The role of peacekeeping in resolving ethnopolitical conflict: Comparative study of Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Cyprus
Šinkovičová, Martina ; Karásek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bureš, Oldřich (referee)
Diploma thesis deals with the connection between the nature of implemented peacekeeping operation and possible positive output of this activity and thus with successful peacebuilding in the specific context of etnopolitical conflicts. Etnopolitical disputes constitute a vivid challenge aimed towards United Nations organisation. Mainly, because this organisation is one of the main actors of international system in finding solutions of etnopolitical conflicts and because United Nations also proposes concrete tools for their resolving - peacekeeping missions. We work with assumption that the nature of etnopolitical conflict and the nature of conflicting parties involved influence, to an important extent, involvement and impact of peacekeeping operations in resolving these conflicts. Diploma thesis, through the use of theories of origin and solvability of ethnic conflicts, creates the framework within which their more complicated solvability can be explained as well as inhibitors of theoretically successful models. Likewise, the typology of peacekeeping operations is defined and also narrower understanding of peacebuilding, as a set of political and security aspects, is described. Datas from four case studies then offer an opportunity to formulate partial endings and findings of examined causal relation. C lick...

Analysis of television program for children Kouzelná školka in year 2010
Smrčková, Hana Marie ; Wolák, Radim (advisor) ; Kocourková, Lucie (referee)
This work examines an entertainment programme for preschool children Kouzelná školka. It uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative content analysis. Selection of focused attributes is based on the wide range of theoretical literature and empirical researches. For example it analyses themes of education, moral values, fear, adventures, violence, interactivity, storytelling or gender differences. Quantification of focused contents is just first step of this work. It aims not only on the question WHAT we can find in this programme, but rather WHY we can find it and HOW it can affect children audience. Analytic part consists of two main chapters: Summary content analysis and Cast of moderators. In these chapters it brings results of summarising analysis for whole examined materials and partial analysis for each moderator's broadcast. Outputs are discussed with theoretical background of this work and to join it with current practice it also focuses on the motivation of the program creators. The main aim of this work is to map and evaluate (based on established criterion) the state of medial, concretely television, environment and products for preschool children.

Political Aspects of Municipal Authorities- Case study of Town district Prague 10
Vinš, Martin ; Kopřiva, Radek (advisor) ; Kobzev Kotásková, Sylvie (referee)
Althought many renowned political scientists, sociologists and economists are concerned with voting behavior of electorate on the national level the study of voting behavior on the municipal level paradoxically remains marginalized. The main objective of this Bacher thesis is to use one of the models of voting behavior, which is used to interpret voting of electorate on the national level to communal level and assess its meaningful ability. Selected area for this study is Town district Prague 10 and choosen concept of voting behavior is model of party identification. Partial main objective of this Bacher thesis is also to find out if there is some kind of relationship between an extent of party identification and socioeconomical factors affecting voters of this town district. Elemental socioeconomical factors, which size of impact is observed in this Bacher are sex, age, level of education, economic status and religion.

Choosing a career of a nurse
Hlinovská, Jana ; Koťa, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Pelikán, Jiří (referee)
This disertation is focused on problems of a nurse profession choice. The aim of this work is to map out social and personal aspects of the first stage of a professional orientation. External (social) and internal (personal) categories are very close, they influence each other and they are affected by many conditions. The task of a part of this work was to record differences in chosen variabilities of adolescents in individual school grade s and to map some differences in the results of Ms Gabrielová research from 1991. In an empirical retrospective study we tried to explain casual nexus on the basis of a quantitative data processing. A statistical selective group was made up by 422 respondents-students of three medical schools who attended a full-time nurse study in an academic year 2003/2004. Intra-research we produced a new implement called A questionnaire for students of secondary medical schools. Our research verified the principle hypothesis which conserned more general relations and inc1uded more partial hypothesis. External and internal factors intervene in a choice of a secondary medical school and a nurse profession at students of secondary medical schools. We could divide our respondents in two groups. The first half of them we considered as stronger motivated ones for studying and further for...

Elastomer fillers as a potential raw material for concrete and mortar products
Jankech, Filip ; Balog, Oliver (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
To attain a sustainable development in the field of building materials, it is necessary to consider environmental, economic, and social aspects of the industrial production. This thesis addresses the first two aspects. Both theoretical and practical research were implemented in order to study the possibility to replace the commonly used RDPs, that are being used in the dry-mix mortar industry as a primary additive, with the industrially processed elastomer waste materials, such as recycled tire rubber. The review of the scientific literature processed within the theoretical research discloses the state of the art in the field of polymer modification of the mortar products and the effect of the commonly used modifiers and elastomer fillers on the performance of mortar and concrete products. The experimental research was implemented to study the possibility of the replacement of the RDPs for the elastomer fillers. The performance of fresh and hardened mortar containing various amounts of elastomer particles was studied. The results indicate, that the partial replacement could be feasible without worsening the performance of the product.

Factors influencing the transition of university graduates into the labour market
Mitkovová, Daniela ; Kuchař, Pavel (advisor) ; Soukup, Petr (referee)
The thesis is devoted to problem of transition of university graduates into the labor market. Having very complex character this situation is affected by many factors on both system and individual level. The starting point is the theory of human capital and the importance of its individual components. The paper focuses on activities that transcend mainly theory-oriented framework of university studies. These activities have been specified as working while studying, internships, studying or training in abroad. By the means of them university graduates can invest in their human capital and develop their competencies, and thereby increase their chances for better work in the form of higher income. Whether this in fact occurs was verified by secondary analysis of quantitative data from a research project REFLEX. Through multiple linear regression models was explored the influence of partial activities in comparison with the influence of variables indicative of the level of tertiary education on the gross income of university graduates from technical, economic and social science study programs. Finally, depending on the implementation of the partial activities differences in estimating own level of university graduates' competencies were evaluated.

Paris, I Love You
Jindřichová, Markéta ; Bendová, Helena (advisor) ; Čeněk, David (referee)
JINDŘICHOVÁ, M.: Paris, je t'aime. Thematic study. Bachelor's thesis. Academy of performing arts in Praque. Film and TV school. Audiovisual studies. Supervisor Mgr. Helena Bendová. Key words: Paris, je t'aime, omnibus feature, representaion of city in motion pictures, authorial style, french cinematography, thematic study My bachelor's thesis deals with a thematic analysis of a omnibus feature called "Paris, Je T'aime". The basic concept of this movie is that in every short story there should appear some love theme (in any form). The text contains an interpretation of partial fragments (both content and formal) as well as interpretation of the whole film itself. I am comparing different ways of how directors are dealing with the main motive in the same way as transitions between each narratives are resolved. Each story takes place in one of the Parisian quarters, Arrondissements as they are called, and - with regards to the main concept ? handles love in it's own way. Each director coped with the short footage of six minutes differently. Some stories are brilliant, same failures. In the end the whole movie looks like an incoherent anthology of unrelated pieces. This film misses an authorial overview which would offer some meaning to these fragments and would create a compact piece.

The journey of Princess Eleonore of Schwarzenberg to Great Britain in 1838 and her son Walter Prosper
Bouška, Jan ; Županič, Jan (advisor) ; Horčička, Václav (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is the reconstruction of the 1838 journey of prince Johann Adolf II. of Schwarzenberg to Great Britain, as described by his wife, princess Eleonore née of Lichtenstein, who accompanied him. In the connection with the British journey of the couple, the thesis also deals with their son, prince Walter Prosper, conceived along the way to Britain. With regard to the premature death of prince Walter, the focus is primarily on his funeral ceremony and the connected rituals. To explore the chosen topic, a lot of archive material, that had not been processed before, was used. Based on said archives, a partial reconstruction of the journey was possible, from the point of view of Eleonore, who is a rather overlooked figure in historiography. Additionally, the funeral ritual of prince Walter is described and compared with common funerals of Schwarzenberg family. Key words: Schwarzenberg family, Eleonore of Schwarzenberg, journey, Great Britain, Johann Adolf II. of Schwarzenberg, Walter Prosper, death, funeral, burial, ritual, crypt
