Kinetic determination of nitrites with spectrophotometric detection
Vašíčková, Pavla ; Nesměrák, Karel (advisor) ; Rychlovský, Petr (referee)
Title: Kinetic determination of nitrites with spectrophotometric detection Annotation: The proposal and optimization of the kinetic determination of nitrites in water samples is the aim of this bachelor thesis. The method is based on the ability of nitrites to catalyze the oxidation of toluidine blue by bromate in acidic media. The course of the reaction is monitored by spectrophotometrically, using a decrease of the absorbance band at 653 nm in the constant period of time from the beginning of the reaction. The dual-chanel manifolds FIA apparatus was proposed and optimized. The calibration dependency in the range of 0,05-1,00 mg ml-1 was measured. The instrumental limit of detection of 0,038 mg ml-1 and limit of quantification of 0,125 mg ml-1 were calculated. The method was applied on real sample of river water. Key words: nitrites, flow-injection analysis, kinetic catalytic methods

Autophagy in the heart
Šprláková, Katarína ; Hlaváčková, Markéta (advisor) ; Tomšů, Eva (referee)
Currently, it is growing evidence that autophagy is involved in the prevention of various diseases, which of course also includes heart diseases. This thesis is therefore aimed at clarifying the role of autophagy in the heart, especially during ischemia and subsequent reperfusion. Autophagy is a physiological cellular process by which the cell maintains homeostasis by eliminating long-lived proteins and damaged organelles. The role of autophagy during ischemia/reperfusion in the heart is complex. Predominantly it functions as a pro-survival pathway, because it protects the heart from ischemia or hypoxia. However, when triggered over, which happens during reperfusion, it may lead to cell death. In the heart autophagy is activated in response to various stimuli, such as decrease in ATP and subsequent activation of AMPK, protein Bnip3, reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, the opening of mitochondrial permeability transition pore, endoplasmic reticulum stress or unfolded protein response.

While the practical part refers to the case study; the examinations used and the effectiveness of the therapy with the approaches used. Methods: The practical part is based on a 55 year old female, in a state of 2 year post fall on the left hip who now complains of low back and left hip joint pain. The study consisted of physiotherapeutic approaches for initial kinesiological examination, followed by 5 therapy sessions lasting an hour each, and a final kinesiological examination. All methods used were non-invasive. Results: Progress was very much markable in the course of 5 days of therapy. The patient's pain level at the left hip joint and low back pain (LBP) decreased. The therapies used have shown to be very successful concerning my patient's diagnosis. Conclusion: The patient felt the improvements and after 5 sessions, her goal's have been met, and that was to decrease the pain she felt at rest, during sleep. The...

Fenclová, Eva ; Konrád, Ota (advisor) ; Mlsna, Petr (referee)
The aim of this study is to analyze the German approach to the issue of immigrants' integration. I look at this problem from the point of view of a new legislative framework. This work should show how immigration laws influenced local integration policy. The law had great ambitions to improve the situation regarding the integration of immigrants. I am trying to discover its qualities but also to identify its drawbacks. First, there is outlined a problematic situation that led to the adoption of this law. There is described the situation and circumstances under which the law originated. Since the very first measure dealing with issues of integration, I show how specific solutions of supporting the integration of immigrants the law offers. I analyzed the form of a pro-active integration policy, which was established by this Act. The greatest attention was paid to linguistic integration. The Act established partially compulsory integration courses to promote the integration. Finally, I try to show the problems that Germany must deal with concerning the application of the statutory provisions. I try to show what problems are associated with the implementation of integration courses. Based on the analysis of immigration law, I try to prove which concept of integration policy towards which Germany is...

Comparison of students' performance at the beginning and upon completion of their simultaneous interpretation training course
Renner, Jakub ; Čeňková, Ivana (referee) ; Jettmarová, Zuzana (referee)
The thesis aims to di scover any possible relat ionships between the capaci ty of working memory and the abi l i ty to interpret features of modal i ty. Based on this aim, the basic concepts determining the approach to the above quest ion are out l ined (working memory, modal i ty) . An experiment is conducted which on a populat ion of nine subject s invest igates the development of the capacity of working memory (memory span test ) and the abi l i ty to interpret features of modal i ty during the course of interpretat ion t raining (simul taneous interpretat ion of an Engl ish text wi th high incidence of modal i ty). On a populat ion of three subjects a fol low-up experiment invest igates the capaci ty of working memory and the abi l i ty to interpret features of modal i ty of experienced interpreters. Based on an analysis, evaluat ion and stat ist ical processing of the experimental resul ts, the thesis determines that working memory capaci ty and the abil i ty to interpret features of modal i ty may be related. The quant i tat ive research is supplemented by a discussion moving away f rom a purely pos i t ivist paradigm towards the interpretat ive (const ruct ivist ) paradigm; this discussion then out l ines problemat ic areas where further research could cont ribute towards a bet ter understanding of...
