Semiotic interpretation of Kant's aesthetics
Šlerka, Josef ; Ševčík, Miloš (referee) ; Petříček, Miroslav (advisor)
The Semiotic lnterpretation of Kanťs Aesthetics deals with the relations between Peirce's serniotic concepts and some aspects of Kant' s philosophy and aesthetics. The first part, named Peirce And His Philosophy, presents basic terms and concepts of Peirce's philosophy. The second part, named Kanťs aesthetics, identifies some mutual elements of Peirce's and Kanťs approach. Therefore it interprets some basic concepts of Kanťs philosophy and aesthetics as semiotic, namely it tries to define the concept of beauty and sublimity by means of Peirce's distinction of icon and index. In the following analysis the text focuses on the aspect of subjectivation and sensuality in the experience of beauty and sublimity. Finally, the third part, named The Leve/s of Thought, shows that this interpretation belongs to a wider context of human thought levels based on the axes of the irrational/rational and absurdity/active skepticism.

Changes in the steppe vegetation of the solitary conic hill Oblík in the České Středohoří Protected Landscape Area
Zmeškalová, Jana ; Suchara, Ivan (advisor) ; Chýlová, Tereza (referee)
Změny stepní vegetace v NPR Oblík 8 2. Abstract Changes in the steppe vegetation of the solitary conic hill Oblík in the České Středohoří Protected Landscape Area This diploma thesis is based on a comparison of vegetation and chemical attributes of the soil between the years 1973 and 2006/7 in the model area of the Oblík hill. The primary source of old botanical and pedological data is a series of diploma theses by students from the Department of Botany, Faculty of Science, Charles University from the seventies of the 20th Century (Březinová 1973, Klimešová 1973, Suchara 1974). The study is limited by old methodology. Vegetation data were compared on the different levels - phytosociological relevés, non-destructive estimation of shrub biomass, photogrammetry of shrub communities and syntaxonomical classification. Environmental changes were studied by repeating chemical analyses (contents of N, C, K, Ca, C/N, pH) and indirectly using Ellenberg's indication values. Today, there is higher species diversity and a high turnover of species in the area. The number of pastures and mesophilous broad-leaved grassland species has decreased. The number of nitrophilous and margin species, weeds and shrubs has increased. The area of the syntaxonomical units Festuco valesiacae-Stipetum capillatae, Koelerio...

Dependance of the fast population growth on budget management in a chosen municipality
Šuran, Ondřej ; Sedmihradská, Lucie (advisor) ; Sedmihradská, Lucie (referee)
This thesis discusses dependence of budget management on fast growth in number of population in chosen municipality. At first there are mentioned theoretical aspects to which budget management in municipality proceeds. It is about expenses of municipal budgets, position of municipal authorities within public service and theoretical aspects of municipal budget setting. In the next step this work puts mind to the chosen municipality, progress in number of its population, analysis of progress of its incomes, current expenses and capital expenses in context of the municipality growth and correlation analysis. Conclusion of this thesis is that just a few of them is fundamentally dependent on the municipality growth and majority of them is just slightly dependent or they aren't dependent at all.

Struggle for the power of State securiy's archives

Differentiation of yeast colonies and development of new approaches to monitor oxygen and nutrient availability
Vopálenská, Irena ; Janderová, Blanka (advisor) ; Demnerová, Kateřina (referee) ; Pichová, Iva (referee)
Yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as an unicellular organism is one of the best-studied experimental organisms. It is an important model organism for the study of intracellular processes of eukaryotic cells. Yeasts are also social organisms with cell-to-cell communication able to form organized multicellular structures (colonies and biofilms). Yeast and other microorganisms in nature prefer to form colonies on solid substrates rather than to grow as "planktonic" single cells (Palková, 2004; Wimpenny, 2009). The yeast S. cerevisiae typically forms colonies, biofilms were described only rarely. Yeast colonies exhibit an organized morphological pattern characteristic of each particular yeast strain (Kocková-Kratochvílová, 1982). This work is focusing on morphology and differentiation of the S. cerevisiae colonies of common laboratory strains forming less structured colonies, and strains of the Σ1278b genetic background forming highly structured "fluffy" colonies. It shows that polarized budding pattern and especially cell ability to form aggregates enable development of structured morphology. During development of "fluffy" colonies two differently regulated events of dimorphic switch from yeast form to filamentous growth occur. One of these events is dependent on the surface glycoprotein, Flo11p flocculin. This...

International economic organizations and impact of their activities on international trade development
Jovičić, Elena ; Sato, Alexej (advisor) ; Štěrbová, Ludmila (referee) ; Čajka, Peter (referee)
The necessity for a more adequate regulation of global trade relations (including support for the liberalization and development of international trade), in the context of the deepening globalization processes, requires a greater level of involvement of international economic organizations and more effective implementation of their activities. The primary purpose of the dissertation is to determine whether and how the World Trade Organization, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group have influenced the development of international trading system. The results of this thesis show that international organizations (primarily WTO and UNCTAD) during various stages of its development have been significantly affecting international trade growth mainly through the implementation of specific activities and measures related to a series of agreements and decisions. However, international organizations have had a divergent impact on international trade. The effectiveness of the implementation of specific activities and programs were depending on the political and economic situation of member countries, as well as the governments´ readiness and willingness to implement these measures. On the other hand, the effectiveness of realization of specific activities have been affected by either the internal weaknesses of the organizations, or the insufficient level of cooperation and coordination in the implementation of joint programs and measures aimed at international trade development.

Merzová, Linda ; Stuchlíková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Neumann, Pavel (referee)
The diplomma thesis deals with the Lewis turning point and its impact on the Chinese economy. The work is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter explains the basic concept ,,Lewis turning point" and its position in the global context. Besides W. A. Lewis is also mentioned in a number of other authors dealing with growth theories. Here it is primarily determined whether China has reached the Lewis turning point, which is the impact of this point on the Chinese economy, the labor market and what follows the development of the Chinese economy after reaching this point. The third part is found a connection between Lewis turning point and university/higher education. Part of this chapter are the specifics, trends and especially the problems of the university system in China. The conclusion of this chapter is devoted to a turning point, and its impact on education.
