Peter Handke and Wolfgang Bauer as the leading figures of Avant-garde Literature in 1960s Austria
Stejskal, Zdeněk ; Tvrdík, Milan (advisor) ; Zbytovský, Štěpán (referee)
2. Summary Austrian avant-garde literature is nowadays considered an integral part of German literary history. Focusing on the avant-garde's early stage of the 1960s, the thesis seeks to look into (a) the conditions which gave rise to the progressive literature in the Austria of that time, and (b) its concrete manifestations in the works of the young authors. The opening part explains the origins of such a radical approach to form and content across literary genres. After 1945, Austrian culture and arts did not face the uncertain choice of literature in Germany, where another parting of the ways came in 1947, with the fundamentally different approaches between the West and the East. In Austria the initial debate was more efficient: the official policies clearly aimed at re-establishment of the modern and stable values as presented by the Austrian interwar great story-tellers such as Robert Musil and Hermann Broch. These efforts, however, were soon to become counterproductive. The conservative, and cumbersomely obsolete policies of the grand coalition between the social democratic SPÖ party and the newly established ÖVP party failed to provide fertile land for young authors, who grew up in the 1960s. It was these authors in particular who felt that the cultural and political atmosphere was extremely rigid,...

Monitoring of thyroid activity in goats
BENDOVÁ, Markéta
This thesis deals with the activity of a thyroid gland of a goat in terms of an excessive iodine excretion in urine and milk. The milk iodine content as a potential source of iodine for humans is still a significant affair. Five milk collections were done in five observed farms during a lactation period. It was collected 144 individual mixed milk samples from 32 animals in total. Urine collections were made five times in the five observed farms 29 individual urine samples in total from 12 animals. The total iodine excretion in milk and urine was set. The average iodine content in milk of individual farms ranged from 41.72 to 143.54 ?g I.l-1 and the average iodine content in urine of individual farms ranged from 104,1 to 165,3 ?g I.l-1. It appears from that that type of stabling and also ration with mineral supplements have an impact on the iodine content. No impact on the iodine content was registered from lactation stage, age or specific breed. There's possible dependency on iodine content in milk and iodine content in urine.

New possibilities of nitrilases in biocatalysis and bioremediation
Veselá, Alicja Barbara ; Bezouška, Karel (advisor) ; Weignerová, Lenka (referee)
Nitrilases are enzymes which catalyze the hydrolysis of nitriles to corresponding carboxylic acids. These enzymes have a great potential in biocatalysis, for example in the synthesis of mandelic acid and mandelamide, because of their chemo- and enantioselectivity. As bioremediation agents they are also applicable to sites contaminated with organic nitriles. In this work, activities of recombinant strains of E. coli expressing hypothetical nitrilases from fungi Giberella moniliformis and Nectria haematococca mpVI 77-13-4 were studied, as well as the biodegradation potential of bacteria from Rhodococcus and Nocardia genera towards benzonitrile herbicides dichlobenil (2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile), ioxynil (3,5-diiodo-4- hydroxybenzonitrile) and bromoxynil (3,5-dibromo-4-hydroxybenzonitrile). The hypothetical fungal nitrilases were expressed as functional enzymes. Nitrilase from G. moniliformis showed highest activity towards benzonitrile (30.9 U/mg protein), total activity yield was 2,560 U/l cell culture. The preferred substrate of the nitrilase from N. haematococca was phenylacetonitrile (12.3 U/mg prot.), total activity yield was 28,050 U/l cell culture. Nitrilase from N. haematococca was also able to hydrolyze mandelonitrile (5.9 U/mg prot.). Soil bacteria Rhodococcus rhodochrous PA-34, Nocardia globerula...

Perception of ecosystem services in an urban environment
Nožková, Markéta ; Vačkářová, Davina Elena (advisor) ; Novák, Josef (referee)
This thesis deals with city ecosystem services and how are these services perceived by the visitors of the city nature areas. Specifically, the thesis deals with ecosystem services provided in the city Carlsbad. As the city Carlsbad is the spa city, great deal of visitors of the city nature areas are tourists and that is why are included in the research both city residents and also temporary visitors of the city. From the point of view of the usual division of the ecosystem services, as it was defined by Millennium ecosystem assessment (provisioning services, regulating services, cultural and supporting services), this thesis focuses mainly on the cultural and supporting ecosystem services, because this spectrum of services is presented in the greatest measure in cities in general and these services are overall the most appreciated in the urban areas. As a methodology was chosen a quantitative research, which was conducted by standardized questionnaire consisting of 19 questions. The survey was carried out in electronical form and it took part from November to December 2016. In total, 206 questionnaires were collected. Through the survey was found out, that people are aware of the services provided by nature environment in city as well as the respondents agree, that city nature areas influence the...

Payments for goods and services via mobile phones
Novák, Michal ; Matuštík, Ondřej (advisor) ; Veber, Jaromír (referee)
The Method of payments via mobile phones is relatively new, however, founds application in many situations. Mobile phones allow to pay for both digital as well as conventional goods. It provides the possibility of immediate payments for content, services and goods on the Internet, the fare in public transport, parking tickets and many other services. It is therefore an area of great potential for expansion. The subject of thesis " Payments for goods and services via mobile phones" is the analysis of various technology options for payment and assessment of current status in the Czech Republic. In the first part of this thesis the reader will be apprised with the development of mobile Communications in the Czech Republic, then with the mobile commerce and mobile payments as a whole. The second part describes the individual payment options, especially GSM Banking, SMS payments and payments based on NFC technology. Assesses their advantages and disadvantages, and analyzes the current situation in the Czech Republic. The third part covers the evaluation of the questionnaire focused on current exploitation of mobile payments and the public attitude to their possible expansion. Readers of this thesis will be familiarized with the situation in the field of mobile payments, get an idea about the possibilities of their use, strengths and weaknesses and possible future developments.

The performance and fertility of pasture reared Holstein heifers
NEJEDLÁ, Alice
The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the parameters of the milk performance, reproduction indicators and health of Holstein cows that were raised on pasture. The data were obtained from 50 pure bred animals and its crossbreeds which had been grazed and the control group which was represented by 20 heifer which had been reared in stable. The evaluation of parameters was set on the first standardized lactation in the range of 240 to 305 days. The first lactation milk performance traits were: quantity of milk (kg), quantity and content of fat (kg; %), quantity and content of protein (kg; %). The fertility traits were: length of service period (days), insemination interval (days), age at first calving (days).

Contruction of the Nuclear Power Plant Temelin and its Impact on the Surrounding Countryside
Maříková, Olga ; Andreska, Jan (advisor) ; Hanel, Lubomír (referee)
This thesis is concerned with changes of countryside caused by the construction of the nuclear power plant Temelín mainly represented by the lost villages not only in the closest surroundings, but in the area of the Hněvkovice dam as well. In total, eight villages had to be cleared and great areas of farmland were transformed. The individual lost villages are briefly characterised in terms of history and then there is a description of what particularly was demolished and what has remained. The theses is based on comparison of photographs from the past with the contemporary state.

Empirical Analysis of Labor Markets over Business Cycles: An International Comparison
Brůha, Jan ; Polanský, Jiří
The goal of this paper is to document and summarize the main cyclical features of labor market macroeconomic data in advanced countries. We report the second moments (correlations, coherences and volatility) of labor market variables for various data transformations (growth rates and cycles). Then we use dynamic factor models to inquire about the number of orthogonal shocks that drives labor market data dynamics. We also investigate the time-varying nature of these features: we ask whether they are stable over time, especially at times of severe crises such as the Great Recession. Finally, we compare these features across countries to see whether there are groups of countries characterized by similar features, such as labor market institutions. We find that certain features are stable over time and across countries (such as Okun’s Law), while others are not. We also confirm that labor market institutions influence selected characteristics, but to a limited degree only. We find that one or at most two orthogonal shocks seem to drive the cyclical dynamics of labor market variables in most countries. The paper concludes with our interpretation of these findings for structural macroeconomic models.

Consumer on the insurance market
Pavlík, Petr ; Oborilová, Mária (advisor) ; Kábrt, Tomáš (referee)
The objective of this bachelor thesis is to identify consumer in the insurance market, to assess the factors that influence the formation of its behaviour and other determinants which influ-ence its actual insurance need. This work is focused exclusively on the Czech insurance market. A total of 106 people responded to my online questionnaire. It was surveyed that life insurance is influenced by age, the highest level of education and whether the person has a partner or husband/wife. Property and income is important factor to the non-life insurance. It can be concluded that there is still great potential for new contract and the fact that costumers prefer personal communication when negotiating longer-term contracts.

The impact of advertising on mothers on maternity leave
Vavřinová, Veronika ; Průša, Přemysl (advisor) ; Odehnalová, Jitka (referee)
The present bachelor's thesis deals with the impact of advertising on mothers on maternity leave. The aim of the thesis is to find out how much women are influenced by marketing campaigns, particularly TV commercials, when they consider buying products for their children. The impact of advertising is demonstrated on the analysis of a particular advertising campaign promoting healing preparations for sucklings and young children. The primary data was collected by on-line questionnaires on the internet, which was attended by 106 respondents. According to the results we can say that mothers on maternity leave are an economically strong group, which is however rarely influenced by marketing promotion. When considering buying products and services, women of this target group take into account mainly opinions of other women in a similar position. They are very careful when they choose new products, they accept commercials sensibly. However, if they are content with a brand, they tend to be loyal and they can be a great contribution for a company.
