Bílá veleryba je dílo dno neobycejne bohate na mibozenskou symboliku a odkazy (zejmena biblicke, na urovni formalni (volba metafor, prirovnani), tak i narativni Umena postav, episod romanu podle biblicke predlohy). Tento fakt je v jistem ohledu zanizejici a autor s temito fenomeny pracuje, neni jednoznacne srozumitelnY. Prace si klade za "nabozenskYch fenomenu" v dUe objasnit. Uvodni dye kapitoly prace vysvetluji vYchodiska a nastinuji postup. Nasleduje jadro prace - predstaveni struktury a charakteru samotneho zkoumaneho dna a rozbor nabozenskych fenomenu. Zaverecne dye kapitoly podrobneji ,~",5+h·.'1 zjistene souvislosti a zaroven poukazuji na jejich meze. Moby Dick is a work strikingly rich in terms of religous symbolism and references (especially ;>OltoW:;aI. but not only) both on the formal (selection of metaphors and parables) and narrative (characters' names, composition of particular episodes upon the biblical pattern) level. This fact is startling and the way in which author uses these phenomena is not simply to thesis aims to unriddle the sense of these "religious phenomena".
