The Gender Segregation of the Labour Market in Czech Republic

This work presents complex look at the issue of gender segregation of the labour market in the Czech republic. Gender segregation in the labour market is one of the main causes of gender inequality. It causes different representation of men and women in different occupations and working positions. Author describes womens' position in the labour market and follows with data analysis, that shows existence of this problem in the Czech republic and its' range. She presents basic theories explaining gender segregation of the labour market and examines its' causes and effects. She devides segregation into the horizontal and vertical segregation, which are eventually connected to show the degree of overall segregation. Horizontal segregation refers to disproportionate representation of men and women in different sectors and jobs. Vertical segregation shows their presence in various working positions. The degree of segregation has only been decreasing very slowly during the past 20 years and the Czech labout market is still highly segregated into female and male occupations. This segregation causes social and wage differentiation which is detrimental to women.

The results of surveys and estimates ratify that before men and women exist permanently to many inequalities in the labor market, which lead to make women disadvantageous in labour process. In my work I decribed and explained the most important and most frequent inequalities, which are in the labour market. The most frequent inequalities are different salary of men and women and different access of employers to women, which simultaneously penetrate into others types of inequalities. I simultaneously described factors inductive these economic inequalities. The most important economic inequality are educational attainment, field of aducation and family situation. Next part of my work is case study, that researche inequalities before men and women in Obi Ruyzně company. This company is special because of belong to services idustry, where women work most frequently and company that sell technical products assortments that are "typical" for men. In this company are special inequalities. This case study look about inequalities nad access of employment to men and women.
Women in the context of work and family role balance. Motherhood and career pathing as two main imperatives of contemporary women's life

The Bachelor thesis deals with three groups of strategies for reconciliation of work and family roles of contemporary Czech women. The strategies are devided according to three ideal types of women. These ideal types are women who are seeking to harmonize work and family life, than women working only in the sphere of employment, and - finally only women in the sphere of family and household. The text is devoted to various three types of women and to specific groups of women, which are linked with these ideal types according to their character. In the second part of the thesis an analysis of tools is made which could help to work-life balance in the Czech Republic, namely the tools provided by two subjects, which are the state and employers. Furthemore, in this part barriers are analyzed, which prevent women from successful reconciliation of private and public life. These barriers are also divided into those that come from the state and those from employers. Resources for processing the thesis are secondary data obtained by literature research and primary data from interviews with actors (qualitative method). Equal opportunities for men and women in light of labor market

RESUMÉ This thesis is focused on the equal opportunities for men and women in the labor market. It contains basic terminology and argumentation as well as legislative bases, describes labor market segregation, ways of implementation of the equal opportunities into the company's politics and forms of their use, economical impacts and some examples of best practices. Beside the theoretical bases it also captures particular data and situations in the Czech Republic. I was inspired by printed publications, internet sources and my own practical experience.
Discrimination of older persons in their access to employment

The thesis "Discrimination of older persons in their access to employment"focuses on the discrimination problem of persons over 50 years of age when they look for a job. The discrimination is one of the factors that prevent older persons from entering the labor market, which affects not only those persons but the whole society as well. At first, the thesis determines the theoretical concepts, which it comes from. Those concepts go through the whole thesis. Further on, it outlines a brief survey of national and European legal norms that deal with the given problem. It also introduces institutions that manage the problem and that we can contact in case of encounter with discrimination. In the next part, the thesis focuses on the negative aspects of discrimination and on the occurrence frequency of discrimination itself in the Czech Republic, particularly in the job advertisements and during job interviews. The practical part of the thesis concentrates on the discrimination of person over 50 in the district of Teplice, both from the point of view of the unemployed persons and the employees of the Labor Office. The final part identifies main fields of problems, which it propose possible solutions for.
Discrimination against women between the 20 to 30 years of their age when they are trying to find a job on the labor market in the Czech Republic between the years 2015 and 2016

The thesis deals with discrimination against women between the 20 to 30 years of their age when they are trying to find a job on the labor market. The aim of this paper is to determine whether there is some violation of women´s rights through requesting information unrelated to work performance. If so, what effect does such discriminatory conduct to obtain employment. The main task is to confirm or reject the hypothesis, which says: women who are subjected to discriminatory questions during the job interview are less successful in getting a job than women who are not discriminated. Necessary data are collected through quantitative sociological research, which examines the experiences of female respondents participating in job interviews in the Czech Republic between the years 2015 and 2016. The results are compared to other gender statistics. Other partial objectives are to approach gender strategy in the Operational Programme Employment 2014-2020, unequal pay and approach the problem of reconciling work and private life. The result is a confirmation of the hypothesis and also I find ratio discriminated women who were mostly asked discriminatory questions about their personal status and planned pregnancy.

This thesis is focused on the issue of women in managerial positions in a selected construction company. It analyzes the situation of women in the company, gender in the management and gender integration in the company. The specific problems of women in this company’s management are characterized on a basis of a survey. At the end of this thesis there are practical suggestions regarding how women can assert themselves on managerial positions with possible contribution to the company.
Workplace diversity in the company CSOB

This thesis deals with diversity and its level in the company CSOB. The main objective is to describe the current situation, make an analysis, identify strengths and weaknesses and come up with suggestions for the company and government, which would have positive effect on diversity. The methods used in this work include an analysis of internal documents, comparison of theory and practise and personal interview with responsible manager. The thesis is divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is based on study of literature, legislation and actual studies and focuses on definitions and theoretical bases. The practical part contains an introduction of CSOB and evaluation of the state support effectiveness. Next part is focused on description of current activities in the company that support diversity and analysis of its current level. The final part contains recommendations for the company and government that should lead to an improvement of the current situation.
Equal opportunities for men and women focused on the labour market in Sweden and Czech republic in the years 2004-2014

Bachelor thesis is concerned with the issue of equal opportunities for men and women on the labour market. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the position of women on the labour market in Sweden and Czech republic in the years 2004-2014. In the theoretical part there are defined basic terms related to the concept of equal opportunities. Tools for promoting gender equality are introduced in form legislative framework, institutional assurance and financial support in the European Union. The empirical part is focused on the comparative analysis of the position of women on the labour market by basic statistic indicator differentiated by gender. Attention is given to the gender segregation on the labour market and the gender pay gap. In the last chapter are formulated measures to improve the situation of women on the czech labour market. This thesis refers to inequality positions of women on the labour market which can be overcome by changing of gender stereotypes, support the balance between work and family, flexible forms of work or formulation of family policy
