Pospíšilová, Barbora ; Damohorský, Milan (advisor) ; Stejskal, Vojtěch (referee)
9. SUMMARY Delictual liability of natural persons in protection of the environment The purpose of my thesis is to analyse actual legal regulations of delictual liability of natural persons in protection of the environment. Delictual liability in protection of the environment includes a criminal liability and an administrative liability. The liability is one of legal instruments which the state uses for the protection of the environment and means that person who committed a breach of an obligation is obliged to endure appropriate consequences. The reason for my research is the fact that people quite frequently breach their duties, thus consequently endanger or harm the environment. I wanted to know more about the legal regulation concerning this theme. The thesis is composed of seven chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of delictual liability of natural persons in protection of the environment. Chapter One is introductory and defines basic terminology used in the thesis. Chapter Two addresses the issue of legal liability in general. Chapter Tree investigates delictual liability in general and delictual liability of natural persons in protection of the environment. Chapter Four is about criminal liability in protection of the environment. The chapter is subdivided into six parts. Part one...

The aim of this thesis is to document volunteer program s at children's clinics. It attempts to synthesize different people's opinions about volunteering and to highlight the importance ofthe activity. The thesis has two parts: theoretic and empiric. The first part, theoretic, is focused on basic terms, function, and principles of volunteering. The main point is to speciry the activities ofvolunteers in children's clinics. Special attention is given to a program called "The Volunteers in Hospitals", which is aimed at monitoring the influence of illness on a child' s mental development in addition to the impact on his or her friends and relatives. It also tries to define the basic set of skills for those who volunteer for this program. The aim of the second part is to learn the attitudes of volunteers and their reasons for volunteering by means of a questionnaire. The goal is to leam how they prepare themselves for volunteering, to exarnine their sociological and pedagogical background, and how volunteering affects their social life. A second questionnaire asks volunteer coordinators about prograrns at the hospitals they work at. In addition, it asks about benefits offered to volunteers. Finally, coordinators give their opinion about volunteering. Despite the fact that volunteering is increasing in our...

Martinásková, Marie ; Mlejnková, Lena (advisor) ; Jarolímková, Liběna (referee)
School catering is one form of public catering. People who work in sphere of school catering have to observe very strict rules of sanitary code and to follow conventions of rational nutrition. Nutritious food is important for young people and their growth. The experience with the school dining should be very useful for the child. He should learn how to intercommon and how to follow healthy lifestyle. In the last five years, fewer children eat school lunches in Czech Republic. This fact is caused by decrease of children in elementary schools. We used a questionnaire to analyze school dining in the elementary school FZŠ Barrandov II. The results were satisfying. Three-quarter of children from this school uses services of school dining and the major part is content with it. The analysis will be delivered immediately to the caterer. Hopefully, it will be used for improvement of the school kitchen services.

Impacts of drug trade in select states of Latin America
Kmetíková, Nina ; Písař, Pavel (advisor) ; Lipka, David (referee)
In the introduction of my thesis, devoted to the drug trade in select states of Latin America, I will address the topic of cocaine and its history. This is important for understanding the significance of the drug in the world, and -- especially in Latin America -- for comprehending that in these countries cocaine has such a strong tradition that attempts to prevent the cultivation of coca and subsequent trade with the drug will probably never succeed. I will further examine the economic and social situations in countries of Latin America and emphasize the fact that people there often have no other alternative than to engage in criminal activities, again for the most part related to cocaine. I will evaluate anti-drug policies in select Latin American countries and their effectiveness -- or rather ineffectiveness -- and conversely attempt to describe how great an influence the narco-mafia has on the economics and politics of given states and on their representatives. I intend to focus my thesis primarily on three Latin American states: Colombia, as the largest supplier of cocaine; Mexico, which is the primary transit country, through which drugs travel from Colombia to the United States, and Brazil, where children's gangs connected with drugs form.

Bareš, Jiří ; Jakubec, Ivan (advisor) ; Efmertová, Marcela (referee) ; Čechura, Jaroslav (referee)
Glass work is one of such branches, which affected the regional development and general character of not only Jablonec region, but also the whole N othern Czechia. The very inception of glass work in this region is strongly connected with German collonisation. People, who came to this Czech border area, were originally from relatively crowded German regions. Such suitable natural conditions as e. g. deep forests, mountain rivers, it all made glass work possible. On this base, metallurgy followed by glass workshops, especially centred on abrasive technologies. In Nothern Czechia, there are vety exhausting climate conditions; the soil bonity is very poor as well. These facts influenced the economic structure and activities of its inhabitants. All mentioned factors made people not only to work in glass industry, but also in textile workshops. It means, they worked in the two most important economic branches of N othern Czechia. Prom the turn of the 18th and 19th century, key changes in glass work came into being in that time in Jizerské hory region. This period was characterised by the system of distributed manufacture, based on protoindustrialisation. A wide range of goods started to be produced here. It has an umbrella term "Jablonec goods", involving many sorts of fine and utilitarian products made mostly...

Aldous Huxley's early novels of ideas: from Crome Yellow to Those Barren Leaves
Renner, Luboš ; Hilský, Martin (referee) ; Procházka, Martin (advisor)
The literary reputation of Aldous Huxley, the novelist, has scarcely ever been as good as that of Aldous Huxley, the essayist. In fact, as some critics claim, Huxley's novels have the crucial flaw of not being proper novels at all - they are (the critics say) 1 actually essays, some of them more skillfully dramatized than others. Whether the novels really suffer from their essayistic quality is a question to be answered by the reader; certain it is, though, that mixing the two genres, the novel and the essay, was Huxley's intention: As he once acknowledged in an interview, his aim as a novelist was ~to arrive, technically, at a perfect fusion of the novel and the essay"z. What are the main features of a Huxleyan essayistic novel? First , it is scarcity of plo t. In most Huxley' s novels nothing ever happens: people come and go, they meet and part, they (try to) make love, and - most importantly - they talk. This is, of course, true especially of Huxley's early conversation novels, a late novel like Ap e and E s s en c e probably being the most noticeable exception. Another aspect of the essayistic novel follows on the first. The scarce plot does not lead to any overall des i g n ; the novels end, as it were, in the middle of 'action'; there seems to be no single 'message' to be arrived at. Again, this...

The beginning stage of the party system formation in Ukraine: from the origin of the opposition movements to the parliamentary elektions in 1994
Bilanyn, Inna ; Zilynskyj, Bohdan (advisor) ; Kubát, Michal (referee)
The policy of Gorbachov's Perestroika stimulated the emancipation of soviet society. At the same time it also launched the process of the political life democratization - different opposition associations and political parties started to appear. An impulse for the rise of the opposition movement in Ukraine was connected to the tragedy of Chernobyl, which influenced public and political life in the country. Many ecological and cultural organizations, which occurred right after the Chernobyl tragedy, became the base for the mass Ukrainian opposition movement named Rukh few years after. From the very start it was just the organization which gathered together people with different political views. In a few years Rukh became the strongest political subject in the opposition to the ruling power and gave the foundation for the rise of the new political parties. Despite the fact that the Communist party of Ukraine lost its absolute power and control over society, the sympathy to the left ideology among Ukrainian population still remained strong. New left-wing parties began to appear in the political stage soon after the prohibition of the Communist party. The forbidden party served as the base for newly appeared parties with the leftist ideology (similar as Rukh for national oriented parties). Renewed Ukrainian...

Transfer and interpretation. Expatriation of Czechoslovak citizens of German birth 1945-1947 and its accounts in daily newspaper
Klimeš, David ; Bednařík, Petr (referee) ; Kubů, Eduard (advisor)
The aim of my thesis is to analyze the transfer of the Gennan people as covered by the daily press, which was both partisian and officially considered not to be under the influence of the political parties. Among such newspapers were Právo lidu, Svobodné Slovo, Rudé právo, Lidová demokracie, Svobodné noviny, Práce, Zemědělsé noviny, Svobodné československo (Obrana lidu), Mladá fronta and Národní osvobození. In fact, most of these "independent" newspapers were under control of the Communist Party. Resettlement of the Germans was one of the most important issues discussed by the Czech cabinet after the W orld War II. The transfer of the Gennans was obviousl y a genuine wish of the maj ority of the Czech people. However, following the first revolutionary months, a variety of opinions was being expressed on this issue. The Communists wanted to use the resettlement as a political instrument. Naturally, they were in favor of a total transfer of the Germans. On the other hand, other political powers expressed more moderate views, such as the catholic People's Party. The debate was broadly covered by the newspapaers. The media offered greater variety of perspective. There was a strong censorship by the establishment as well as by the journalists themselves, and no one dared to stand against the Košický program...

Pavlík, Petr ; Oborilová, Mária (advisor) ; Kábrt, Tomáš (referee)
The objective of this bachelor thesis is to identify consumer in the insurance market, to assess the factors that influence the formation of its behaviour and other determinants which influ-ence its actual insurance need. This work is focused exclusively on the Czech insurance market. A total of 106 people responded to my online questionnaire. It was surveyed that life insurance is influenced by age, the highest level of education and whether the person has a partner or husband/wife. Property and income is important factor to the non-life insurance. It can be concluded that there is still great potential for new contract and the fact that costumers prefer personal communication when negotiating longer-term contracts.
