The Czech Republic is from the early 90 years, reducing rates of overweight in CBT applications, which the company operates STOB Mgr. Iva Malkova. According to available information has not been done until now no research in these courses chartedabove the influence of selected cognitive factors on changes in body weight and also to monitor the change in energy intake (behavioral factor). The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between selected cognitive factors (self-efficacy - and with respect to the general dining behavior and physical activity, self-esteem, personal causal orientation restrictive way of eating behavior) and changes in body weight. At the same time the respondents will track changes in energy intakeduring therapy. The study is to verify the reliability of the Czech version of the WELquestionnaire (Weight Efficacy Life-Style Questionnaire), PSQ (Physical Self-Efficacy Questionnaire) and extended range of restrictive behaviors related to food, based on a questionnaire TFEQ (Three Factor Eating Questionnaire).

Values, interests and perspective of children from children's home
Dubcová, Martina ; Šotolová, Eva (advisor) ; Mlčková, Marie (referee)
1 Summary Children come into the establishment for institutional education from families that did not fulfill their function or did not meet the basic needs of the child. The parents of these children often perpetrated criminal acts, were under the influence of alcohol, neglected the children or in some cases even mistreated or abused them. The family was for these children often a negative image. The children spent part of their lives in a non-stimulating environment. These families influenced the personality of the child in a extremely negative way. Children from children's homes show handicaps already at a biological level. These children tend to have lower body measurements values, they suffer from different health handicaps, psychiatric disorders, their mental capacities are under average, they have attention disorders, heightened affectivity, heightened aggressiveness, etc. Children come into children's homes from dysfunctional families usually in their later school days, consequently, the family has had great influence during their early childhood and in some cases also during school age or adolescence. Some children visit their families even after they have been placed in children's homes, and are therefore still influenced by their parents. All these factors, among others, influence their...

Molecular genetic and clinical neurological exmaination in autosomal recessive forms of hereditary neuropathies Charcot-Marie-Tooth
Baránková, Lucia ; Bojar, Martin (advisor) ; Martásek, Pavel (referee) ; Voháňka, Stanislav (referee)
The Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) diseases are the most common inherited neuropathies. CMT is characterized clinically by distal muscle wasting and weakness, reduced reflexes and impaired distal sensation and by a sensory motor neuropathy neurophysiologically. The severity of the disease varies enormously depending to a large extent on the underlying genetic defect. The current clinical classification of CMT is done using electrophysiological criteria into type 1 (demyelinating) and type 2 (axonal) and further sub-classification is done according to inheritance pattern. A solely genetic classsification is not possible at present as all the causative genes for CMT are not known. Autosomal recessive CMT (AR CMT) forms are rare in European populations. The responsible genes have been discovered just in recent years. The disease has usually early onset and fast progressing and severe course. Mutations in GDAP1 gene (ganglioside- induced differentation associated proteine-1) soon showed to be the most common cause of CMT in families with AR pedigrees. They were found in patients with demyelinating (CMT4A) as well as axonal (CMT4C4) CMT. Common GDAP1 mutations are consquence of founder effect. Mutations in PRX (periaxin) gene are responsible for demyelinating CMT type (CMT4F). Approximately in a half of the CMT...

Start-up valuation
Körtvelyová, Adéla ; Krabec, Tomáš (advisor) ; Brabenec, Tomáš (referee)
The thesis is focused on solving the problematic issue of how to evaluate companies at an early stage in their life cycle, or how to evaluate the start-ups. The concept of start-ups has very quickly expanded abroad, especially in the United States and in Canada. In recent years, this concept slowly extended even to the Czech Republic, but issues of valuation of start-ups are dealt almost exclusively in foreign publications focusing on foreign start-up companies. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is to familiarize the reader with the basic issue of the valuation of start-ups and performance of the various methods and approaches to the valuation of start-ups.

The Elderly and Spirituality: Spiritual Needs in Daily Life
SUCHOMELOVÁ, Věra
The currenly growing preference for "active aging" aims to promote the longest possible physical and mental vitality. Caring for the spiritual development and spiritual needs of older people is usually thought to be a private matter, or an area within the competence of churches, and related to traditionally religious older people. With regard to the bio-psycho-socio-spiritual unity of the person, it is evident that spirituality ? and spiritual needs as its expression ? belong in the life of every individual, though it is primarily an individual experience linked to a particular personality and life history. Through spirituality they seek to answer questions relating to the purpose and pursuit of life, to higher values, to the processing of suffering and evil, and to some questions having eschatological character. This dissertation defines spirituality's everyday place on the path to a good life in old age. The empirical part of the dissertation is a qualitative study called Spiritual Needs in the Daily Life of the Elderly in Southern Bohemia. The first part shows the development of religiosity or spirituality of two dozen South Bohemians over seventy-five years, focusing on the period of early religious socialization, stages of working life under the rule of Communism, and the present form of religiosity or spirituality. The second part presents a possible typology of their fundamental spiritual needs: dignity, sense of continuity in ones life story, hope, faith and love. On the basis of these findings, recommendations are then put forward for pastoral, social, and geragogical practices.

An introduction to the history of western urban sociology: the period from Georg Simmel to Louis Wirth
Soušková, Alena ; Duffková, Jana (advisor) ; Šubrt, Jiří (referee)
This paper attempts to track the history of western urban sociology from its early beginnings to Louis Wirth (1897-1952), a member of the third generation of Chicago School of Urban Sociology. It focuses on famous European founders of sociology and their ideas and works regarding the city phenomenon. The author aims to explain why their works with the subject of city are not so relevant for urban sociology as the two texts central for this paper - Georg Simmel's essay The Metropolis and Mental Life and the Wirth's article Urbanism as a Way of Life. The paper opens a chapter devoted to early European sociologists and their reflection of cities in their works. Friedrich Engels, Karl Marx, Ferdinand Tonnies, Emile Durkheim and Max Weber are in the main scope of the chapter. The following section is dedicated to Georg Simmel and analyses his text about metropolis. Next chapter considers the Chicago School of Urban Sociology, to certain extend inspired by Simmel's work, further elaborating the theory of urban sociology. The section focuses among others on Robert E. Park and the approach of human ecology crucial for early urban sociology. The next chapter presenting Louis Wirth and his famous article points out the sources of inspiration and the criticism raised by the article. The paper concludes by a chapter...

Nursing care of Pacients after spine surgery
TAKÁCSOVÁ, Alena
The title of my thesis is Nursing care after spinal surgery. The number of patients with problems of different parts of the spine is growing as well as indications to operational solutions. This is due to society trends and a greater load on the body. Therefore operational procedures requiring specific nursing procedures for treatment in the early post-operative period increase. The thesis highlights the issue of specific nursing care for patients with various diseases and parts of spine. It points out that there is no universal measurement of nursing care for different types of operations on the same section of the spine and it is necessary to choose the right procedure in specific nursing care along with subsequent rehabilitation care. The number of people with diseases of the spine indicated for surgery continues to increase. Research mentions modern days numbers compared with the time 20 years ago and I dare say the numbers are disastrous. There is nothing to wonder about. Disproportionate load does not decrease, a sedentary way of life either at work or at home also adds to the risk of developing these diseases. These have resulted in discomfort mainly in personal life of a human, but also threaten their working and social role and disrupt the economic security, which we cannot do without nowadays. In our thesis we deal with already incurred pathological manifestations indicated for a surgery. In other words, what happens to the patient, if they are recommended by our outpatient physician - neurosurgeon for a surgery. The lack of nursing literature on this specific issue was the reason for us to choose this theme. In the theoretical part we will discuss the general structure - spine anatomy and physiology, basic terms related to the basic movements, and curvature of the spine. Since our thesis is focused on nursing care after a surgical treatment of diseases of various sections of the spine at the department of Neurosurgery, Traumatology and the Infectious department in České Budějovice, the theoretical part includes basic theoretical outlines of the most important surgical procedures performed at these departments in the hospital of České Budějovice a.s.. Furthermore, we will get to the specifics of nursing care after these surgeries related to early rehabilitation care and close cooperation with physiotherapists. It should be emphasized that teamwork is the cornerstone in the care of patients after spinal surgery, whose subsequent rehabilitation and education in self-care after being discharged from the hospital care is one of the basic prerequisites for a successful recovery and return to their working and social role. The research part focuses on the following objectives: Aim 1: To determine whether nurses know the correct procedures for early rehabilitation of patients after spinal surgery Aim 2: Find out what is the level of collaboration between nurses and physiotherapists in the specifics of patients after spinal surgery Aim 3: To determine whether the nurse´s education and length of practice has an impact on the provision of specific nursing care for patients after spinal surgery Furthermore, using the research questions related to this issue: Research 1: How do nurses and physiotherapists cooperate in a patient´s care after spinal surgery? Research 2: Is a nurse´s length of practise connected with higher expertise in providing specific nursing care to the patient after a spinal surgery? Research 3: Does the education of nurses affect the knowledge of the specifics of the nursing care to the pacients after a spinal surgery? Research 4: How do nurses extend their knowledge in specifics nursing care for pacients after spinal surgery?

European Painters of Native Tribes
Zámečníková, Kristýna ; Rychlík, Martin (advisor) ; Soukup, Martin (referee)
The subject of a thesis is theoretical analysis of artistic work of two painters who as first ones showed in early modern Europe the visual appearance of the American native tribes. French Jacques le Moyne de Morgues and English John White were colonization pioneers of the New world in the second half of 16th century. Their work was extended through engravings of Theodor de Bry, Flemish engraver, after their return to the Old continent. Though the engraver purposely manipulated with their pictures - he edited the images and added various details. The thesis also deals with question what was the main intention of the Flemish engraver. Methodological resource was collecting information and text interpretation. The purpose of the thesis is familiarization with life and work of the European painters who as first ones depicted American Indian tribes and with activity of Theodor de Bry who extended their work in Europe. Key words: The New world, Indians, colonies, painters, artistic value.

Development of Bohemian Arms in the Middle Ages
Valecký, Štěpán ; Buben, Milan (advisor) ; Kuthan, Jiří (referee)
Development of Bohemian provincial Arms in the Middle Ages Summary A coat-of-arms is an integral part of noble representation in medieval times. The beginning of using coats-of-arms is based on historical traditions, but first of all on practical needs growing up from the war experience. That's why heraldry has strict and firm rules, which are only consequences of combat experience. In terms of feudal system medieval lord becomes an owner of certain country. The coat-of-arms of certain country unites in time with the sign of ruling dynasty. That is also the way, how it happened in Bohemia. The beginning of the use of the coats-of-arms is classified usually into 12th century, the time of second crusade. In relation to vassal oath with Roman Empire the Bohemian principality takes over these principles and perhaps its first coat-of-arms - the eagle. A lion figure with one tail as well appears in Bohemian coat-of-arms very early. In this period both figures are used by the sovereigns. Subsequently, the lion coat-of-arms, the dynastic sign of the Premyslid dynasty, came to the forse. The eagle is the sign of st. Vaclav, patron and eternal monarch of Bohemian country. We can deduce the origin of the lion's figure from the coat-of-arms of the imperial Stauf dynasty; its origin could also come from other sources....
