the page creation. For attaining them, it is essential to define precisely the expectation at the very beginning. On the other hand, it is also necessary to have on mind the web users who opens the page for to fulfill their specific needs and with their own expectations. Web page therefore should meet both the goals of the designers and expectations of the users. Further part of the introductory chapter deals with the history of the information architecture having its roots in the sphere of the information design. Beside other topics, there is discussed the work of Ladislav Sutnar, who significantly contributed to the development of this topic. The following chapter deals with the process of the information architecture design proper. It is not a detailed instruction for web page creation, but rather a description of individual steps and factors able to influence substantially the web page presentation success. The last part is devoted to the recently frequently referred phenomenon of Web 2.0. There was attempted to describe its principles and answer the question whether it is only an empty word used as attractive label for promotion of certain projects or really a new direction in the web development. Then there is discussed the influence of Web 2.0 on the information architecture and whether this topic is for its design necessary at all.

Schoenstatt spirituality

SCHOENSTATT SPIRITUALITY This thesis introduces the Schoenstatt movement and its spirituality. It explains the concepts of spirituality and spiritual theology and describes the spirituality as a practical implementation of our everyday experience of the relationship with God. The second chapter describes the history of the Schoenstatt movement in relation to the life story of its founder. In the third part of the thesis, the structure of the movement is explained and the main (fourt) part represents the fundamental principles of the Schoenstatt spirituality. The purpose of this chapter is to show the interconnection of the founder's life and the spirituality. The final section of the thesis addresses the history and work of the Schoenstatt movement in the Czech Republic. William Faulkner's Light in August: constructing race in the community

When William Faulkner was born on September 25, 1897, he entered the times of the high tide of racial extremism that marked the post-Reconstruction era and the beginning of the 20th century. The small domestic world of the Falkner family William lived in as a small boy also afforded him contact with racial differences, most memorably through the servant of the Falkner family - Caroline Barr. This was a harmonious contact. The Falkner boys called Caroline "Mammy" Callie; "she cooked, she cleaned, and she cared for them but most of all the boys liked her stories - of animals in the woods, ghosts, and the 'Old Days' of slavery. The boys loved her dearly" (Williamson, William Faulkner and Southern History 153). However, William was soon confronted with the other side of the racially divided world. This must have happened most powerfully in the year 1908, when Oxford, Mississippi witnessed the lynching of Nelse Patton, "a black convict, but also [ ... ] a 'trusty'" (Williamson, William Faulkner and Southern History 157) who was allowed to run errands all over the town. Different approaches to understanding the subject of information science

This bachelor thesis deals with a problem of definition o f the term information and of the information science. Information science is related to the interpretation o f the information very closely. This paper shows the four main approaches to the subject o f information science. Those approaches are philosophical, computer, biologial and cybernetic. This allows to make an all-around image o f the range o f this subject and it also points out the need o f further specification of this field of study.

Vývoj českého kapitálového trhu a jeho regulace

Bakalářská práce pojednává o vývoji českého kapitálového, legislativy a dozorčích orgánů v České republice. Je zaměřena na období od sametové revoluce po současnost, kdy ekonomika prochází procesem transformace. Začátek první kapitoly je věnován krátkému nahlédnutí do historie a následně vývoji od počátku 90. let až do dnešní doby. Závěr kapitoly se zabývá fungováním organizovaných trhů v ČR v současnosti. Druhá kapitola shrnuje poznatky z oblasti regulace a dohledu nad kapitálovým trhem. Je zde popsán vývoj legislativy a hlavní dozorčí orgány. Poslední kapitola se věnuje pohledu na středoevropský region a srovnání s podobnými trhy v postkomunistických zemích. Cílem práce je poskytnout komplexní pohled na události, které provázely oživení kapitálového trhu v České republice, vysvětlení systému obchodování a vytvoření přehledu o situaci v podobných ekonomikách v rámci střední Evropy.

The aim of this thesis was to describe a coherent image of Czech commercial audience research history beyond 1989. We focused on substantial events in the field, the structure of its leading players and the methodology used. We can say there is no major difference between European (worldwide) audience research and the Czech one. Tato práce popisuje a analyzuje jeden z nevýznamnější mezinárodních festivalů v oblasti cestovního ruchu-Tourfilm. Práce se zaměřuje na popis realizace a organizace festivalu, jeho fungování, propagaci a spolufinancování. Okrajově také nastiňuje bohatou historii festivalu a zdůvodňuje jeho zasazení do Karlových Varů. Analyzuje současnou situaci festivalu, trendy v jeho vývoji a také zodpovídá otázky týkající se jeho budoucnosti.
