The concept of the optimization of Czech library network in accordance with the model of Finnish public librarianship

The elements of Mudejar art
Guia, Eva ; Kropáček, Luboš (referee) ; Veselý, Rudolf (advisor)
The Mudejar Art means the art of mudejars ( muslims who lived under the dominion of Christians), of moriscos (muslims which were forced to accept the baptism, but which staied secretly practising lslam) and ofthe other ethnic or religious groups which used their technics. Because it is realized outside of the lands of lslam, it is usually associated to the elements of the other religions and traditions and to their buildings. The Mudejar Art is limited to the Pyrenean Peninsula (Spain, Portugal) and their former colonies. The Spanish and French historians of art tended frequently to doubt about the Mudejar Art and his existence like independent style, the same name of this style was disputed and the other better was been looking for unsuccessefully. Maybe it was also because of the fragmentation total of the Mudejar Art, which in every area (Castile and León, Aragon, Toledo, Andalusia, the eastern zone etc.) has his specific character. Four materials have been considereted like typically mudejars (brick, wood, gypsum, ceramics). This definition, which was been accepted in the III. lnternational Symposy of Mudejarismo in Teruel, was in the first two cases doubted by Phi1ippe Araguas and Nuere Matauco, like his al1eged economicity. The decoration come from Antiquity, from the traditions ofVizigots and Europe...

Professional parents as alternative of institutional care for hazardous teenagers
Štefanová, Jitka ; Vítečková, Michaela (referee) ; Lorenzová, Jitka (advisor)
This thesis analyzes the instrument of professional parenting, with an emphasis on its possible application within the Czech system of at-risk youth care. Currently, the system of institutional and protective care and follow-up care for at-risk youth faces criticism from children's rights advocates. In some European countries and other parts of the world, professional parenting has found its permanent use as an instrument for the care of at-risk children and youth. In the Czech Republic, temporary foster care has been codified as an alternative to professional parenting; however, this concept does not have any broad application so far. In the first two chapters, the thesis defines basic terms and describes risk behaviour patterns in children and youth. The third and major chapter lists the main pillars of professional foster care, describes its forms as well as possibilities for foster recruitment, education and other characteristics. The final chapter reflects on current trends in the Czech system of care involving at-risk and vulnerable children.

Šisler, Filip ; Pelikán, Jan (advisor) ; Vojtěchovský, Ondřej (referee)
The presented diploma thesis deals with bilateral relations between Czechoslovakia and Romania during first years after the World War II. The following part describes and analyses the process of re- establishment of the diplomatic relations between Czechoslovakia and Romania after the war. The chapter presenting the situation of Czechs and Slovaks living in Romania between 1944- 1945 follows after that. Two texts about the contribution of Romanian military troops on the liberation of Czechoslovakian territory and about the post-war re-emigration of Czech and Slovakian compatriots from Romania back to Czechoslovakia represent an essential part of this diploma thesis. The following chapter deals with the Czechoslovakian attitude towards the prepared peace treaty with Romania during the Paris Peace Conference negotiations in 1946. The penultimate part...

Italian renaissance drawings of 1500-1520 in the national collections of the bohemian crown lands
Benčová, Monika ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (advisor) ; Kropáček, Jiří (referee)
The work focuses on "Italian Renaissance Drawings from Years 1500-1520 in the Public Czech Collections". It describes the situation at the beginning of 16th century, including first two decades of the time. During those years the position of particular towns changed especially due to political situation. For a short time, Rome came on the top, too. It was under the pope Julius II., who tried to form and collect a unique set of artistic works. This ambition requested the presence of many significant artists. There are 16 drawings by 13 artists from that period in the Czech collection. These artists belonged to the different artistic schools: Filippino Lippi and Andrea del Sarto are from the Florentine school; Boccaccio Boccaccino, Francesco Casella and Tommaso Aleni from Cremona; Giovanni Bellini and Sebastian del Piombo from Venice; Amico Aspertini, Marcantio Raimondi and an anonymous artist came from the North Italy (Bologna); the last artists came from Rome: Raffael and Baldassare Peruzzi. In the end, two drawings of female figure (never published before) by an unknown author (called drawer of the first half of 16th century) are described. The main concern is set to a study of drawings (for a complete review it is supplied with a short biography of each artist), which are sorted according artistic...

Chapters on panel painting of the beautiful style
Klípa, Jan ; Homolka, Jaromír (advisor) ; Kuthan, Jiří (referee) ; Royt, Jan (referee)
The work has a character of two parts of an intended larger unit. The first part considers the development and the comprehension of the basic terms/conceptions inherent to the arts of the break of the 14th and 15th centuries. It aims to cover general tendencies which crystalized within the frame of the process of the formulation of the following terms: international style, court style, beautiful style and others. The most detailed focus is withal dedicated to the history of the term beautiful style and its meaning in which Czech research had a significant role during the last century. General issues of the style in the fine arts of the late Middle Ages play a substantial role within the frame of the study of art around the year 1400 and no other treatment of this theme can get along without a historiographic reflection which would entitle and accept the contemporary and ideal conditionality of the basic terms. In the conclusion of the first part there are formulated hypothetical views related to the direction of the future studies of the questions of art around the year 1400 on the European and the local levels. The second part of the work is dedicated to the concrete issues of the form of this art in the Viennese painting of the first third of the 15th century and its relations to the Czech art of the...

Limestones of Český kras and their use for hydraulic limes and natural cements
Kozlovcev, Petr ; Kuchařová, Aneta (referee) ; Přikryl, Richard (advisor)
ii Summary This bachelor thesis is focused on the possible use of limestones from the Český kras area for the preparation of alternative inorganic binders, namely for hydraulic limes and natural cements. In the introductory chapters, the geology of Český kras is described. Silurian and Devonian beds make the most important lithostratigraphic members. Then, the history of limestone exploitation and processing is explained. It is followed by the petrographical characteristic of limestone - its mineralogical and chemical composition, the structure and the texture, the classification, the genesis and the diagenesis. Major part of the thesis focuses on inorganic binders - their basic characterization and evaluation. Limestones are discussed from the point of their general use in the industry. The limestones from the Český kras area are analyzed based on their chemical composition (based on the previously reported data) and evaluated for the potential use for burning of hydraulic limes and natural cements.

Analysis of the position and operations of the International monetary fund in the global economy
Hromádka, Jan ; Žamberský, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis analyzes how IMFs operations transformed as the changes took place in the global economy after world war two. Policy and means used by IMF to achieve its purposes are examined focusing on their effectiveness. The analysis illustrates an apparent change in the role the institution is playing in the global economy. In the first three decades after the world war two the IMFs key role was to maintain surveillance over the rules of the monetary system established at international financial conference in Bretton Woods. The introduction of floating exchange rate systems in developed countries, oil crisis and independence of many African countries caused a shift in IMFs main focus towards developing countries, long-term financing and technical assistance. The analysis concludes that the institution was only in part successful in its mission to maintain global economic stability only in part. In the nineties it reacted promptly to financial crisis by introduction of new facilities and by activating in coordination with other global players of large financial support for the affected countries. However in the period before the financial crisis occurred more attention IMF should have given more attention to precautionary measures eliminating the risks associated with capital volatility.
