Identification of Terpenoid Resins in Artworks by Gas Chromatography
Jelínek, Jan ; Beneš, Pavel (referee) ; Hrdličková Kučková, Štěpánka (advisor)
Terpenoic varnishes are used in artworks since 11th century. Their task is to protect the artworks against the adverse effects of the environment and frequently they complete the artistic page. Although synthetic varnishes are currently widely used, especially in the case of modern art, the use of natural materials is still widespread and not only in the restoration of historical paintings and polychromy. In order to prepare terpenoic varnishes, rich supply of natural resins is used (damare, mastic, copals, colophony etc.). These resins differ in their composition and therefore they have various physical properties such as fragility, solubility, and not least the various darkening of varnish. For these reasons, it is necessary to know their composition, in order to be safely removed during restoration and subsequently replaced by a varnish of the same material composition. Gas chromatography is the most widely used analytical method for determination of natural resins, using a number of derivatizing reagents. The task of this thesis was to find the best separation conditions for the identification of resins by gas chromatography combined with flame ionization detector (GC-FID).

Intermediality in the children's book (on examples of works of Petr Nikl, František Skála, Květa Pacovská and Petr Šmalec)
Šámalová, Veronika ; Hník, Ondřej (referee) ; Brožová, Věra (advisor)
This thesis deals with intermedial play with words and pictures in author's book for children and teens. In he first theoretical chapter, reader learns the specific attributes of literature for children and teenagers from the literary and art point of view, it means he will get to know rules of the play with word and picture and their functions in the literature for children and teenagers. Second chapter is dedicated to the game, the basic attributes of the game and game in the literature for the children and teenagers that is best represented by the intermediate author's book, by a book-toy. These are the books that unite words and pictures in one artistic complex, to which the play with sound is added. Electronic media take sometimes part in the game as well. Third chapter is dedicated to the concrete examples of words', pictures' and creative games' connection made by authors of books for children and teenagers. These books are represented with the works of Petr Nikl. František Skála. Petr Šmalc and Květa Pacovská. The main point of this thesis was finding attributes and components of game in the intermedial writing for children and teenagers, through which is the personality of the individuum formed. In the same time we study whether and how are the general rules for creating books for children and...

Study of AMDAR data in NWP model ALADIN
Bučánek, Antonín ; Brožková, Radmila (advisor) ; Brechler, Josef (referee)
The impact of assimilation (using 3D-Var method) of aircraft measurements on forecasts of the numerical model ALADIN is studied in the present work. Methods of measuring several meteorological parameters by aircrafts and their recording to AMDAR message are shown. So called BLUE equation for production of an analysis (the best assessment of the state of atmosphere represented by a numerical model) is deduced. The equivalence between the BLUE equation and a minimization of the quadratic functional used by 3D-Var is shown. Essentials steps of integrating meteorological measurements to assimilation procedure are outlined. The process of assimilation used in Czech Hydrometeorological Institute is shown and the results of aircraft measurements assimilation are presented.

Strength and body composition of sport climbers
Michálková, Jana ; Strejcová, Barbora (referee) ; Baláš, Jiří (advisor)
Title of master thesis Muscular strength and body composition in sport climbers Work objectives The main objective of this study is to compare the muscular strength and body composition in recreational and elite climbers. Methods Testing of 77 climbers who were devided into 3 groups was carried out on the climbing wall. There was rated muscular strenght by the motor tests and body composition by the bioimpedance. And their relation to the climbers performance. Results were evaluated by multivarite analysis of variance (MANOVA) Results Results of our diploma study demonstrated that climbers with higher of RP (8 and more UIAA) have lower weight (men 69,5±9,8 kg and women 57,7±4,0 kg) and body fat (men 10,2±2,3 % a women 17,4±0,8 %), higher static muscular strenght of the forearm and muscular endurance of upper limbs. The best results were reached at the tests with the bent arm hang (men climbers 68,1±22,6 s and women climbers 58,9±3,3 s) and hang on plinth (men climbers 61,7±19,2 s and women climbers 45,6±12,5 s). Climbers with climbing efficient 6-7 UIAA weighted averagely men 70,72±8,24 kg and women 64,77±5,02 kg. Percentage of body fat was 10,22±2,6 % for men and 21,13±3,1% for women. In the tests of bent arm hang and hang on plinth men hold for 48,44±12,4 s, 37,45±14,1 s and women hold for...

Supervision of employees contra management of the organization. Chance for cooperation or thread to autonomy?
Vopatová, Ladislava ; Hradcová, Dana (advisor) ; Havrdová, Zuzana (referee)
This master work deals with a situation, that happens during innovating external team supervision into the Czech social settlement. During the last ten years two different worlds have met there. The managerial one which focuses mainly on control and the supervisory one, which focuses on the reflection of working condition of the supervisors. Besides this, there is also given a draft of a way how to start the supervision, how to control it and how to acquire the best of it during fulfilling their manager goals.

Influence of selected factors on reproduction of fish Ancistrus multispinnis
BARDOUNOVÁ, Alena
The white-girdled bristlenose catfish (Ancistrus multispinnis) is found in South America in the Amazon Basin, especially along the bed of flowing bodies of water. The male can be recognised from the long, thick, bristling tentacles and odontodes on the head and cheek. Females either have no tentacles or short, thin ones. Ancistrus multispinnis is omnivorous but primarily consumes plant matter. It is a much sought-after fish and it is therefore important to determine the best form of breeding and rearing. The monitoring required for compilation of the research project was performed in the aquarium room at the Department of Biological Sciences from March 2011 to March 2012. Normal and albino variants of Ancistrus multispinnis were used for reproduction. The tested fish were placed in 50 litre tanks where they then reproduced. A WTW meter, column (cation exchanger) and demineralisation filter were used for measurement of the values and for water treatment. The aim of the research project was to determine the influence of a selected form of feeding and water temperature on successful spawning of Ancistrus multispinnis. The findings reveal that, for successful spawning and breeding of these fish, the best form of feeding is to administer pellets specially designed for Ancistri, boiled nettles or lettuce leaves, finely shredded beef heart and even the occasional addition of pond plankton. The ideal water-temperature was revealed to be from 24-26 °C, pH 7-8, conductivity approx. 230 ?S/cm and oxygen content approx. 8.00 mg.l-1.

Three essays on public procurement
Skuhrovec, Jiří ; Janda, Karel (advisor) ; Mejstřík, Michal (referee) ; Tóth, István János (referee) ; King, Lawrence (referee)
The core of thesis lays in quantitative analysis of microeconomic data on public procurement and alternative forms of dealing with public money. It consists of three essays with one common attribute: extensive groundwork with data, including overlaps into legal and technical disciplines. The fist essay examines the relationship between transparency of ownership structure and (i) profits of firms winning public procurement contracts and (ii) competition for the contracts and savings of the public authority. It identifies a significant advantage of firms with opaque ownership structure in terms of access to public money. It concludes with a possible explanation of conflict of interest and corruption, which might channel such advantages. The second essay proposes and tests a novel methodology for benchmarking of contracting authorities. The proposed rating measures a deviation from best practice recommendations in the areas of openness, competition and transparency. Indirectly it measures efficiency and corruption potential in public procurement. The pilot results of the methodology are provided and extensively discussed for a group of Czech municipalities. Third essay investigates issue of crowding out effect potentially introduced by EU funds provision. It studies direct budgetary impacts of...
