Games and Game Activities in Teaching French Language

This thesis deals with method of activation of didactic games and its application into the teaching process. It's focused on the theoretical description and also on the practical use in the teaching of the French language. This method is introduced as one of the ways how to practice language in funny form, but also to gain new knowledge and language skills. We will describe its major aspects and also its place in the curriculum documents as well. We will emphasize its benefits, but also the possible difficulties in its application into the teaching of foreign language. We will mention the process of the game and the atmosphere appropriate to it's use too. In the practical part we will focus on the activities which are suitable for level A0 to A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Functions of an educational game in the 4th and 5th grades of primary school

The final thesis deals with the form and function of an educational game to be used in the 4th and 5th grades of primary school. It will deal with appropriate educational games for these pupils based on their emotional, intellectual and social development. Additionally, it will describe the method for how to categorize different kinds of educational games and how to include them in educational process. In the practical component, there is a comparison of opinions about an educational game between newly qualified and experienced teachers. The opinions of pupils and their evaluation of the specific games are also included. It includes a file of educational games as well which is based on a classification from the theoretical part.
Didactically modified memory game in French at the primary school

Anotation This thesis proposes a new structure of a memo game that is modified so it can be a part of a French class. It is discussed in wider perspective: besides the didactic of foreign language it touches also the intercultural domain or development of key competencies. Theoretic part elaborates on psychological and didactic bases from which the new concept of the memo game arise. The benefit of playing games in classes is also specified. Other games which can be played with the designed cards as well as reflections of these games are given in the practical part. These reflections allow the modified games to be more effective during French classes. Reflections also contain general didactic questions solved in the didactic of a foreign language.
Play activities for development of prosocial behaviour and perception of children in kindergartens

Play activities in kindergartens are the key method for general development of a child between tree and six years of age. In personality-orientated education the free, induced and didactic play is the starting point for the development of children's prosocial behaviour and perception. In the theoretical part the meanings of the play types are explained with regards to age specifications focusing on the development of children's prosocial behaviour and perception. The practical part verifies the possibilities of plays with prosocial targets and their influence on prosocial behaviour and perception of children in selected classed. It surveys typical problem situations which arise while playing and shows the models of their solution.
Use of didactical games in teaching mathematics at the lower secondary level

This thesis entitled "Use of didactical games in teaching mathematics at the lower secondary level" deals with the use of educational games in math classes at secondary schools. This work is composed of two main parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part introduces the concepts of the game, didactic game, math games. More specifically focus on the modification of the board game Monopoly. The practical part is devoted to quantitative research, which determines what is the attitude of mathematics teachers of lower secondary school teaching to the use of games in education, as well as focus on the views and experiences of students with didactic game. Also, the work compares the written test of the curriculum for the class that graduated mathematical hour with the inclusion of educational games monopolies and class that this teaching not undergone.
Pedagogical feedback in didactic games during the first period of primary school

This thesis deals with didactic game in the first two grades of primary school with an emphasis on getting the feedback. The information processed in the theoretical part contains an analysis of childhood game from a psychological point of view, also relevant to the specifics of educational game, its preparation and subsequent teaching process. Furthermore it deals with principles involved in the feedback management and its benefits for pupils and for teacher. The practical part describes the actual situation of the educational game implementation during classwork in three different educational programs. It is supplemented by interviews with teachers and pupils and my own pedagogical action research.
Employing Computer-Assisted Practise of Grammar School Biology Curriculum

Growing knowledge in the field of cognitive science can significantly improve the way we learn. Several methods and principles are being repeatedly confirmed by numerous studies as effective for learning. They include spaced repetition, test-enhanced learning, and desirable difficulty principle. With the continual spreading of ICT technologies, diverse software is being developed as well, some of which more and some of which less successfully employs the methods and principles outlined. Memrise, Purpose Games and Drill and Skill, web platforms which are examined in this thesis, belong to this software family. In the first phase, i conducted several interviews with teachers who were using Drill and Skill as part of their science teaching at elementary schools and a junior grammar school (all of them were teaching children approx. 11-15 years old). After this, i worked with a class from a grammar school (age around 16). i made several groups of educational games to help the students practice the topics studied in their biology lessons. Each group of games was reviewed during a group interview. Recordings from these interviews as well as from the interviews with the teachers were transcribed and these transcripts underwent qualitative analysis, which is an important part of the thesis.
