Educational Assessment of graphomotor skills and their development in preschool children

The diploma thesis deals with problems of pedagogical diagnostics of the writing-motoric and visual-motoric functions and possibilities of their development in the practice of the kindergarten teacher. There are the starting points clarified in the theoretical part, which relate to the objectives, tasks, methods, forms and content of preschool education in the context of school maturity. The school readiness and its fields with a narrower focus on monitored sub- components of a school maturity and also the action and the influence of the kindergarten in this area is clarified and described. Also the professional competencies and duties of the preschool teacher are defined here. The concept of pedagogical diagnostics, the theoretical foundations of methods and instruments of pedagogical diagnostics are analyzed in details. A direct diagnostic activity in combination with the theoretical bases and approaches is stressed here. These theoretical findings are further applied in the practical with a focus on writing- motoric and visual-motoric function. The main research problem addressed in the practical part of this work are the options and ways to support children's development in the last year of kindergarten before the start of compulsory schooling and finding ways to contribute as much as possible...
The graphomotory and drawing of preschool age children with Developmental Language Disorder

This bachelor thesis is focused on the area of graphomotorics and drawing with pre-school children diagnosed with developmental dysphasia. The thesis aims to the level of these areas at several children with this diagnose. The author inquires whether the drawing and graphomotoric skills at the research sample are impacted by the developmental dysphasia. Next, the thesis deals with possible changes of these levels during the inquiry.
Assessment of Selected Areas of Preschooler's Maturity

1 ABSTRACT The aim of this thesis is the assessment of the level of individual aspects of school maturity in preschool children attending a kindergarten. The first part of the thesis describes the visual perception, motor activity and spatial orientation with a special emphasis on the structure. The second part of the thesis deals with the characteristics of preschool children and their development in individual areas outlined in the first part of the thesis. This is followed by diagnostics of individual aspects of school maturity with a detailed description of pedagogic diagnostics and its types and methods. The final part of the thesis focuses on the assessment of the level of the visual perception, graphomotor skills, and spatial orientation. This evaluation is based on three tests of school maturity. The comparison of the obtained data represents a core of the thesis. The proposition of three hypotheses is followed by a comparison of the results of two tests evaluating individual aspect of school maturity. The quantitative type of research has been used for the purpose of this analysis.
Signature of Preschool Age Children

This bachelor thesis is focused on a research of preschool aged children's signature. It consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. In the theoretical part there is an analysis of preschool age and its characteristics from the emotional, graphomotor and sensual evolution including socialization process. Further it deals with various researches studying the topic of evolution of children's signature and preferring individual letters of their names. The basis of this work is the empirical part, whose goal is to find out the children's skills while writing the name, its special status in children's writing and reading skills, knowledge of letters and uniqueness of letters contained in their names from the beginning of their school attendance when they are not mostly able to read and write. The research is based on methods of questioning using the worksheets with tasks, semi-structured interview with chosen children and follow-up analysis of signatures. In the interviews I have been finding out answers in four categories of questions. Special Educational Intervention in Children with Specific Language Impairment in the Kindergarten

This Masters thesis focuses on issues of Specific Language Impairment - SLI of children of pre-school age. It monitors and evaluates development of their communication and motor skills during their time in kindergarten. The theoretical part focuses on defining basic terms which relate to communication and communication disorder with the emphasis on SLI. The psychomotor and communicational development of child from birth to entering school is described too. Also how this all affected creating the Framework Educational Programme for preschool education. The aim of the empirical part was to observe four children with SLI during their attendance at a pre-school for children with specific needs. Speech and psychomotor development of these children and its changes in connection to their teachers' intervention was observed. Part of the research included interviews with children's parents and those are also evaluated. The survey was done by the qualitative method. We get four case histories. At the end was evaluated the aims of the survey and answered questions asked and summarized the results of my investigation.
Graphomotor and Writing Development in Early Elementary Education

The thesis focuses on the graphomotor and writing development in early elementary education. Some school beginners struggle with various difficulties while acquiring writing skills. In case of more significant difficulties that persist those may influence children's success at school in a negative way. Besides the confidence can be affected. The educationist should help to get over the writing obstacles and try to reduce the period of inadequate solution of difficulties which are fixed. The theoretical part summarizes knowledge about the graphomotor and writing development in early elementary education and its consequences. The thesis tries to pinpoint the necessary connection of discovered knowledge about script, preschool training for writing, early elementary writing teaching also diagnostic aktivity, prevention and intervention concerning difficulties. It directs attention to some crucial moments which may influence beginning of writing acquiring. The Development of Fine Motoric and Grapho-Motor in Children with Speach Disorders

This work is focused on the development of grapho- motor skills in children in a class with modified education programme. The development of motor, intellectual and speech functions in 6 children with impaired communication skill who attended a class with modified education programme in a nursery school were observed within a year. Exercising of fine motor and grapho- motor skills was performed daily beside the routine school programme. Case studies of these children were worked out. The results of these children were compared to the results of a group of 20 children of the same age in a common class of nursery school. Differences in all monitored parameters have been found. The most expressive were the differences in the area of speech functions between both groups. On the other hand, an approximation to the standard of drawing can be seen when comparing figure drawing in these children and in the drawings of their peers from a common class.
