Multidimensional Credibility
Zhuravova, Nadezda ; Mazurová, Lucie (advisor) ; Pešta, Michal (referee)
The aim of this graduation work is theoretically describe and also demonstrate the practical application of the theory of credibility in the multidimensional case. This theory is one of the most frequently used methods for calculating premiums, expected claims frequency or the expected average amount of damage. In this work we describe multidimensional Bühlmann-Straub credibility model and two- dimensional model with a known distribution. For each of these models we derive credibility estimate and examples of using these estimates in practice. Both models are compared on simulated data. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Comprehensive Web Audit Methodology
Sekulová, Kateřina ; Vlasák, Rudolf (advisor) ; Očko, Petr (referee)
A web site is often the first point of contact between the user and another person or company or organization, so that in the electronic world, a web site is like a calling card. Ideally therefore, a web site should load relatively quickly to prevent the user from looking elsewhere even before the web site has opened. Also, the web site should have a pleasant design to make it user-friendly, it should display helpful content, be widely accessible and, last but not least, fulfil the aims for which it was created. It is the responsibility of web site designers, programmers and creators to ensure that web sites fulfil their function. A web site audit - either during or after its construction - is the best way of checking that all factors relating to access, use, technical processes and other criteria function correctly. There are many audit companies on the market today, each of them offering the customer its own particular perspective, evaluation according to different criteria and audit conducted using various methods. Therefore, the first part of this work contains an overview of different perspectives used to assess the quality of web sites, as well as designers and the specific methodology they apply during web site audits. The theoretical part of this methodology ends with a way how the success and...
Central Bank Transparency and Price Stability
Katuščáková, Dominika ; Horváth, Roman (advisor) ; Luňáčková, Petra (referee)
The thesis investigates the central bank transparency employing the Monetary Policy Transparency Index. The main objective is to investigate recent trends in the central bank transparency. First, the level of monetary policy transparency is investigated from various aspects, as, for instance, time or geographical aspect. In the next part, all the data are averaged and linear regression analysis is carried out to detect the determinants of the monetary policy which explain the variation among the individual central banks. Finally, panel regressions are conducted to explore the time variation in the monetary policy transparency in the countries. Throughout the text, all the results are compared with the results presented in the paper by Dincer & Eichengreen (2009). The data show that the overall time trend in the level of monetary transparency is increasing. It can be concluded that inflation targeters are generally more transparent than countries with other frameworks. The same applies to advanced countries and emerging and developing countries. The de facto exchange rate regime and all political variables used significantly determine the variation in the monetary policy transparency comparing individual countries. GDP per capita and financial depth significantly influence the time variation in the...
Measuring the credibility of statement
Kvasničková, Barbora ; Čírtková, Ludmila (advisor) ; Konrád, Zdeněk (referee)
The aim of thesis is to evaluate the current practice of assessing the credibility of testimony in criminal proceedings and reflect on its current issues. In particular, it is necessary to resolve the question of the extent to the competence of an expert-psychologist in assessing process and the establishment of basic criteria according to which the experts proceed. I have chosen this topic because it's connecting criminal law and psychology which is important for society and a highly discussed in this time. Assessing the credibility is one of usual requests for expert psychologists from investigative, prosecuting and adjudicating bodies and it is also the most common, but often the most difficult part of psychological expertise. The thesis is composed of four chapters. The first chapter deals with the history of assessing the credibility. The second chapter describes the psychological expertise in criminal proceedings in our country and consists of four parts dealing with experts, expertise and evidence and evaluation of evidence in criminal procedure. The third chapter looks at assessing the credibility as a problem of professionals and it contains four parts. The first part defines the basis for assessing the credibility, the second part defines fundamental terms. The third part describes verbal and...
Disruption of movement or cohesion of groups through individuals
Vejmola, Jiří ; Neruda, Roman (advisor) ; Děchtěrenko, Filip (referee)
Title: Disruption of movement or cohesion of groups through individuals Author: Jiří Vejmola Department: Department of Theoretical Computer Science and Mathematical Logic Supervisor of the master thesis: Mgr. Roman Neruda, CSc., Institute of Computer Science of the ASCR, v. v. i. Abstract: Just a few of informed and like-minded individuals, guides, are needed to lead otherwise naive group. We look at some of the possible changes that can be caused by the presence of another informed individual with different intentions, an intruder. It is implied that he cannot cause anything significant under normal circumstances. To counter that and to increase his chances of success we intruduce a new parameter - credibility. We explore how it changes the overall behaviour. We show that by applying it to the intruder his influence over others increases. This in turn makes naive individuals more willing to follow him. We show that if the right conditions are met he can eventually become the one who leads the group. Keywords: multi-agent system, swarm intelligence, emergence, credibility
The Change of the Image of Photojournalism in Digital Era
Novák, Vojtěch ; Kera, Denisa (advisor) ; Vilgus, Petr (referee)
We will discuss here the issue of manipulation in the digital era of photojournalism. At first we will describe the relation between photography and its referent inculding its ability to represent the reality. Depicting the contrast between analogue and digital photography we will point out the independent position of digital photography from its referent, which is creating better possibilities for manipulation and decreasing the credibility of photography. Then we will analyze the text The Dusk of Photojournalism? that is reflecting these perspective and offering the solution increasing the position of the relation between photography and its referent. By contrast we will analyze the text called Photojournalism is dead, long live photojournalism. Why digitization can increase the credibility of journalistic photography? which considers this perspective as obsolete and offers us the new perspective of the relation between photography and its viewers, that could increase the credibility of photography in photojournalism. According to these two major perspectives we will point out whether it is possible to consider this option of photography - viewers relation as a relevant alternative. Based on these conclusions we will point out the major point of credibility of journalistic photography and imply...

Credibility approach to claims reserves calculation
Dzugas, Erik ; Mazurová, Lucie (advisor) ; Pešta, Michal (referee)
In this work we summarize the various techniques of claims reserves evaluating which consist in estimate of the future uncertain and hardly antici- pated loss development. It appears that the methods which are based on some credibility formula bring in the mean squared error sense the most accurate results. We consider this in the text derived conclusion very relevant and con- tributing, therefore we illustrate and present it on the numerical example. The calculations are introduced in the attached charts that build the important sup- plement of the text. The topic of this work follows up the content of Nonlife Insurance and Risk Theory lectures, therefore this text can be useful also for the students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics to extend their knowledge. 1
Analysis of the relationship between media popularit y and perceiving their credibility
Mičánek, Pavel ; Jirák, Jan (advisor) ; Wolák, Radim (referee)
The goal of our thesis was to study the relation between trust and media. Therefore, we have introduced some selected theoretical approaches of trust in relation to society and we have also formulated our own theoretical implications on the basis of this review which we have later used in our research of trust in media. In the theoretical part we have defined the concept of trust in terms of two key principals of trust based on the rational and intuitive understanding of trust. We have described hierarchical levels of trust in society and then we have focused on interpersonal and system level. We have reviewed selected theoretical approaches to trust and we have outlined the development of trust within sociology. We have explained the function of media in society and pointed out the reasons of the interest in studying trust in media together with the review of the concepts of media effects. Then we have briefly summarized the empirical research and mentioned the situation in the Czech Republic. Finally we have suggested some phenomenons that may cause the decrease in trust are named. In the research part we have concerned with the analysis between media source popularity operetionalised as a frequency of using of the media source and its credibility perceived by recipients. Another research goal...
