Comparison of anti biological protection of the CR with selected EU countries
SOUKUPOVÁ, Eva
Comparison of anti biological protection of the CR with selected EU countries The system of application of hygienic-epidemiological measures within the Czech Republic is based on Act No. 258/2000 Col. on public health protection and on modification of some related acts defining the system of the public health protection bodies and on Directive No. 440/2000 Sb. stipulating the conditions of prevention of occurrence and transmission of infectious diseases and hygienic requirements for operation of healthcare facilities. The individual tasks given to the public health protection bodies as well as to the Integrated Rescue System units may sometimes be misunderstood. These tasks must be known so as the set goals can be performed and thorough hygienic and epidemiological measures can be ensured. Each state has its own biological security system, which very often differs from that of the Czech Republic. To be able to ensure civil protection in the Czech Republic it is necessary to know the legislation provision or the system of biological agent detection in neighbouring countries, i.e. in Slovakia, in Germany, in Austria and in Poland, to make the cross-border cooperation more effective and reliable. The thesis compares the methods of anti-biological protection in the Czech Republic and in the neighbouring states. The thesis also provides information on the differences in legislation and in anti-biological protection application, from both, the basic as well as professional points of view. Upon these comparisons and upon set criteria a conclusion has been drawn that the Czech Republic is ready to cope with an attack by means of B-agents and that some country has more elaborated protection.

Housing Price Determinants in the Czech Republic
Markvartová, Lenka ; Hlaváček, Michal (advisor) ; Šolc, Jan (referee)
Housing market was considered stable until housing prices in many countries after global crises rapidly decreased. Still the development of housing prices and its determinants are unique for every country. The goal of this work is to find the factors that affect the housing prices in the Czech Republic using endogenous models. This type of econometric models enables to explore both short and long term relationships. The theoretical part of the work focuses on housing prices monitoring issues and the specific price development in the Czech Republic in comparison to other countries. Furthermore different level and development of housing prices in Prague are discussed. Due to this fact two types of tests are used - for the Czech Republic as a whole and for Prague separately. The variables housing loans included are based on previous results of Czech as well as foreign studies. Thanks to detected long term relationships an endogenous VECM model can be applied. It confirms bidirectional influence of housing prices and housing loan volume. This relationship could not have been analyzed sofar due to relatively short time series which limit the choice of particular models. My results suggest that growth in housing loan volume causes an increase in housing prices with more than one year delay. This effect...

Proteolytic Enzymes of Vegetative Forms and Spores of the Bacterium Paenibacillus larvae
Hrabák, Jaroslav ; Martínek, Karel (advisor) ; Kotyza, Jaromír (referee) ; Titěra, Dalibor (referee)
Due to the high resistance of the spores, the bacterium Paenibacillus larvae is the most dangerous bacterial pathogen of the honey bee (Apis mellifera). Thanks to its biological properties and restricted pathogenicity, this bacterium can be used as a model organism to study gram positive sporulating aerobic rods. This work is focused on completing information about secreted proteases of this bacterium and in a study of proteases bound in a spore structure. MYPGP medium was used for the cultivation of P. larvae. In this medium, lysis of the culture was shown after 40 hours of cultivation. The pH of the medium decreased below 6.4 by lysis. The induction of temperate bacteriophage BLA was detected as a causative agent of this lysis. A new sporulation medium called HCBB agar was proposed for the sporulation of P. larvae. In comparison with HCBB agar with MYPGP agar by 31 strains of P. larvae stored in our collection, HCBB agar was evaluated as an appropriate sporulation medium with a median of sporulatin 4.2 ' 106 spores per cm2 in aerobic conditions and 5.65 ' 106 spores per cm2 in aerobic conditions with 10 % CO2. For purification of the secreted proteases, a one-day culture incubated at room temperature was used. Optimal purification of 87/74 kDa and 42/40 kDa proteases was observed after application of this...

New findings of physiological and ecological aspects of hibernating bats
Ungrová, Zdislava ; Jahelková, Helena (advisor) ; Lučan, Radek (referee)
Bats can be found in almost all climatic zones. They have to deal with unfavorable conditions of environment to survive and reproduce sucessfully. Especially in temperate zones they have to deal with cold temperatures and lack of food during a winter season. To save energy bats enter a short, diurnal torpor or a hibernation. Usually, hibernation lasts all winter and is disturbed by short bouts of arousals. During both hibernation and torpor a physiological changes occur in bodies of bats. Body temperature decreases from endothermic levels, metabolic rates are reduced as well as respiratory rate and pulse. These changes are mainly influenced by weight and body size, diet, ambient temperature, sex and reproductive status. With the developement of new technologies, these changes can be measured more accurately than they have been in past, whether in a field or in a laboratory. But not all physiological processes are well explained. We have little knowledge especially about mechanism of arousal from hibernation. During awakening bats are infected by fungus Geomyces destructans that affects their immune system. In Norh America fungus causes a disease called White- Nose syndrome (WNS), that is responsible for death of millions of bats, especially endangered is Myotis lucifugus. In Europe, this disease is reffered...

Measuring of Living Standards and Quality of Life
Kadlecová, Jana ; Votava, Libor (advisor) ; Syrovátka, Oldřich (referee)
Bachelor thesis deals with the topic of standards of living and quality of life. Both of these concepts are defined and characterized in the performed research of literature. Further the possibilities of standards of living and quality of life measuring are described. In the second part the results of two chosen surveys are described and analy-zed. The first one is Human Development Index, the other is life satisfaction detected during European Quality of Life Survey. Closer description and analyses are focused on European Union, V4 states and Czech republic. The results of secondary analysis are summarized in the tables and graphs.

Automatic detection of spine axis in 3D CT data
Hříbková, Veronika ; Harabiš, Vratislav (referee) ; Jakubíček, Roman (advisor)
The thesis deals with the topic of automatic detection of spine axis in 3D CT data. The theoretical part discusses the basic principles of image processing and focuses on issues of collection and processing of medical image data, particularly data from X-ray computed tomography. The entire chapter is devoted to the principle of the creation of 2D and 3D CT images. Then the article about the anatomy of the axial skeleton is elaborated focusing on the anatomy of the spine. The second part is devoted to the proposal and implementation of methods of segmentation of the spine using a simple thresholding and morphological operations to locate the initial position of the spine axis with the definition of the beginning and the end of the axis using cross-correlation with created binar masks. Subsequent refinement of the position of the spine is done by segmentation of the spinal canal using a region growing method, when the starting points, located inside the spinal canal, are acquired by finding the centre of gravity of a vertebra or by Hough transform.

Neuroeconomics: The analysis of consumer behavior and perception of TV spots
Červenka, Petr ; Chytilová, Helena (advisor) ; Máslo, Lukáš (referee)
The thesis deals with the detailed study of two television commercials of an unnamed energy company. The aim of this work is to determine whether people's subjective evaluation is similar or different to values that were detected during the measurement, after viewing each commercial and in subsequent in-depth interviews. A sample of 24 respondents, who participated in the research, represented the composition of the economically active population in the Czech Republic. These were people of various ages, a combination of educational attainment and an evenly balanced gender ratio. Neurological measurement was done through an eye camera, brain responses were measured using electroencephalography (EEG), and changes in heart rate, skin resistance and body temperature were measured by photoplethysmography. The resulting data ispresented in graphs indicating emotional polarity and activity. The results show that respondent's verbal evaluation of their perception of ads is not necessarily identical with the values that are measured by the devices. The thesis concludes by recommending how to successfully target the so-called end user who uses the services of the company.

The thesis follows up the interpretation of the administrative proceedings pursuant to Act no. 500/2004 Coll., Administrative Procedure. It begins with the history and development of the administrative proceedings in the Czech Republic. The aim is to further clarify the basic principles of administrative bodies. The main part explains the general provisions on administrative proceedings, for example what administrative bodies exist, what is a participant in the proceeding and which tasks it makes. Further follows its own course of the proceedings at first instance. This is the initiation of the procedure, its progress and the possibility of an appeal. The last part deals with administrative proceedings under special laws. This is the procedure for non-payment of social security contributions and state employment policy. The thesis describes the methods of execution order from the social security against debtors
