Fine properties of functions and operators
Kubíček, David ; Pick, Luboš (advisor) ; Slavíková, Lenka (referee)
We establish the equivalence between the boundedness of certain supremum operators and optimal spaces in Sobolev embeddings. We do this by exploiting known relations between higher-order Sobolev embeddings and isoperimetric inequalities. We provide an explicit way to compute both the optimal domain norm and the optimal target norm in a Sobolev embedding. Finally, we apply our results to higher-order Sobolev embeddings on John domains and on domains from the Maz'ya classes. Furthermore, our results are partially applicable to embeddings involving product probability spaces. 1
Operators related to Fourier transform
Buriánková, Eva ; Honzík, Petr (advisor) ; Ryabogin, Dmitry (referee) ; Slavíková, Lenka (referee)
This manuscript provides an overview of known results in the theory of singular integral operators and multilinear multipliers as well as new results in this context. The first such result we describe is boundedness of rough maximal bilinear singular integrals on Lp spaces which is a part of the first attached paper. The same problem is discussed for a special kind of bilinear operator consisting of smooth bumps, this result is a part of the attached paper number two. Finally we attack the multilinear case of the same type of operator and present a result which is a part of an upcoming paper.
Subjective speed of time flow
Slavíková, Lenka ; Bahbouh, Radvan (advisor) ; Stehlík, Luděk (referee)
The following thesis deals with psychological time, duration of time and primarily the subjective speed of time. In the theoretical part the theories of time perception and the theories of time acceleration with age are presented. In the empirical part a hypothesis about the acceleration of subjective time with age is tested. In contrast to popularly held view that time passes faster with increasing age, empirical data do not support this assumption. A questionnaire mapping the impressions of the speed of time was administered to a sample of 101 respondents from three age groups (adolescents, adults and seniors). The newly developed Subjective time speed inventory (ISRČ) and Zimbardo time perspective inventory (ZTPI) were also included. Most respondents agree with the statement that time seems to pass faster now than before and that time seems to pass fast. Testing the main research hypothesis about the acceleration of time with age, however, finds no significant differences in perceived speed of time along with age (Kruskal-Wallis test). Significant difference in relation to age was found only in the speed measurement by means of ISRČ (Kruskal-Wallis test). Adolescents achieved significantly higher raw score than adults and seniors by means of ISRČ (Mann-Whitney U test). This result implies that...
Duality for weak Lebesgue spaces
Musilová, Anna ; Slavíková, Lenka (advisor) ; Peša, Dalimil (referee)
When p ∈ (0, 1), both the dual and the associate space of the weak Lebesgue space Lp,∞ contain only the zero function. In this thesis, we study a different method of dualization of the weak Lebesgue space. Then we extend it to more general function spaces. 1
Effective Communication when Leading Working Teams
Chalupová, Jarmila ; Gottwaldová, Věra (advisor) ; Slavíková, Lenka (referee)
The final bachelor work deals with the meaning of effective communication by leasing of start members. It analyse principles of communication skills as well as a fed bac kupon the communication. Evaluation belongs to an integral part of the work. Views of workers from various type sof schools and educational facilities can be found compared here.
