Physiotherapist - patient relationship
FORMANOVÁ, Miroslava
The bachelor´s work The relation between the patient and the physiotherapist engages in the character of this relation, how both sides evaluate it and the factors influencing a good relation. The aim was to monitor what the relation means for physiotherapists and patients, to describe some important aspects and factors that can influence it. The theoretical part is focused at psychology and communication in medical care, further at specialities of treating children, seniors, worried and aggressive patients. The work explains the meaning of words like empathy, cooperation, burnout syndrome and other aspects which may influence the patient ? physiotherapist relationship. The practical part is divided into two parts. The first one contains dialogues with patients undergoing some therapy. The second part presents interviewing some physiotherapists. The dialogues are half-structured and subsequently processed with the help of qualitative analysis - the answers to the research questions are then obtained. The results prove that a good patient ? physiotherapist relation is essential for quality physiotherapy care and substantially influence it. Reciprocal trust is necessary: the patient´s confidence in the physiotherapist´s ability and readiness to help, and the physiotherapist´s trust in the patient´s good will to contribute to the improvement of his/her health condition. The relation is influenced by the physiotherapist´s communication skills, which have to be adjusted to each patient´s individuality. Other factors like the sex and the age can influence the relationship, too. The outcomes of the work may be useful for students and medical workers. They offer the insight into how some patients and colleagues think, which may be inspiring for them.

Religious phenomena in Melville's Moby-Dick
Karľa, Michal ; Lyčka, Milan (advisor) ; Chlup, Radek (referee)
Moby Dick is a work strikingly rich in terms of religous symbolism and references (especially ;>OltoW:;aI. but not only) both on the formal (selection of metaphors and parables) and narrative (characters' names, composition of particular episodes upon the biblical pattern) level. This fact is startling and the way in which author uses these phenomena is not simply to thesis aims to unriddle the sense of these "religious phenomena". First two introduction to the and character together with thorough analysis of the religious phenomena. Two chapters

Properties and function of middle T antigen of the murine polyomavirus
Fabiánová, Anna ; Forstová, Jitka (advisor) ; Čáp, Michal (referee)
Polyomaviruses are small DNA viruses, which are able to induce a broad variety of tumors. The main oncoprotein of the mouse polyomavirus (MPyV) is middle T antigen (MT antigen) which is able to transform cells. MT antigen has not an enzymatic activity of its own. It is able to activate signal transduction of host cells through its interactions with certain cellular proteins. These proteins include protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), Src kinase, phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase (PI3K), Shc protein, 14-3-3 protein and phospholipase Cγ1 (PLCγ1). This work is focused on interaction between MT antigen and cellular proteins and on the impact of this interaction on cell transformation. Since MT antigen is a potent oncogene, the work also deals with the character of transformed cells and tumor development in mouse mammary epithelium. Keywords: polyomaviruses, MT antigen, PP2A, PI3K, PLCγ1, Shc protein, 14-3-3 protein

Trends in social security in the European Union and their impact on legal regulation in the Czech Republic
Hromadová, Viera ; Koldinská, Kristina (advisor) ; Štefko, Martin (referee)
Resumé v anglickom jazyku The purpose of this thesis is to introduce a topic of the coordination of the social security system existing in the European Union. The reason for my research was the effort to explain if and how the basic rights for the migrating workers are followed within the European Union where each member state has its own national social security system based on the specific historical, political, demographical and sociological character of a country. The thesis is composed of five chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of the topic. Chapter One is introductory and it is introducing the whole topic. Chapter Two in the first subpart defines basic terminology of the social security and in the second one it explains which factors are influencing social security the most. Chapter Three concentrates on the issue of the European Union and the legislation of European Union applied on the scope of the social security. This chapter is divided into two subchapters. The first subchapter describes the European Union, its development and how the system has changed when the Lisbon Treaty came into force. The second subchapter concentrates on the European law and it is divided into seven subparts. First five subparts are focused on the primary and secondary European law including the...

Population and genetic structure of trout (Salmo trutta) and grayling (Thymallus thymallus) as a basis for a successful fishery management
Halačka, Karel ; Papoušek, Ivo ; Kohout, Jan ; Vetešník, Lukáš ; Lusk, Stanislav ; Mendel, Jan ; Šlechta, Vlastimil
The aim of the study is to contribute to knowledge about population dynamics of our salmonids. The study concentrated particularly on the genetic diversity of Salmo trutta and Thymallus thymallus populations, and also on selected morphological characters. Genetic analyses of the mitochondrial DNA have shown an existence of an extreme uniformity of populations in all three sea-drainage areas. Due to anthropogenic interventions, structure local subpopulations adapted to given local subpopulations, resulting from the natural diversification spanning thousands of years, has been disrupted. All other individuals carried a uniform (Atlantic) haplotype. A comparison study dealing with structure and dynamics of epidermis in S. trutta, O. mykiss, S. fontinalis and T. thymallus has shown significant differences particularly in fraction of the secretory cells. Lower proportion of the secretory cells in T. thymallus could be related to its sensitivity to molds in the post-spawning period.

AbstractJanderova-Rossmeislova L., Novakova Z., Vlasakova J., Philimonenko V., Hozak P., Hodny Z., 2007. PML protein association with specific nucleolar structures differs in normal, tumor and senescent human cells. J. Struct. Biol. 159, 56-70. Cellular senescence, widely recognized as a potent suppressor of tumorigenesis, represents response to cellular stress and DNA damage which results in irreversible cell growth arrest. Growing evidence signalizes crucial role of cytokine production in senescence phenomenon. Recently, many research groups have efforted to define exact character of senescence-associated secretory phenotype and its function in senescence development and maintentance. Factors secreted by senescent cells, mainly of proiflammatory character, were found to have pronounced effects on their environment as well as on its own producer. These observations were obtained preferentially on models of replicative senescence and oncogene-induced senescence. Vlasakova J, Novakova Z, Rossmeislova L, Kahle M, Hozak P, Hodny Z. 2007. Potholes of Česká Kanada
KUBOVÁ, Alena
This Bachelor thesis looks into potholes of nature park Česká Kanada. The theoretical part of the thesis summarises the character of the nature park, formation of potholes and other types of landforms occurring in the region. The practical part deals with selected pothole localities, where the spatial relationship of pothole beds and primary joints is being researched. The results show that pothole beds are concordant with joint planes. Some locations revealed two generations of potholes.

Literary analysis of the novel De Gevarendriehoek of A.F.Th. van der Heijden
Bubák, Jan ; Krijtová, Olga (referee) ; Krol, Ellen Jacoba (advisor)
The literary analysis ofthe novel De gevarendriehoek of Adrianus Franciscus van der Heijden is concentrated on the most significant features ofthis work. This is above all the symbolic sphere that enriches the realistic character of the work. It creates an additional dimension which opens a specific field for interpretation of the philosophical meaning of this work. The analysis is made using the structural method. The language elements are subject to systemizing and classification with the aim to find out their attributes. These semantic attributes determine the function for reader' s apprehension. Following the structural pattem, these attributes are divided into the chapters: time, space, the attitude of the narrator an the motivic analysis. The main vehicle for the symbolic meaning is the motif. The system of motifs consits ofthe story-motifs that are superordinated by abstract-motifs. These constitute the main motif - a fundament for the interpretation. The exploration of motivic system constitutes the core ofmy thesis.A special category represents Van der Heijden's concept of living in the breadth - a way of experiencing the real time as a unique t:;temal moment. The result ofmy analysis was a discovery ofthe principal motivic features - the time and the fear. These two basic principles guide the...

Evaluation of variability within Sparganium erectum using morphometrics, AFLP and flow cytometry
Píšová, Soňa ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (referee) ; Fér, Tomáš (advisor)
MSc. thesis is based on evaluation of intraspecific morphological and genetic variation of Sparganium erectum L. in the Czech Republic. Four intraspecific taxa were examined: S. erectum subsp. erectum L., S. erectum subsp. oocarpum (ČELAK.) DOMIN, S. erectum subsp. neglectum (BEEDY) RICHTER and S. erectum subsp. microcarpum (L.M. NEUMANN) DOMIN. Various approaches such as multivariate morphometric analysis (PCA, discriminant analyses), estimation of genome size by propidium iodide flow cytometry and molecular analysis of total genomic DNA (AFLP) were applied for study close related subspecies. Multivariate analysis of morphological characters of fruits (for 350 individuals from 63 native populations) presented some distribution to four closed groups. Partial overlapping was observed for S.erectum subsp. neglectum with subsp. microcarpum and subsp. oocarpum. Similar situation (overlapping subsp. neglectum a microcarpum) was observed within genome size. Remaining two taxa, S. erectum subsp. erectum and subsp. oocarpum, were well-differentiated using genome size data. Most important morphological characters on fruits useful for subspecies determination were: sterility of fruit heads, presence or absence of peduncle, distinct shoulder between upper and lower part, constriction below the shoulder, width of fruit...
