Dramatist and performer Werner Schwab. A contribution to Austrian postmodernism

The thesis gives a comprehensive picture of Werner Schwab, Austrian playwright and performer. He ranked among the most performed German-speaking authors at the time of his death in 1994. The main objective of this work, whose basis lies in Schwab's dramatic production, is to provide a comprehensive monographic study. The thesis deals not only with the dramas, but also with their relationship to the theatrical production of Thomas Bernhard and Elfriede Jelinek. The chapter on the author's personal life is followed by chapters "Postdramatic Theatre", "Theatre of Cruelty", and "Folk Play", where you can find the answer to the question of the place of Schwab's drama in the overall concept of literature at the end of the 20th century. Particular attention is paid to the unique language usage he developed, called "Schwabisch" after the author.

V nekolika poslednich letech se v nemecky mluvicich zemich rozvinul smer tzv. "Migrationsli tera tur" (dale migracni li tera tura) . Ackoliv v sedmdesatych letech vychazel ze starsiho fenomenu tzv. "Gastarbei ter li teratur", navazuje na ni dnes j iz jen velmi volne. Lze ho zhruba charakterizovat jako proud zastoupeny vetsinove zenskjlmi autorkami, ktere ve sve tvorbe tematicky a topologicky propojuji nemecky mluvici zeme a svou puvodni domovinu. Autori v teto kategorii byli dosud rozdelovani podle zeme puvodu, materskeho jazyka nebo tematiky, kterou se zabYvaji. Autorka textu povazuje v navaznosti na prace Immacolaty Amodeo tato kri teria za nedostacujici, zejmena proto, ze casto vedou ke splynuti kategorie migracni literatury s literaturou exilovou. Za stezejni pro migracni literaturu povazuje autorka otazku jazyka, respektive souvislosti ruznych jazyku, jejich propojovani, pienosu z jednoho jazyka do jineho, popiipade inovovanych koncepci jazyku na urovni syntakticke, semanticke i zcela obecne ieceno na koncepcni urovni mysleni. The diploma thesis introduces in detail the chiefliterary work ofHenri Pourrat Gaspard from the Mountains. After the introduction ofthe author's individuality and after highlighting the main sources of inspiration of Pourrat 's work, the thesis is devoted to a thorough analysis of "Gaspard from the Mountains" in terms ofhow it was created in accordance with the oral folk tradition, an analysis which has not been attempted to by anyone tilI this time. This has been proved on the theme of the work itself and on its episodes, structuring of Gaspard from the Mountains into individual part s corresponding with particular evenings which as ifthey were spent together with a woman-narrator ofthe story, on the inserted humour, and last but not least on the way ofhow language devices typical for oral expression are employed. One whole chapter ofthe thesis has been devoted to individuallanguage levels ofthe work. Next, the spiritual part ofthe literary work which basically determines the direction ofthe main story line is stressed because faith underlies all actions of Anne Marie, the heroine ofthe story. The categorization in Czech sign language

The dissertation Categorization in Czech sign language is mainly focused on the study of categories and their hierarchy according to different levels of generalization in Czech sign language. The aim of the work is to gain basic knowledge and a kind of overview about the ways of level categorizing in Czech sign language and finally to create classification of level category in Czech sign language. The work surnmarizes up-to-date available results of foreign research on categorization in different sign languages, is based on them and presents basic materials coHected during the research of categorization in Czech sign language. AH the materials for this research, which were also recorded, were elicited via the method of interviewing 11 deaf informants. During establishing each level of category, over 450 examples of signs, here caHed "signs" and "categorization signs to specify each category", were altogether gained. Examples of signs and the use of categorical signs in the text of this thesis can be found in the second part, in the research. A virtual company simulation by means of autonomous agents

Business process modeling is one of the most used approaches for capturing the work practise. However, if we want to simulate the execution of these processes, the specification based on process modeling is not suitable, because it is usually based on pure statistical calculation. On the other side there are agent-based simulations that provides more realistic model of a simulated system, but the specification of the simulation by means of agents is usually much more complicated. Thus, in this thesis, we address to the interconnection of these two different approaches and examine the possibilities of agents' behaviour definition using an enhanced process modeling language. We follow the EPC language and its epresentation in EPML, which we extend to carry informations necessary for agents, creating that way a new language A-EPML. To prove that this language is capable of being transformed onto the rules determining agents' behaviour, we present the prototype implementation that performs this translation to the final multi-agent system representing a virtual company.

Words versus music: analysis of Samuel Beckett's "Words and Music", "Cascando" and "Rockbaby"

It was my endeavour to demonstrate the manifold capacities of music with (or emanating from) a text. Indeed, I have proved that music is able to express what words cannot, and that there are many links between the verbal language and that of music, and thus both can be used in an interplay as it can be perceived in Cascando where Voice merges with Music in harmony and their arrangement constitutes a fugue; or both elements can challenge each other in an effort to ascertain which of them should be taken as superior to the other, as in Words and Music; or, even, that language freed of the customary syntactic chains is able to produce rhytmical patterns in accordance to what the words describe, as it is in Rockaby.

Zhang Xianliang's novel Fannao jiu shi zhihui: use of totalitarian language in anti-totalitarian novel

Předmětem této diplomové práce Je Zhang Xianliangův román "Moudrost získaná ut1pením" (Fannao jiushi zhihui). Ačkoli je Zhang Xianliang autorem známým nejen v Číně, ale i v zahraničí, byla prozkoumána a kriticky zhodnocena jen část jeho tvorby. Největšího ohlasu v Číně a pozornosti zahraniční akademické veřejnosti se dostalo zejména Zhang Xianliangově první novele "Tělo a duše,'" a jeho kontroverzním románům z prostředí čínského pracovního tábora Mimóza, Polovina muže je žena a Zvykání si na smrt. Románu Moudrost získaná utrpením byla dosud věnována pozornost pouze okrajová, navíc většina badatelů k němu přistupuje jako k literatuře faktu - tj. autentickému deníku, který zaznamenává autorovy osobní vzpomínky na každodenní život v pracovním táboře. Tato práce přistupuje k románu jinak, jako ke komplexnímu literárnímu dílu, které je uměleckým vyjádřením a obžalobou své doby. Cílem práce je ukázat, že román Moudrost získaná utrpením není prvoplánovým deníkem, ale sofistikovanou výpovědí o povaze totalitní moci v Číně, tak jak ji v 60. let Zhang Xianliang a jiní zažili. K tomu, abychom dosáhli stanoveného cíle, je třeba analyzovat, jakými prostředky je román vystavěn a jak autor nakládá s jazykem románu. The poetics of Álvaro Mutis (Resena de los Hospitales de Ultramar)

In this theses, La poética de Álvaro Mutis (Resena de los Hospitales de Ultramar), we're trying to show the exuberant poetry of the Colombian writer Alvaro Mutis, basically composed by the contrast of refined language and images representing people and nature in decadent status. The first chapter is more theoretical and we dedicate it to decisive events in Mutis's life, in order to give a complete view of his literary production. We continue by mentioning some, mostly European authors, works and literary and philosophical streams, which had significant influence on Mutis's writting and his perception of the world. We also comment the instrument used by the poet to formulate his fears and worries, his lyrical voice: the adventurer Maqroll el Gaviero. The second chapter is dedicated to the Mutis' poetic work. We have divided it into two main streams that differ in motives and lyrical voices. The first group presents Maqroll's figure, consisting of mess, hopelessness and decadence and we can find this orientation in poem books such as Los elementos de desastre, La Resena de los Hospitales de Ultramar, Caravansary and some poems from Los emisarios. Utilizing RELAX NG Schemas in XML Editors

This thesis explores the possibilities of utilizing RELAX NG schemata in the process of editing XML documents. The ultimate goal of this thesis is to prototype a system supporting user while editing XML document with bound RELAX NG schema inside the Eclipse IDE. Such a system comprises two major components -- an integration of RELAX NG validator and an autocompletion engine. Design of the autocompletion engine represents the main contribution of this thesis, because similar systems are almost exclusively implemented in closed-source commercial editors as of 2009. The first chapter is a brief introduction into XML while emphasizing XML schema languages. A comparison is of three major schema languages -- DTD, W3C XML Schema and RELAX NG. Furthermore, options of exploiting information from schema by the XML editor are discussed. In the end of the chapter an overview of basic RELAX NG patterns used throughout this thesis is given. The second chapter describes implementation of the autocompletion engine. It reasons about appropriate in-memory representation of the XML documents and RELAX NG schemas and presents basic principles of pattern-inference for individual elements. The main output of the chapter is an algorithm proposal for generating possible completions based on given XML document nodes and RELAX NG schema of the document. The goal of the final third chapter is integrating RELAX NG validator and the autocompletion engine inside the Eclipse IDE. It starts by describing two basic aspects of Eclipse Platform -- the OSGi Service Platform dynamic module system and the extension point mechanism. Then the implementation of individual plug-ins and their integration with existing XML editing infrastructure is described.
