The Young and Their Lifestyle. Questionnaire Survey among High School Students.
Wesselská, Věra ; Kotlářová, Jana (referee) ; Klusoňová, Hana (advisor)
The aim of the submitted diploma thesis was to assess the attitudes of the secondary school students to the use of medicaments and the abuse of legal and illegal drugs and, at the same time, to assess a possible connexion with the psychical problems occurring in Opava region. The study forms a part of an international project monitoring young people's lifestyle in Europe. It was performed with the help of anonymous questionnaires, which were taken over from the Italian university degli Studi Camerino. In total 135 students of the third and fourth years of the grammar schools in Vítkov and Opava participated in this study during the school year 2006/2007. Out of them, there were 70.4 % of girls and 29.6 % of boys. Their average age was 17.6 years. Students consider the recreation use of illegal drugs the most dangerous way of behaviour, whereas the smoking and the drinking of alcohol were considered the least dangerous activities. In total 91.1 % of students used some medicaments during the last year, mostly analgesics and medicaments against infection. Almost 15 % select medicaments on their own. Most of pupils (88 %) believes that the use of medicaments may be beneficial on one hand, but that it can become also harmful. About 20 % of respondents used alcohol in combination with some medicaments,...

The work deals with the innovation of the students of second-stage primary school teaching preparation in the field of ICT implementation into the didactic students preparation. It features the information science basic output of the society in the early 21 century, the issue of computer and IT literacy, the media education and evaluates the importance of school libraries and IT centres. Furthermore the work interprets the basic curicular documents such as IT education output and focuses on updating trends in the students of teaching preparation and on teachers' further training in the field of ICT in education. Through the questionnaire search among the students of University in Hradec Kralove, Faculty of Education, the insufficient students preparation to use the new IT technology didactic application into education as a vital didactic teachers' skill today was found out.

Vliv zdrojů financování na kvalitu terciárního vzdělávání
Jedlička, Roman ; Chytilová, Helena (advisor) ; Pichaničová, Ludmila (referee)
This paper examines impact of the volume and structure of expenditure on quality of tertiary education expressed by the number of elite universities. The thesis also critically evaluates the academic rankings and their methodology. With econometric analysis based on data of OECD countries and partner countries I was able to prove that the total volume of expenditure positively affects the quality of tertiary education. When evaluating structure of expenditures, different results emerged. While the private expenditures positively affect the quality of tertiary education, the impact of the public expenditures on the quality of tertiary education has not been detected. Possible causes of these results are discussed consequently.

Post-vaccination response in patients with diGeorge syndrome
Petříčková, Michaela ; Skalická, Anna (advisor) ; Šedivá, Anna (referee)
DiGeorge syndrome is an autosomal dominantly inherited disease with an incidence of 1: 4 000. Its distinctive phenotypic manifestations are collectively referred to as CATCH 22. Its holders can cause serious clinical problems. One of the primary syndrome congenital deficits of cellular immunity from an immunological point of view. According to the severity of immunodeficiency DiGeorge syndrome can distinguish complete and partial. Patients due to improper development of thymic T cell immunity has affected. The work deals with the humoral immunity of patients with DiGeorge syndrome, which should theoretically not be affected. It is mainly focused on post-vaccination antibodies and their dynamics, and immunoglobulins A, G, E and M. Monitoring patients from the database of patients with DiGeorge syndrome examined at the Institute of Immunology, 2nd Charles University Medical Faculty and University Hospital Motol in the years 1995 - 2011 shows that post-vaccination response in DiGeorge syndrome is not significantly affected. Abnormal levels of immunoglobulins were observed fundamental observed.

Use of Gamification to increase motivation of students in academic education
Češková, Anna ; Očko, Petr (advisor) ; Šisler, Vít (referee)
This paper deals with the issue of gamification and its implementation in the Charles University Information System, by focusing on students. It describes the principles of gamification in relation to user needs. Furthermore, it analyses the process of consciousness, motivation, volition and flow. This paper presents personality typologies in the context of motivation and game elements. It works with Myers-Briggs types and Keirsey's temperaments. It contains a ranking of gamification elements that is based on the level of motivation in relation to personalities. It evaluates the educational system in the Czech Republic from the point of view of the use of gamification elements and focus on different types of personalities. The main part of the thesis creates a concept of the implementation of gamification elements in the Charles University Information System and gamification of a thesis. [Author abstract].

Financing of public universities in the Czech Republic
Pešíková, Natálie ; Tichá, Milena (advisor) ; Stracený, Josef (referee)
v AJ The thesis addresses funding of public universities in the Czech Republic. It describes, analyzes and assesses the current method of university funding from public and other resources and points out the most important issues in this area. A part of the study is devoted to the topic of introducing tuition fees as one of the possible methods of students' participation on the university's funding. The study provides arguments for and against such measure and proposes a solution on how to apply it in the Czech Republic. In relation to that, the focus is also posed on financial aid to students, specifically student savings for education and student loans on tuition fees without which the introduction of such measure is difficult to imagine. Criteria which the system providing loans to students should account for are considered and further other possible alternatives of the system are introduced and assessed. The final section presents several possibilities from which public universities may obtain funding beyond the basic framework of the state budget.

Old People and new media
Lacinová, Eva ; Wolák, Radim (advisor) ; Jirák, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with problems of media literacy of older people. Its main goal is to capture the way seniors can reflect and evaluate new media. It does not attempt to provide specific and universally valid reply to observed problems, but the intention of the work is rather to understand phenomena and conditions of the problems. The text is therefore divided into three main sections: theoretical, practical and analytical. In the theoretical part key information and concepts associated with communication, media literacy, and age and growing old are introduced. Special attention is paid to the description of relationship between seniors and new media. The practical part is devoted to qualitative research. Information about the way older respondents use and evaluate new media is acquired through semi-standardized depth interviews. The analytical part results from the findings presented in the previous two sections. It serves not only as major conclusions of the work but also as notes and recommendation for further studies or researches. All relevant and essential facts are summarized in the conclusion of the paper.

Dust-UV interaction
Nouzák, Libor ; Pavlů, Jiří (advisor) ; Žilavý, Peter (referee)
Title: Dust - UV interaction Author: Libor Nouzak Department: Department of Surface and Plasma Science Supervisor: RNDr. Jiri Pavlu, Ph.D. Supervisor's e-mail address: jiri.pavlu@mff.cuni.cz Abstract: Micrometer objects (dust grains) are an integral part of the universe. As other objects in the plasma, these dust grains charge to potencial close to the potencial of the plasmas (in this case, interplanetary plasma). In the universe, the photoelectric charging dust grain dominantes all other charging processes. In general, the resulting charge of dust grain is given by a balance of all processes, which haven't been mostly jet theoretically described. In our laboratory, we are simulating space conditions and measure resulting charge and his changes on a single separated dust grain. This work is partly focused to UV source application and to finishing its electronics, and partly on test measurements and model calculations, connected with newly built experiment (e.g., to estimate effects of backgound currents, surfaces, and the geometry of the dust trap electrodes). The work is finished by the first measurements of glass grain charge under electron bombardment with provisional detection optics. Obtained results are compared with previous measurements on the same type of dust grains. Key words: dust, dusty plasma,...
