The neuropsychological developmental screening NES - a pilot study of its applicability in the Czech context

The neuropsychological developmental screening NES was created for German pediatric practice and allows to quickly assess the developmental state of children between 2 and 24 months of age. At 2-4 and 5-7 months, the test assesses regulation of posture and movement, fine motor control, visual perception and cognitive skills, at 9-12 months visual perception tasks are replaced by exploration behavior tasks, while at 16-19 and 22-24 months posture and movement regulation, visuomotor skills, receptive and expressive language, and cognitive skills are evaluated. The aim of this thesis was to introduce the screening and test its applicability in the context of Czech Republic. The theoretical part summarizes current knowledge on child development in the first two years, specifies the term developmental delay and discusses methodological problems associated with developmental diagnostics. Lastly, the theoretical grounding of the NES is described. In the empirical part, a Czech language version of the NES was created and subsequently administered to 50 Czech children. The Civil Religion of the USA and its Perspectives in the EU

This work is intent on the problem of religious elements present in modem political systems. Its thesis is based on a presumption that religion and its consequences, is still one of the main sources of thinking even in such secularized area as the political space. I assume that the religious elements are present in ideologies as expressions of believe and longing for perfection, which can be reached in the frame of future man existence. That's why the ideologies are called secular religions, because they place the man's salvation to existing people's world, when they try to invent the best - even perfect - systems of social order and policy. That means that they secularize purposes to which the traditional religions (like for example Christianity) try to reach. Ideologies transfer these purposes, to which they refer to their values, to this world, which people recognize as real. It means that they do them "imanent." Transfer of stylistic components of political speeches in simultaneous interpreting: research on French-Czech documents

Tématem této diplomové práce Je stylová složka řečnických projevů politického zaměření a problematika jejího převodu při simultánním tlumočení z francouzštiny do češtiny. Práce je teoreticko empirická. V první části se pokusíme definovat a charakterizovat zkoumaný žánr s ohledem na faktory, které mají vliv na průběh mezijazykového převodu. Zaměříme se zejména na pragmatické aspekty řečnických projevů a na možnost existence rozdílů mezi nimi v závislosti na jazyce a na kulturně jazykové příslušnosti řečníka. Vycházíme z předpokladu, že mezi francouzštinou a češtinou existují rozdíly ve způsobu vyjádření subjektivních postojů autora prostřednictvím stylisticky příznakových, expresivních jazykových prostředků. Domníváme se, že ve francouzských řečnických projevech se expresivní a emocionální složka projevuje častěji a s větší intenzitou. Projevy českých řečníků jsou naopak stylisticky neutrálnější. Naším cílem je tuto hypotézu ověřit. Repertoár prostředků subjektivně motivované aktualizace výrazu je velmi bohatý, od prostředků mimojazykových (posturika, proxemika) přes parajazykové (intonace, melodie) až po verbální. Transfer and interpretation. Expatriation of Czechoslovak citizens of German birth 1945-1947 and its accounts in daily newspaper

The aim of my thesis is to analyze the transfer of the Gennan people as covered by the daily press, which was both partisian and officially considered not to be under the influence of the political parties. Among such newspapers were Právo lidu, Svobodné Slovo, Rudé právo, Lidová demokracie, Svobodné noviny, Práce, Zemědělsé noviny, Svobodné československo (Obrana lidu), Mladá fronta and Národní osvobození. In fact, most of these "independent" newspapers were under control of the Communist Party. Resettlement of the Germans was one of the most important issues discussed by the Czech cabinet after the W orld War II. The transfer of the Gennans was obviousl y a genuine wish of the maj ority of the Czech people. However, following the first revolutionary months, a variety of opinions was being expressed on this issue. The Communists wanted to use the resettlement as a political instrument. Naturally, they were in favor of a total transfer of the Germans. On the other hand, other political powers expressed more moderate views, such as the catholic People's Party. The debate was broadly covered by the newspapaers. The media offered greater variety of perspective. Chrudimské noviny - regional weekly and political changes 1938-1942

The central theme of this project was the influence of political change on the contents of the regional weekly Chrudimske noviny published from the beginning of 1938 to October of 1942. Above all I have observated its manifestation in the main political article using content and language analysis as a method of my work. Firstly I outlined political, economical and social situation of the period. I also reffered to the censorship and media legislation influential to the work of journalists and to the establishment, organization and background of the weekly as well as persons who had influenced its contents. The main analysis was divided into the three main parts in accordance with three historical periods determined by distinctive political regimes (January 1938- September 1938, October 1938 - 15th March 1939, March - October 1942). As body of texts for the analysis itself served the most significant publisher policy expressing text in the examined periodical - the editorial. I started the analysis by defining several most significant areas covered by the weekly in each above mentioned period (eg. problem of nationhood, the czech-german relations, defense policy, local election...) and by narrowing down the editorials dealing with one of these topics. Political Aspeckts of Local Government – Comunal Elections and Preferential Voting

The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. Theoretical part introduces and explains basic concepts of local politics, with detail characteristic of municipalities, municipal elections and preferential voting. This part is also concerned with research of local politics by published expert articles. This part is researched through the legislation and political expert literature.
The practical part is focused on demographicaland socioeconomical description of district Benešov. The main part of thesis is the analysis of the voting results in the local elections of the municipalities in the district Benešov in 2014, particularly the preferred votes of candidates aspiring to gain a political seat with a mandate .

Analysis of Effects of Autonomy an the Isle of Man

The work deals with contemporary issues of the autonomous status of the Isle of Man with the UK and the European Union, furthermore, with the rest of the world. The basis for the work is the historical development of the Island simultaneously with present changes on the Island. Here we can mention the revival of the Manx language, which has its origins in Gaelic and ranks among one of the Celtic languages. The next important point in terms of autonomy is the distribution of tax revenues between Great Britain and the Isle of Man. The Isle of Man has historically been a very active place that has experienced a variety of different rulers and powers. This fact is today commemorated by the ubiquitous Triskelion, the Manx language revival and the collective feeling that the residents do not belong to anyone foreign domination. The aim of the work is to bring the closer look at historical evolution, current political and economic situation and finally a field research among locals and examining their attitudes, opinions and relations with the Island.

The influence of legislative factors on mortgage crisis in USA

This bachelor thesis is focused on selected legislative factors occuring from 1977 to 2004 connected with the mortgage crisis which started in 2007. In the first part, I am summing up economical, political and in a nutshell the social environment background of the problem. The main aim of the thesis is to organize the chosen legislative factors according to their origins and evaluating their impact. I am coming to a conclusion that the support of an unvisionary growth was an indispensable part of the crisis which came out in the mortgage sector.
