Semiotics of point of sale and product merchandising
Plecitá, Michaela ; Kladný, Tomáš (advisor) ; Poštulka, Filip (referee)
The diploma thesis Semiotics of point of sale and product merchandising focuses on studying space as a semiotic phenomenon. Space here will be analyzed in terms of key concepts, such as orientation and identification. The diploma thesis will be based on a comparison of different spaces for consumption, where the space will be perceived as artificial place, whose position is changing according to the development of society. The main theme of diploma thesis will be arrangement of the space, that means idea how the people in the area of shopping centers are moving in parallel with the city. Shopping center will be the target of my interest, where I will analyze behavior of man depending on the point, which I will lay out in the shopping center. The aim of the thesis is to find out influences of buyer's behavior, what techniques are used in the point of sale and how brand builds his position. The research method will be semiotic analysis.
Stanovení pozičního chování savců se zaměřením na magnetické pole Země
FOLEJTAROVÁ, Lucie
Currently, much attention is paid to magnetoreception, a sense which allows an organism to detect a magnetic field of the earth. Now, this discovery is related to positional behaviour of animals (magnetic alignment) in the magnetic field and the world phenomenon of "magnetic cows". The magnetic alignment is a spontaneous (congenital) behaviour, when the animal puts its body axis into the positions of north - south or east - west. Most studies have demonstrated the north - south direction preference. This work contributes to clarify positional behaviour of cattle during the daily cycle. This study is based on a different data collection and is targeted at individuals in the herd. Individuals were photographed in a given direction, at hourly intervals. The magnetic alignment was determined in 26 individuals from three different cattle herds, mainly east or west. Statistically significant results during daily cycles in individual intervals also confirmed the north - south direction preference. There were also discussed the environmental conditions that may affect the final result. For inconclusive results, the individuals were probably motivated by temporarily more important local incentives.
9DOF sensor for weapon orientation measurement
Růžička, Jiří ; Richter, Miloslav (referee) ; Šedivá, Soňa (advisor)
This thesis deals with multi-axis position sensors, their nature and individual parts and types of these sensors. It is outlined their historical origin and the most used modern types, such as micro-electro-mechanical sensors. Further, the properties of these sensors, error sources and their compensation are discussed. Output data formats are also discussed here, such as Euler angles, their calculation and applications. The selected sensor is implemented in the simulator electronics, and the graphical application demonstrates its functions.
To Dvur Kralove by train - Transfer Terminal in Dvur Kralove nad Labem
Vinklárková, Eliška ; Sedláček, Jan (referee) ; Foretník, Jan (advisor)
The main objective of the proposal was not to create a barrier for the inhabitants or tourists by integrating transport on this parcel, leaving it as far as possible to the pedestrians. Movement of pedestrians and vehicles should not cross. The new tracks are therefore moved to the existing siding. Bus traffic should take place at busy local roads. The terminal building is in the center of the plot and is a link between bus, train, car and pedestrians. Thanks to the selected transport solution, the parcel is free from the traffic barriers and there is a free pedestrian spread. At the same time, the transport solution does not allow the free passage of the population to the south. The location of the scatter surface naturally guides the visitor and the inhabitants of the city to their area of interest - a departure from the industrial part of the city.
Migrations of dragonflies and damselflies (Odonata)
Hančíková, Barbora ; Černý, Martin (advisor) ; Waldhauser, Martin (referee)
This study is aimed at the phenomenon of migration, which is not still fully explored and which, by different circumstances, undergo several species of dragonflies (Odonata). Only for a few species from several tens of migrants generally, their migration route and strategies are explored. These case studies are described and I am also dealing with those species of dragonflies for which migration is not fully explored, and I am pointing out the other possible fields of research. One of the aims of my work is the comparison of different attributes and strategies of migration in dragonflies with other migrants from insect as well as the migratory birds.
Adaptation of Workers in Organizations
Fraňková, Anna ; Kocianová, Renata (advisor) ; Reichel, Jiří (referee)
The subject of submitted bachelor thesis is an area of workers adaptation within the organization. The main objective of this thesis is to point out the importance of adaptation of workers in organizations for workers and for the organization. This thesis defines the term adaptation and describes it from several points of view. It also deals with factors which affect the adaptation of workers. Further it discusses notions work adaptation and social adaptation, their exact definitions and partitions. This thesis describes the adaptation process of new employees, it shows some possibilities of its managing and monitoring. It also puts the stress on the meaning and the roles of people involved in the adaptation of workers. It doesn't even miss out the potential consequences of uncontrolled adaptation and possible risks and problems, which can result from that, not only for the new employee, but for organization as well.
Milan Kundera's The Joke supervised. Critical reception of the novel in the context of its release and today
Baumová, Anna ; Čeňková, Jana (advisor) ; Bednařík, Petr (referee)
Diploma thesis "Milan Kundera's 'The Joke' supervised. Critical reception of the novel in the context of its release and today" deals with critical reflection of the novel 'The Joke' in the period from the end of the 1960's up to current reviews. The author dedicates first chapters to the cultural and political background of the release. The core of the thesis focuses mostly on critical reception of the novel, which is divided into three historical periods. In the first part of the critical historical analysis and qualitative analysis, the author examines critical acceptance of the novel in the aftermath of its release (1967- 1969), in the Czechoslovakian and exiled journals and literary magazines in particular. The second part considers critical reaction to the novel throughout 1970's and 80's, and stresses outcomes of the reception in the sixties, official normalized critical reviews and the acceptance in the exile and samizdat literature as well. Finally, the last part of the thesis offers contemporary critical response to 'The Joke', analyzed on the basis of journals, literary magazines and newly emergent Kundera's monographs. Summarizing critical reception in each period, historical context is of primary importance to a profound understanding of the topic. The aim of the thesis is to find out...
Magnetic orientation in mammals
Tejmlová, Kristýna ; Němec, Pavel (advisor) ; Vácha, Martin (referee)
Earth's magnetic field can provide animal with both directional and positional information. The ability to perceive and utilize information extracted from the geomagnetic field is called magnetoreception. Magnetoreception mechanisms remain largely unknown. Three main hypotheses are currently supported by experimental evidence. The light-independent mechanisms are based either on electromagnetic induction or on biogenic magnetite. The light-dependent mechanism is based on specific chemical reaction between radical pairs. Perception of the geomagnetic field facilitates both long- and short-distance orientation of animals. Some animals exhibit the magnetic alignment, i.e., spontaneuos preference for a certain geomagnetic direction. Another manifestation of magnetoreception is magnetic compass (polarity- or inclination-based, depending on species), which enable an animal to determine the azimuth, i.e., the angle between the direction of motion and geomagnetic field vector. Magnetic map sense enable an animal to determine its position and direction to the goal destination, most likely utilizing the inclination and the intensity of the geomagnetic field as navigational cues. Magnetic orientation of mammals seems to be a widespread phenomenon. Light- independend, polarity compass has been reported in...
