Fexa, Marek ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Jelínek, Pavel (referee)
This work is focused at new Microsoft technology for querying data LINQ (Language intergrated query). It is built as complex technology, it allows working with various data sources. For example it contains collections of objects, created for temporary storing data in memory, but also data in robust database systems. In first part of this work I describe how data was queried before LINQ was on scene and what reasons made LINQ originate. Then I analyze new features in C# that were prerequisites for creating language integrated query as part of base libraries. Next part focuses at query operators, their interfaces and provides examples of use. Then I describe LINQ technology in complex, I create and describe in detail process of execution of LINQ query. Next chapter describes querying ADO.NET Datasets. Practical examples are created for both typed and untyped Datasets. In following chapter I analyze LINQ to SQL functionality. There is described method of implementation, mainly translation LINQ query to SQL language, integrated object rational mapping tool, change tracking in mapped objects including concurrency problems. At the end of the chapter I sketch the future in data access in ADO.NET entities. In last but one chapter is created complex application of use LINQ technology. Application is built as thin client that uses LINQ as for reading and manipulating data from relational database. In the application is LINQ also used common work with component that presents data. At the end part of this work is LINQ technology summarized. Contribution and pitfalls of LINQ technology are also described.

Language, text, pornography, semiotics

La méthode Tomatis: Une nouvelle perspective dans l'enseignement-apprentissage des langues Tomatis method: a new perspective in the pedagogy - teaching languages
Analysis of reading tests for pupils taught analytic-synthetic and genetic methods
Barešová, Pavlína ; Sotáková, Hana (referee) ; Kucharská, Anna (advisor)
Literacy as a knowledge of the written form of a language has nowadays an essential meaning for casual and successful function in the society. Be able to read and write is nowadays rather necessity than an extraordinary ability. The necessity of the functional literacy together with a demand on high level of the society intelligence lays considerable requirements on the child population. That results in a need for a higher effort to carry out measures which could lead to a reduction of number of children who are in danger of reading and writing malfunctions and reduction of bad readers. The thesis is thematically connected to my previous thesis (2009) in which I focused on finding the level of reading skills of pupils of the first semester of the first school year. The finding was based on the comparison of two different educational methods which are used in teaching the children (i.e. analytic-synthetic method and genetic method). The thesis comes from the project Three-level model of care carried out by IPPP ČR and in which I take part. The project tries to solve the main problem of pedagogical-psychological counselling within diagnostics of the special malfunctions of education (Czech abr. "SPU"), i.e. a question of a disunity of procedures used in a process of the diagnosis and a disunity of criteria...

The Czech EU presidency from the point of view of interpreters and delegates
Trubková, Jana ; Sládková, Miroslava (referee) ; Čeňková, Ivana (advisor)
Between January and June 2009, the Czech Republic assumed the rotating presidency of the European Union. All the meetings within the EU framework, of the ministers of the member states and of the work groups were led by Czechs. This semester represented an exceptional challenge in diplomatic and organizational terms. The present report concentrated on the objective of responding to the question: What were the greatest challenges faced by the interpreters who performed interpretation services from and to Czech? Because Czech was the language which served as the bridge between European delegates to the Czech presidency, the interpreters were an important link for the success of all the meetings. In Brussels, interpreting services were provided by Czech language interpreters belonging to DG SCIC and in the Czech Republic interpreting services were rendered at lower level meetings by a Czech provider of interpreting services, Artlingua. For this report we have used surveys to ascertain the interpreters' opinions with regard to their interpretation service experience during the Czech presidency, as well as to ascertain the delegates' opinions about the interpreting services rendered. Likewise, we compared the opinions of the Czech delegates with those of the foreign delegates. We replied that the services...
