Biodegradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon in wood treated with creosote oil
Fabiánová, Tereza ; Cajthaml, Tomáš (advisor) ; Gabriel, Jiří (referee)
Wood contaminated by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) represent a serious environmental risk. Composting seems to be an effective method for decontamination of such waste material. PAHs are degraded mainly under aerobic conditions the efficiency of composting could be strongly affected by the process conditions. This work is aimed at the comparison of PAH removal by a 340-days-long composting in laboratory scale composting pilots and a 240-days-long process in a pilot scale. To set up composting piles a "green substrate" commercially used for button-mushroom production and a grass substrate were used. The use of the grass substrate led to a higher PAHs removal (97% of the initial sum of PAHs) in comparison to the green substrate (81% of the initial sum of PAHs). Further, the effect of the size of wood particles on the PAHs removal efficiency was demonstrated. Analysis of phospholipid fatty acids showed an enhanced growth of gramm-negative bacteria and fungi during the composting processes. During the degradation process the enzyme activity of laccase was detected. The ecotoxicological test using a bioluminescent bacteria Vibrio fischeri and a seed germination test using seeds of Hordeum vulgare L. showed that probably no toxic products were formed during the PAHs degradation in these experiments.

The Specific Characteristics of a Child to Three Years of Age
Tejklová - Kunhartová, Dagmar ; Koťátková, Soňa (advisor) ; Havlová, Jana (referee)
Cílem diplomové práce byla identifikace typických znaků v hrové činnosti staršího batolete, identifikace kritérií výběru hraček i faktorů ovlivňujících hru a ověření intervence dospělé osoby do dětské hry - její akceptace a inspirace. Meetings of schools and families: gender changes the rules
Art of the court of Czech and French sovereigns 1370-1420 - the social and historical background (differences and parallels)
Nussbergerová, Lucie ; Hrdina, Jan (referee) ; Nejedlý, Martin (advisor)
At the turn of 14th and 15th century, France and the Kingdom of Bohemia both faced very similar situation: progressive failure of royal authority against the background of sublimity and artistic prosperity in service of royal and aristocratic representation. Regarding Bohemia, this period is adherent to the reign of Wenceslas IV. (1378-1419), the son of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV. His dynasty was related with French kings, during this period it was Charles VI. (1380-1422), called Charles the Mad. The end of the 14th century was a time of insecurity and fear, especially when both of the main powers, secular and spiritual, had been continually weakened. Western Christianity was divided between two, and later even among three popes, residents in Rome, A vignon and Pisa (since 1409). The main task for the kings was to end this situation and to deci de which of these popes was the only one who had been legaly elected. This question was crucial for France and the Holy Roman Empire and it was also the main difficulty in their mutual political relations. Each kingdom also had problems with their own political situation: in France the war with England and subsequent civil war among the members of the royal family. In Bohemia it was the relation with the Holy Roman Empire, because Wenceslas IV. inherited the...

Weathering of arsenopyrite in soils in acidified environment
Soukupová, Lenka ; Drahota, Petr (referee) ; Mihaljevič, Martin (advisor)
Lenka Soukupová, Zvětrávání arsenopyritu v lesních půdách v acidifikovaném prostředí SUMMARY The weathering of arsenopyrite (FeAsS) has been studied at the experimental site Načetín in the Ore Mountains, Czech Republic. There were chosen three areas with different vegetation (beech, spruce a unforested areas) at this site. The arsenopyrite samples were placed in all soil horizons (litter, horizons A, B and C for forest areas; horizons A, B and C for unforested area), where they were exposed to ambient conditions for one year. After one-year weathering, the newly formed secondary minerals were identified and the rate of surface oxidation was determined, both depending on the environment of oxidation. Although physical-chemical parameters and content of main and trace elements of the studied soils varied, the only detected crystalline secondary mineral of arsenic was scorodite (FeAsO4∙2H2O). Nevertheless, this differences affected amount of formed scorodite. The highest concentrations were determined on the surface of the arsenopyrite grains that oxidized in the beech stand, conversely the lowest concentrations were determined on the arsenopyrite grains from the unforested area.

Prudence principle in accounting
Věžník, Marek ; Bokšová, Jiřina (advisor)
The principle of prudence in accounting is one of several generally accepted accounting principles. The need of prudence principle arises from the fact that an accounting entities are often found in situations in which they must deal with certain risks and uncertainties. The basic purpose of this principle is to not to overvalue assets and revenues and also not to undervalue liabilities and expenses. Prudence principle is realized mainly through these instruments: provisions, impairment of assets and depreciation of assets. This bachelor work focuses on the description of provisions and impairment of assets. Its aim is also to describe the provisions and impairment of assets in terms of both the Czech accounting legislation and IAS/IFRS and outline the basic differences between these legislative accounting regulations.

Professional parents as alternative of institutional care for hazardous teenagers
Štefanová, Jitka ; Vítečková, Michaela (referee) ; Lorenzová, Jitka (advisor)
This thesis analyzes the instrument of professional parenting, with an emphasis on its possible application within the Czech system of at-risk youth care. Currently, the system of institutional and protective care and follow-up care for at-risk youth faces criticism from children's rights advocates. In some European countries and other parts of the world, professional parenting has found its permanent use as an instrument for the care of at-risk children and youth. In the Czech Republic, temporary foster care has been codified as an alternative to professional parenting; however, this concept does not have any broad application so far. In the first two chapters, the thesis defines basic terms and describes risk behaviour patterns in children and youth. The third and major chapter lists the main pillars of professional foster care, describes its forms as well as possibilities for foster recruitment, education and other characteristics. The final chapter reflects on current trends in the Czech system of care involving at-risk and vulnerable children.

Credit risk
Šťástková, Monika ; Zichová, Jitka (referee) ; Hurt, Jan (advisor)
This thesis is concerned in credit risk modelling, especially the default probability and time to default variable. It deals with two commonly used methods to figure out the term structure of default probability. The first one is based on credit migration. It is assumed that the credit migration process follows a time homogeneous Markov chain. To test the assumption of time homogeneity two test statistics are proposed in the thesis. The later method for establishing the term structure of the default probability uses the fact, that estimation of credit curve is analogous to a construction of the yield curves. So Nelson-Siegel function can be used for this aim. Then the model for the time to default is described. It is based on the theory of random censorship. Some of these methods are illustrated on real data.

The Progress of Czech Insurance Market
Dvořáková, Michaela ; Daňhel, Jaroslav (advisor)
My labour describes a progress of insurance market from the origins. After the second world war there functioned monopolistic The First Czech Insurance Company and the insurance was imperfect and agreed with then economic situation. The biggest improvement happenend in 1991, social and economic transformation opened the door to business in all branches of financial market. A population adapted for a competitive invironment and a new legislature in a very short time. It was necessary to realize the own responsibility of risks and financial needs. Today's insurace quality is comparable with advanced countries of the EU and people find important to insure their property and lifes, it show us total indicators of insurace.
