Institutional arbitration procedure
Pressburgerová, Lucia ; Dobiáš, Petr (referee) ; Růžička, Květoslav (advisor)
60 INSTITUTIONAL ARBITRATION Summary As diverse the disputes arising in everyday life are, so different are the methods developed over the time to settle them, ranging from methods of alternative dispute resolution to arbitration and court proceedings. In recent years an increasing number of disputes resolved in arbitration and the fact that arbitration is being used to settle not only international and property disputes, gave rise to many studies on arbitration dealing among others with institutional arbitration. The purpose of my thesis is to analyse arbitration, concentrating on arbitration offered by arbitration institutions in contrast to ad hoc arbitration and arbitration before so called "arbitration centres", as the number of them keeps growing in the Czech Republic and in many cases they confusingly appeal to a laic person to represent a permanent arbitration institution. The thesis is divided into five chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of arbitration. Arbitration is being defined as a legal technique for the resolution of disputes outside the courts, wherein the parties to a dispute refer it to one or more persons (the arbitrators, or arbitral tribunal), by whose decision (the award) they agree to be bound. It is a settlement technique in which a third party reviews the case...

Title: Relationship between quality of serving and the defensive phase at net in men Volleyball at the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing. Objective: The purpose of this thesis was to find out relationship between quality of serving and the defensive phase at net in elite volleyball teams. The thesis should also give a more detailed view on progress of this relationship in time, and to show what is the character of the relationship in best teams. Methods: The main method used in this work was, standardized indirect observation. We observed matches on Olympic volleyball tournament 2008, in Beijing, where we assessed the selected playing activities on 5-degree scale. After that, we applied one-dimensional methods of statistical analysis to find out statistical significance (chi-square test) and methods of objectively-logical analysis. Results: The results refer to significant relationship between quality of serving and the defensive phase at net. This relationship appears to be stable in time, independent on changes made in volleyball (rally point system, libero specialization). By comparing of this relationship in best teams we did not find statistically significant differences, but we consider as a big advantage for team to be able to group a two-person block after poor quality service. Key words:...

Approach to a new state - Israel 1945-1948
Kankrlík, Tomáš ; Tumis, Stanislav (advisor) ; Kovář, Martin (referee)
This work deals with the one of the longest running conflict in a modern history - Arab--Israeli conflict. The origins of Jewish pursuit to establish new independent state in the Middle East date back to the second half of the nineteenth century, namely to the times dominated by European's anti-Semitism. Nevertheless, this area in the Middle East called Palestine does not only represent Jewish ideal place to live but has the same importance for Arabs. Since the end of the World War II Jewish refugees have been heading the Middle East area in thousands facing various inevitable effects of Arabian nationalism. We must not forget notable roles of the Great Britain; lately the United States and the United Nations that performed mandate administration of Palestine. I focus on affairs between 1945 and 1948 that led to establishment of a new Jewish state. I will analyze this whole process and its problems. My project will be based on published source-books and the latest technical bibliography.

EU and the Kyoto Protocol: EU Cumate Policy in the Context of World-Wide Activities
Kroupová, Sylvie ; Rovná, Lenka (advisor) ; Weiss, Tomáš (referee)
EU AND THE KYOTO PROTOCOL: EU climate policy in the context of world-wide activities This thesis discusses the role of the European Union in the process of international negotiations on the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework convention on Climate Change, which sets the targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the ratifying countries. With these negotiations the world-wide climate policy was launched. The EU introduced itself as the world leader on the field of promoting high targets and a maximum range of domestic actions. In the international negotiation process, which was in run since 1992, EU had to urge other major emitters of greenhouse gases, above all the United States and Russia, on ratifying the Kyoto protocol. After the US had declined the Protocol, the EU put a great effort in bringing Russia to ratification of the Protocol so that it could enter into force. The EU was also the main initiator of further discussions on climate change strategy in the post-Kyoto period since 2012. As the process of the Protocol's ratification took almost six years, the EU has started its own climate policy with the aim of fulfilling its Kyoto targets. The examination of the EU climate policy domestic actions is the second and the main target of this thesis. In the conclusion I have discussed the...

Kučera, Tomáš ; Martínek, Jindřich (advisor) ; Čech, Svatopluk (referee) ; Mokrý, Jaroslav (referee)
Nitric oxide is a free radical that plays number of important roles in the organism. Among the best known are its effects in cardiovascular, nervous and immune system. However, as the knowledge about this molecule is expanding, it is becoming obvious that NO is involved in many other physiological processes. The importance of NO is given also by its ability to influence various pathological processes. It was found that the role of NO can be both beneficial and detrimental depending on various circumstances, mainly on the local level of NO production. The potential of nitric oxide to influence the process of programmed cell death and cell proliferation belongs to its important properties. There were reported numerous controversial effects on these processes, which result depended on the particular cell type and its actual physiological or pathological circumstance. The aim of the thesis was to contribute to the better knowledge of the NO role in programmed cell death - apoptosis and in cell proliferation. With respect to the currently known specific effects in various tissues and organs the research was focused on several different pathological conditions. At the same time, several in vitro models were combined with in vivo undertaken observations. The experimental rats and primary rat hepatocytes were used...

Stará Boleslav (Central Bohemia) - Přemyslid stronghold in the early middle ages
Boháčová, Ivana ; Klápště, Jan (advisor) ; Sláma, Jiří (referee) ; Moždzioch, Slawomir (referee)
Boleslav is one of the most frequently mentioned Czech Early Medieval sites in the written records of the Middle Ages. The reason for this is an event that took place here, at the seat of a member of the ruling Přemyslid family, and which was a key moment in the formative period of the early Czech state - the murder of Prince Wenceslas by his brother Boleslav. Until the end od the 1980's the reports of such written sources, which were concerned mainly with the person of Prince Wenceslas, were essentially the only source of information about the site, which - as a place belonging to the Přemyslids and later a capitular seat played an importatn role in the early period of the development of the Přemyslid state in particular, although in the late Middle Ages its importance declined. Economic aspects of health in modern society
Diskutuje rizika a příležitosti rostoucí potřeby a spotřeby zdravotní péče vyplývající z ekonomického rozvoje, stavu determinantů zdraví a změn v chování lidí, které sebou přináší rychlý vývoj současného světa.
