"In Oil We Trust?" US Policy in Persian Gulf after the Cold War
Kašík, Jakub ; Nálevka, Vladimír (advisor) ; Horák, Slavomír (referee)
6. Resumé (Shrnutí práce v anglickém jazyce) The end of the eighties was not just a change in the time but it happened to be one of the biggest historical changes in the twentieth century. Two camps that stood against each other in ideological as well as realistic animosity were enemies no more. The Cold War ended. American scholars became to question new world? Two main visions were represented by the theories of Fukuyama and Huntington. The first came with the thesis that the end of Cold war was not just the end of more than 40 years long struggle but that it was the confirmation of the superiority of the United States and the ideas that it was based on. Liberal democracy was said to be the final stage of human struggle to find the ideal way of statehood. The second theory came with totally opposite idea that considered the new world unleashed from the bounds of Cold war as full of geopolitical vacuum that will turn into more clashes between cultures and civilizations. The euphoria of those days appreciated the first theory but was afraid that the second one is closer to the truth. The main question was: how will the new world look like? United States were considered to be the winners but the main task was to find their role in the new world. The new administration of George H. W. Bush even though shocked...

The Creation and Implementation of a School Education Programme in Practice
Chalupník, Milan ; Trojan, Václav (advisor) ; Slavíková, Lenka (referee)
This final bachelor thesis deals with problems of creation process of school education programs in primary schools in Czech Republic. Since it is an activity that school subjects could not have experienced so far and since the availability of pilot schools outcomes is not optimal, this thesis aims to provide basic information file that is important for start of systematic work on creation of school curriculum document. It systematizes correlation between School Education Program and actual legal rules of Czech legal system and offers instruments for motivation of participants making this document. The important part of the thesis is also research. The aim of this research was to judge factors that have influence on creation process of School Education Program in primary schools and also in terms of their difference in schools of number of students bellow 200 and over 200 pupils. The results of this research confirm that there are differences in some facts between small and large schools. These differences can subsequently influence the progress of creation process of School Education Program and thus could have essential influence on its final form in terms of qualitative judgement and above all in terms of its function.

Clipping from the word-formation, word-class, stylistic/register, semantic and translational perspectives
Skala, Richard ; Čermák, Jan (referee) ; Klégr, Aleš (advisor)
The analysis confirms the general findings of the authors dealing with the process of clippings. The trends which the thesis confirms are: Back-clipping is the most frequent type of clipping, the other types are rare. Clippings are mostly created from nouns. Plain clippings are mostly mono- or disyllabic and they mostly respect the syllable divisions in the base. This means that plain clippings are mostly created from the first syllable of the base. Clippings are mostly colloquial/informal. What the thesis adds is the precise expression of the proportions of the individual features and also the identification of the different motivation behind the creation of embellished clippings. In other words, the analysis shows that embellished clippings differ from plain clippings not only on formal grounds, i.e. the presence of the suffix, but also in other features: embellished clippings have more often an adjectival base, they are more often stylistically marked, more often slang, more often regionally specific and less often specific for a subject field. This shows that embellished clippings are trendy, created to attract attention, part of the substandard language and that the ingroup status is even intensified in embellished clippings. Medial clipping, as a minor type of clipping is established alongside...

Yom Kippur war and its impacts on Israeli economics, politics and society
Vágnerová, Jitka ; Tumis, Stanislav (advisor) ; Kovář, Martin (referee)
In my bachelors thesis I would like to aim at not only the analysis of reasons, process and results of Yom Kippur war, but mainly at its impacts on Israeli society, politics and economics. One of the results of foundation of the state of Israel in 1948 was sharpening of tension in the region of the Near and Middle East, which results can be seen to the present days. As very important I find the analysis of political, economical and social development of Israel early after the end of Yom Kippur war, which in fact confirmed the results of Six-Day war from 1967. I find it important because right at that time the tension inside Isreal againts the Arabic world and against Palestinians started to sharpen a lot (e.g. in connection with the settlement politics of Isreal in the occupated territories). Results of the conflict and politics of Isreal after another won war with the Arabic coalition had important impact also on futher political, social and economical development of the Near and Middle East Region.

Humoral response of specific hosts to bird schistosome antigens
Turjanicová, Libuše ; Mikeš, Libor (advisor) ; Kolářová, Libuše (referee)
This thesis focuses on humoral immune response of specific hosts to antigens of various developmental stages of bird schistosomes T. regenti and T. szidati, and follows up on previous research of antibody response in non-specific hosts (mouse, human). Sera of experimentally infected and hunted-down wild ducks were examined using the ELISA and western blot methods. The sera samples were taken in predefined intervals. Results of the ELISA analysis show the process of humoral immune response after infection by bird schistosomes. The level of specific antibodies IgY against homogenate of T. regenti cercariae increased significantly 20 d.p.i. in ducks infected by T. regenti. Such reaction wasn't observed in ducks infected by T. szidati. Slight changes in level of specific antibodies IgM against T. szidati cercariae homogenate were observed 10 d.p.i. only in fully immunocompetent ducks and in reinfected ducks. Examination of hunted-down wild ducks didn't prove infection by bird schisosomes; this conclusion was confirmed by results of the ELISA analysis. IgY antibodies from ducks infected by T. regenti demonstrated strong reactions with 2 antigens in ranges 49-47 kDa and 47-45 kDa. Other reactions, which were recognized, have not been observed in all specimen. An Western blott with homogenate from 7 days...

The Methods of Improvements of Financial Statements of European Banks: The Issues of IFRS And Its Influence on The Economy
Vlasáková, Andrea ; Jílek, Josef (advisor) ; Hájek, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with methods of improvement of financial statements of European banks and their impact on the economy. The financial statements are the principal information source used by external users when making economic decisions. The thesis is focused on analysis of impairment of financial assets and insufficient creation of provisions for credit losses, on faire value and amortized cost measurement of financial assets, macrohedging of interest rate risk, reporting of goodwill and on derecognition and transfer of financial assets. The thesis investigates major differences between US GAAP and IFRS. Initial hypothesis are set down at the beginning of each chapter. These are confirmed after the analysis of the academic literature, primary resources and empirical data. The thesis confirmed the principal assumption that financial reporting under IFRS provides to European banks several ways how to improve their financial statements, which contradicts to the requirements of fair and true view of economic situation of entities. Low-quality financial information can lead to instability of the financial markets, which does not contribute to the economic growth.

Minor place-names with the suffix -yně
Štěpán, Pavel
The paper commemorates the work of Jaromír Spal dealing with the suffix -yně in settlement names. The author of the present article analyses the use of this suffix in non-settlement names from the territory of Bohemia and confirms the conclusion of Spal’s that the original function of the suffix -yně was not possessive (in connection with anthroponyms), as the general opinion used to be, but this suffix was primarily used for the formation of non-settlement names from common-noun bases. The aim of the article is to point out the fact that the analysis of non-settlement names can often contribute to the interpretation of settlement names, which can be often modified and replacad by a more probable solution. The starting point for the analysis is formed by Spal’s interpretation of selected place names ending in -yně; parallels of these names among non-settlement names are found and commented on. Also some other non-settlement names derived from both noun and adjective bases are studied. The major conclusion (corresponding to Spal’s findings) is that the suffix -yně was not primarily used for the creation of deanthroponymic possessive names; this use was only analogical (this analogy was based on the contamination with the suffix -ina) and rather limited.

HÁKOVÁ, Alena
The thesis presents the results of theoretical and empirical study. The thesis deals with primary monitoring of lifestyle of students with special educational needs, the creation of an educational program designed for dormitory of secondary vocational school and the program's impact on quality of life. The work consists of several parts. The theoretical part describes the principles of a healthy lifestyle (healthy eating, physical activity, mental activity), special educational needs, the age period of 15-18 years, secondary vocational school and quality of life. The practical part analyzes the lifestyle of students at secondary vocational school in Soběslav. This part highlights the different attitudes of commuter students and students living in dormitories. The analysis is based on questionnaire my own creation. The results are shown in the graphs. For dormitory of secondary vocational school an educational program "A year in a dorm" was created. The program is aimed at a comprehensive understanding of health and healthy lifestyle. The influence of the educational process on the quality of life we investigated using a standardized questionnaire PedsQl. Data are evaluated by ANOVA and Tukey statistical method. In conclusion we disprove the hypothesis that commuter students have a healthier lifestyle than students staying at the dorms. We confirm the positive effect of educational program on quality of life for boarding students statistically significant in the group of girls. We also confirm that the effect of the program lasted three months

Usage of the product in school canteens
Vodička, Jan ; Šánová, Petra (advisor) ; Hrubcová, Barbora (referee)
The thesis is focused on the consumer interest in a new product on the market, for this purpose, freshly chopped apples in a hygienic bag with a shelf life of 12 days. The aim of this thesis is to determine whether school representatives will show interest in this product or not. The methodology of the work itself involves the creation and evaluation of two questionnaire surveys, which were attended by 69 school representatives and 116 parents of children aged 3 to 15 years. The results of the survey have shown that these schools cannot offer children fresh, washed, hygienically prepared fruit, designated for direct consumption on field-trips, sporting events, etc., hence they would be willing to buy this new product for children in schools. The questionnaire survey, which concerned children's parents, showed that parents do not find the offer of fruit and healthy food in schools sufficient and they would like this product to be sold mostly in school cafeterias and snack machines.
