Clustering techniques for ads monitoring
Dzetkulič, Tomáš ; Kára, Jan (referee) ; Kolman, Petr (advisor)
This thesis surveys possibilities of clustering of advertisements, especially those for real estates. It defines clustering itself, its usage and typical requirements for clustering algorithms. We provide list of existing clustering methods and approaches, their properties and suitable application. We consider possiblity of using them for clustering of milions of advertisements and based on that, we choose most suitable algorithm for this problem. We describe how to interpret advertisement as the point in multi dimensional vector space and this algorithm for clustering such points using locality of families of hash functions. We describe algorithm in detail, listing all of its parameters, estimating its complexity and expected results. In the following chapters we describe implementation of the algorithm in Java. We also describe database structure of underlying relational database. In the next chapter we present results of the algorithm based on real data and we compare the results with the expected results of the algorithm. In the end, we discuss possibilities for future extension of the clustering method.

Frydrych, Jan ; Čabanová, Bohumila (advisor) ; Orságová, Petra (referee)
My Master thesis called Motivating potential of the sojourn services of the social prevention for accommodation of "rough sleepers" in the Czech Republic is concerned with the opportunities to increase the attractiveness of already mentioned services for the target group via the change of accommodation conditions or via the creation of new services to lower the number of homeless people. The basic research problem of my thesis consists in hypothesis verification of need for "low-liminal" sojourn service stimulating the willingness for social integration of dependent members of the target group in particular. The starting point for my work is the right to help in accommodation and motivation for social integration by means of life quality enhancement, namely by providing the concern in helpful social sojourn services. In the theoretical part, the analysis of strategy and basic legal regulation reducing the issue of homelessness is worked out, chosen services of social prevention, apt for inclusion of the target group in our country and in Great Britain and their motivating potential, are reviewed; furthermore the special Danish and Slovak innovative solutions are mentioned. Practical part represents three tapered established variants of the possible innovative solutions of the problem - "shelter...

Analysis and management of a development project
PRANEVSKÝ, Luděk
The aim of the thesis lies in implementation of a complex analysis of partial phases of a developing project including its management. This aim can be achieved by achieving partial aims such as doing an analysis of a developing project as well as doing an analysis of developing activities in České Budějovice region or analyzing a specified developing project "HOUSELOTS {--} Šindlovy Dvory" including the assessment and suggesting a measure. The reason for setting such a goal is in a need to explore a relatively new enterprise activity which is expanding nowadays and affects all of us. It involves building new commercial centres where people go shopping or entertain themselves as well as building flats, single-family houses and grounds for people{\crq}s living. The complex theoretical analysis of a developing project and the analysis of a single implemented project lead to the conclusion that the success of a developer{\crq}s project is first of all dependent on the quality of a choice of a developing project and also on the exact accomplishment of single phases of a project according to its aims set in advance. It is essential to plan all steps of partial phases of a project exactly. To forget or delay any step in a specific phase of a project can affect the final result dramatically. Significant disturbance of surrounding structures may occur in such cases (suppliers, investors/buyers and other cooperative persons) as well as in big financial losses and even quarrels at law.

Concept of legal personality in Roman law
Bayer, Tomáš ; Bělovský, Petr (referee) ; Falada, David (advisor)
(resumé) The Concept of Legal Subjectivity in Roman law The goal of this thesis is to present the concept of legal subjectivity and legal capacity in Roman law and to demonstrate how this subject is connected with essential issues in Roman law such as citizenship, personal freedom and personal status. The first part of the thesis introduces the concept of legal subjectivity and offers definitions and descriptions of legal subjectivity and legal capacity provided by reputable legal experts and historians. The second part of the thesis focuses on the legal subjectivity of natural persons and consists of several chapters which further elaborate on specific subchapters to the main topic of the second part; specifically: citizenship, personal freedom, slavery and personal status in the Roman family. The concept of Capitis Deminutio, which is so specific to Roman law and non existent in modern legal systems, is also discussed in this part of the thesis. The second part also attempts to shed light on the abundantly discussed topic of the legal position of women in Roman society My endeavour was to point out that laws governing women, which would be considered discriminatory by today's lawyers, were functional and naturally accepted in Roman society. An explanation of the Roman legal institutions of...

Špačková, Jana ; Josek, Jiří (referee) ; Kalivodová, Eva (advisor)
The thesis deals with existing Czech translations of Sue Miller' s novels and explores the non/transferability of their feature of having the potential to become a bestseller into Czech culture. It analyzes the translation of the novel The Good Mother by Ilona Kořánová and Marcela Haspeklová published in 1995, the translation of the chapter Four from the novel The Good Mother by Eva Věšínová published in the magazíne Iniciály in 1992 and the unpublished translation of the novel F amily Pic tur es by Vladimíra Žáková from 1996. Sue Miller's first novel The Good Mother, first published in 1986, was a great success with US readers, and also her following novels Family Pictures, For Love and While I Was Gone became bestsellers in the USA. However, Sue Miller is almost unknown among Czech readers. The chapter Two briefly describes Sue Miller's life and works, and in the chapter Three, Sue Miller's works are set into the social and cultural context ofthe USA in the second half of the twentieth century. The 1992 Backlash: The Undeclared War Against American Women by Susan Faludi is used as an important source of information on the development ofthe US society in 1980s. The chapter Four explores the situation in the Czech social and cultural context, namely the literary works by Czech women writers concentrating on...

State balanced budget rule under conditions of the Czech republic
Doležal, Ondřej ; Ryvolová, Ivana (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Pavel (referee)
The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to analyze if the Czech Republic offers sufficient institutional environment to fight state budget deficit, or if it should adopt a "balanced budget rule" which would create such an environment. The thesis presents both a theoretical concept of a balanced budget rule and legislative proposals for its adoption in the Czech Republic. The thesis also deals with existing balanced budget rule in different states of the United States of America and in Switzerland. The institutional environment is then compared to two groups of EU member states running different budget policies between 1998 and 2007. The first group consists of countries keeping a balanced state budget such as Denmark, Ireland and Finland while the second group contains countries running irresponsible budgetary policies such as the Czech Republic, Italy and Hungary.

The Perspective of EU Common Immigration Policy
Kuzmič, Michal ; Abrhám, Josef (advisor) ; Popovová, Marie (referee)
The bachelor thesis The Perspective of EU Common Immigration Policy is primarily focused on economic and in particular work immigration to EU from third countries. The thesis lays out two questions. First question is in what way the differences between supranational and intergovernmental (or national) approach towards legal work immigration are demonstrated among the EU members and institutions. Second question seeks to determine the will of states to liberalize the entry and residence of immigrants on their labour markets. In order to answer the outlined questions I conducted an analysis of the reactions of states and European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) to the questions presented by European Commission in its Green Paper on an EU Approach to Managing Economic Migration. The findings of the analysis show that majority of states (11 of 13) prefer lower degree of harmonization whereas only 2 states along with EESC support more comprehensive harmonization. Also, 10 out of 13 states have "restrictive" or "rather restrictive" preferences towards further liberalization of immigration policy whereas the other three countries and EESC are considered to be "liberal" and "rather liberal". This outcome supports the realist theory of migration policies, which stresses the dominant role of states and their unwillingness to give up their competences to supranational institutions.
