Possibilities of Providing First Aid by Trained Members of the Army of the Czech Republic in Foreign Missions
HLOBILOVÁ, Petra
This Bachelor thesis deals with possibilities that trained members of the Army of the Czech Republic have when giving first aid on their foreign missions. It deals with the soldiers who have passed through a special Combat Lifesaver Course (later just CLS), the activity of doctors and middle medical staff in medical centres is not involved. The work is divided in two parts ? theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part I summarized the specifics of giving first aid in field conditions and the basic principles that military medical staff follow. There are into detail described actions that a Combat Lifesaver performs in case a fellow fighter is injured, to ensure their vital signs immediately after the injury and to transport them to a higher level medical facility. The aim of this work is to provide an idea of giving first aid in the tactical environment of experts and to point out numerous peculiarities which differentiate it from the first aid we know from the civil life. That´s because combat conditions bring lots of restrictions and risks for the injured as well as for the medical staff providing urgent care. The method selected for the qualitative research in the practical part is semi directive interview. The interviews were held with four members of the Army of the Czech Republic, who have attended the above mentioned course and have taken part in a foreign mission with that specialization, and with two instructors of the CLS course. The questions were about the way of selecting soldiers for the CLS course, their training and preparation before their departure to a foreign mission. There were also analysed the competences and obligations of a Combat Lifesaver in case of injury of a fellow fighter. The research has demonstrated that soldiers are selected for the Combat Lifesaver course mainly according to the requirements for the foreign missions. The aim of the selection is the presence of at least one soldier with medical training in each crew. The only requirement on the soldiers that must be fulfilled before departing to a foreign mission is completion of the cited course. Other activities, like training other members of the crew and rounding off their knowledge are up to their consideration. It´s been proved that a Combat Lifesaver fulfils their tasks at a foreign mission in the same way as any other soldier and their specialization is applied only in case of injury of a fellow fighter. They most often deal with gunshot and fragment wounds.

The problems of nursing care in children with stomia of small and large intestines
BARTYZALOVÁ, Martina
The bachelor thesis is aimed at the problematics of the children patiens with stomia. Stomia is the taking out of the small or large intestine out of the body. The most often indications with insomia is to remove the large intestine, inborn development defect and the necrotising enterocolitidis (NEC). The most often reasons for the by-passing with the colostomy are also the development defects and the Hirschsprung desease. Children with the stomia are few in the Czech Republic. They are mainly newly-borns or suckling infants, with whom stomia is tempoval. Children with this desease are usually taken care of by the parents in the home invironment. The parents are dependant on the assistance of a stomia nurse, which educates them and informs about everything connected with the illness. The goal of the bathelor thesis is to map the needs of the children with stomia of the small and large intestine and specify the needs of the nursing care. The work was also aimed at the task of the stomia nurses caring for the children with stomia. A qualitative research with the method of questioning was applied together with the discussion method with the parents of the sick children and the stomia nurses, who have already had experience with caring for the children with the stomia disease. All in all ten parents have been contacted, six of which have participated in the interview. Fourteen stomia nurses have been contacted, but due to little experience with treating the stomia children just three of them have been interviewed. The respondents came from various parts of the Czech Republic. As for the specifics of the nursing care we were interested in three aspects of the nursing care. The first sphere was skin care, where it was found out that the parents of the children with ileostomy should pay special care to the skin in the place around stomia. It is caused by the fact that ileostomy takes out watery and agressive substance, which causes skin damage in the place of stomia. Another important fact was that the patents use common children cosmetics, which is considered to be absolutely unsuitable for the children with stomia. It is also important to mention that due to a wide choise of stomia amendments the nursing care is on a much higher level than before. As for catering it was found out that newly-borns and suckling infants should be breast feaded and with the ileostomics the stool should be was thickened by adding rice puding without milk. The third sphere was evacuation. Childer with stomia evacuate in a specific way with the help of bags and systems. It was found out that the most suitable system for children with stomia was the simple one. The other goal was to map the needs of stomia children. From the research it was found out that stomia has a negative effect on the quality of life of both the children and their parents. Stomia affects the life socially but mainly mentally. As for the mental aspects it was found out that the services of psychiatrists are not used. It is also supported by the fact that just one parent out of six uses consultations with the stomia nurse regularly, who should be their main support. It was also found out that every child cried while stomia was treated. From the social side it was found out that children with stomia can be isolated from other children at kindergartens and schools. Stomia also restricts children when doing sport and other activities. As for the fysiological needs, they have already been mentioned in the specifics of the nursing care. The last goal was to find out what role in treating children stomia the stomia nurse plays. It was found out that the education of the stomia nurse is very important for the parents of the children with stomia but their opinions do not coincide. Some nurses say that they educate the parents before and after the operation, but we have found out that it was not true. Very few parents were educated before and after the operation.

Aboveground production of a wet meadow stand dominated by Carex acuta
KUNCOVÁ, Štěpánka
The MSc thesis is part of the project of Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic entitled Czech Terra, which aims at assessing the carbon budget and cycle in the main types of ecosystems in the Czech Republic. This thesis is focussed on the production of aboveground biomass of Carex acuta, which dominates the unmanaged and permanently flooded part of the Wet Meadows. The seasonal dynamics of aboveground plant production was followed using a series of 9 destructive harvests during the vegetation season. On each date, four 0.5x0.5m2 samples were taken from the wetter, and four samples from the drier part of the stand. The maximum value of live biomass of C. acuta (550.8 g.m-2) was recorded on 13.6 2008. The highest value of live biomass of all species reached 602.4 g.m-2. The maximum total biomass (without litter) reached 994.6 g. m-2. The highest value of productivity of C. acuta (12.46 g.m-2.day-1) was recorded on 24. 5.

Forest and Hunting Law in the Czech Countries till the Year 1938
Mašínová, Michala ; Soukup, Ladislav (referee) ; Adamová, Karolina (referee)
This thesis depicts the evolution of the relation of people to our forests and hunting till the year 1938. During the initial settlement of our country all members of tribes were free to hunt without regulations. Since the 11th century the wealthy aristocracy had their own hereditary woods and restricted the right of hunting animals. The first important step to protect our forests was taken by Charles IV but his legal regulation called Codex Carolinus wasn't approved because of the aristocracy opposition. The profitability of forestry began to be appreciated in the 15th and the 16th century. Many instructions regulating the protection of forests were issued in this period. The forests were in an alarming state, exhausted and without wood reserves till the 18th century. The forest law underwent the biggest development under the rule of Maria Terezia and Joseph II. The most important legal regulation in that period was the hunting rule from the year 1754. The biggest break in the development of hunting law was brought by the patent No. 54/1849 i. a. of the emperor Frank Joseph I. in 1849. The monarch cancelled the nobility's right of hunting in other people's holdings by means of this patent. A slow shift from quantity to quality in the conception of hunting started in the 19th century. In 1852 the...

Tree-ring chronology of Norway spruce, a study from the Eastern Krkonoše Mts.
Janda, Martin ; Kolář, Tomáš (referee) ; Treml, Václav (advisor)
3 ABSTRACT Presented thesis is focused on the development of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) dendrochronologic standard for the high elevation zone of the Eastern Krkonoše Mts.. Samples were taken from individuals growing either in supramontane forest or in the treeline ecotone. Additional increment cores were sampled in old cottages and chalets. Various elements of roof constructions and timbering were the source of dendrochronologic material. Aim of the thesis was to develop long and reliable tree-ring chronology using standardisation techniques which retain also lower frequency climate variations. Two standard tree-ring chronologies were developed - first using double detrending standardisation (DD, 1792-2006), second using regional curve standardisation (RCS, 1811- 1970). Analyzed historic material significantly differs from tree-ring curves derived from standing trees, thus achieving the composite chronology was impossible. Cottage no. 9 in Svoboda nad Úpou is with its origin after AD 1711 outstanding among thirteen successfully dated historic buildings. Both RCS even DD chronologies retain lower frequency variations. DD chronology can be successfully used in events and some buildings dating. Response function analysis was made using monthly instrumental records from the Sněžka meteorological...

The effect of social standing on lifestyle in the Czech Republic
Špaček, Ondřej ; Šanderová, Jadwiga (advisor) ; Tuček, Milan (referee)
Ondřej Špaček Vliv sociálního postaveni na životni styl v České republice Summary There can be identified two basic theoretical positions in the discussion o f the association between lifestyles or tastes and social standing. The theory of homology is derived from the work o f Bourdieu and the early ideas about elite and mass culture. This theory supposes that the hierarchy of the social standings is mirrored in the hierarchy of the tastes. High classes usually consume the high culture while lower classes like the popular culture. This idea is opposed by thoughts of some post-modem thinkers. Such authors as Beck or Bauman accent process of individualisation that disrupts strict connection between the social standing and the lifestyle. They say that the influence of socioeconomic determinants on the lifestyle is diminishing in today's western societies. These two theoretical positions could be understood as two opposing hypotheses that should be tested by an empirical research. The empirical core of this paper is based on the marketing research data from survey Market & Media & Lifestyle 2004 (MEDIAN). I construct the typology of lifestyles represented by the patterns of consumption preferences. Four areas of lifestyle preferences are taken into account: culture consumption, eating, travelling and fashion....
