EICHLEROVÁ, J. Factors affecting vigor and burnout syndrom of volunteers in the organization LATA. Prague: Charles university in Prague, fakulty of arts, 2017. 101 s. Dissertation. Burnout syndrome is a condition of emotional exhaustion. Its prevention is very essential for both overall health and effective performance at work. The theoretical part is primarily divided into two parts. In the first I deal with burnout syndrome - its definition, causes, symptoms, stages, risk factors, protective factors and neutral factors and prevention of this phenomenon. The following section is devoted to opposites of burnout syndrome most of which deal with Vigor (enthusiasm) according to Shirom. The next two chapters are explaining research methods to measure burnout and enthusiasm with which I operate in the empirical part of the work. The research methods I use are MBI and SMVM questionnaires. Then I describe work of the LATA organization which became the source of my research. I worked only with volunteers of this organization where I also previously worked as a volunteer. Empirical part then examines the burnout syndrome rate and enthusiasm rate of volunteers from the organization LATA. Data from the questionnaires allow us to select a group of ten volunteers, which have been shown the highest rate of...

Home nursing procedures in newborn and baby skin care
GENGELOVÁ, Gabriela
Abstract Hygiene plays a very important role in our lives. It is often influenced by social, cultural, family and individual factors, as well as by knowledge about health and hygiene. The skin of a child is very soft and sensitive, and therefore requires careful and considerate care throughout the whole period of childhood, especially in the neonatal period and infancy. Skin care of newborns and infants is an essential attribute of the child?s health care. Such care is an individual matter, and it will always depend on family circumstances in which the child lives and on a suitable and proper approach of parents and physicians. The aim of this thesis was to determine the level of knowledge of mothers and the use of such knowledge in skin care of newborns and infants at home. The second objective was to prepare educational material for mothers. The thesis makes use of the questionnaire method. For this purpose, 274 questionnaires were collected. The questionnaire was distributed to mothers of newborns and infants, who take care of their skin at home. The investigation was carried out at pediatrics in the South Bohemian and Pilsen regions. The results of the research are introduced using graphs and some of the results are statistically evaluated by a chi-square test. Two hypotheses were set. Hypothesis 1: Mothers have enough information regarding the skin care of newborns and infants at home. Hypothesis 2: Mothers correctly use the acquired information about skin care of newborns and infants. We were successful in answering both hypotheses in the research study. The analysis and evaluation of the questionnaires shows that mothers are knowledgeable in treating skin of their children in the neonatal period and infancy. However, we managed to prove that some information of the parents is inconsistent with the literature. Therefore an educational material for mothers was created, focusing on skin care of newborns and infants. This educational booklet may be used at pediatric wards.

This bachelor?s thesis deals with application of forms of comprehensive rehabilitation in care for elderly. The main task of this study is to determine the level of awareness of application of forms of comprehensive rehabilitation in care for elderly, namely of employees of the Home for the elderly Kaplice, which is located in the South Bohemian Region. The first section of the theoretical part is dedicated to characteristics of comprehensive rehabilitation, primarily to characteristics of forms of comprehensive rehabilitation. The therapeutic part of comprehensive rehabilitation includes diagnostic and therapeutic measures, which improve the functionality of the organism. Another essential section of the comprehensive rehabilitation is the social rehabilitation. The aim of this form is the process of integration of the individual. Subsequently, this form provides to people with disabilities legal protection, as well as financial support. Another section is the educational rehabilitation. The effectiveness of this form of comprehensive rehabilitation is seen primarily in childhood and adolescence. The last section is occupational rehabilitation. The goal of the occupational rehabilitation is to encourage people with disabilities, and to improve their employability in the labor market The second section of the theoretical part describes in detail the issue of aging and old age in relation to the changes occurring in these stages of life. With aging, there is a destructive mental processes. Old age is also accompanied by a series of changes that take place in the social situation of a person. Above all it is retirement which brings a number of changes that considerably influence the economic situation of a person. The last section of the theoretical part discusses the institutional care for the elderly, namely homes for the elderly. The practical part of this study describes the views of respondents on the application of forms of comprehensive rehabilitation care for elderly. To acquire the information, the qualitative research method was used, more precisely the method of questioning. In addition, technique of semistructured interview was used. The interview was done with five respondents who are employees of the Home for the elderly Kaplice. The obtained data were subsequently analyzed using the cluster method. Data were divided into groups according to similarity of the statements related to the particular sections of the interview. There was established the main research question: What is the awareness of the application of forms of comprehensive rehabilitation in care for elderly? In addition, there were defined four sub-research questions of the research. The research showed that the care of seniors is chiefly realized through medical and social rehabilitation, which meets their needs. It is primarily the health care and motivational activities what significantly affects the quality of life of seniors. Educational and social form is not represented much in the care, mainly because of lack of interest from the clients, caused by their poor health. Respondents perceived the comprehensive rehabilitation as comprehensive care that helps individuals to improve their health. However, they recommended the medical environment. They did not mention the possibilities of occupational or educational rehabilitation. This bachelor?s thesis may serve as an information resource for the management of the Home for elderly Kaplice. The gained knowledge may also serve as a source for an expert workshop for employees of Home for elderly Kaplice.

The relation between n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and cellular sensors of energetic state AMPK and SIRT1
Zouhar, Petr ; Kalous, Martin (referee)
Relation between n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and cellular sensors of energetic state Petr Zouhar Abstract The regulatory proteins, which are able to react to energetic state of the cell by feed-back mechanism, are important factors in regulation of metabolic processes. Big attention is focused on the AMP activated kinase (AMPK) and the NAD+ activated deacetylase SIRT1. These enzymes interact together and their stimulation increases mitochondrial biogenesis and fatty acid oxidation. Due to this fact they function beneficially against the onset of obesity, insulin resistance and ageing. Fasting, exercise and some antidiabetogenic drugs act through these regulators. n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) are also believed to be beneficial because of their stimulative effects on mitochondrial biogenesis and β-oxidation. Our previous work has showed that intake of higher doses of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) in diet leads to increase of AMPK activity in white adipose tissue. New results presented in this thesis show that SIRT1 is essential for increase of β-oxidation stimulators (PPARα etc) expression in response to n-3 PUFA in diet. n-3 PUFA also improve the metabolic profile synergistically in combination with calorie restriction. It occurs probably through the activation of SIRT1/AMPK/PGC-1α...

The needs of family in care of the old patients with oncologic diseases
PANGLOVÁ, Tereza
Abstract Cancer diseases are one of the most frequent causes of death. Their occurrence increases with age and depends on many internal and external factors. Cancer is much feared diagnosis among people especially due to high mortality and pain. Such diagnosis causes high psychic stress on a patient and their family. The time period of medication and convalescence is stressing for a patient and entails number of complications. The course of the disease and therapy is also influenced by age of a patient. In case of seniors, anatomic and physiologic changes that can influence the result of medication must be considered. Family can be a great support for a patient. Some families care for their diseased family member at home. However, this is an uneasy task. Sometimes it can lead to exhaustion of a tender; nevertheless, stay in home environment has a positive effect on a patient. Findings about population{\crq}s ageing, old-age and physiologic changes caused in human body due to ageing, are included in the introductory theoretical part of the Bachelor{\crq}s Thesis. The following chapters devote of occurrence of cancer diseases, their prevention, characteristic symptoms and complex medication. An essential chapter is characteristics of an onco-geriatric nurse. Family function and complex insight on a family tender is described in the second concurring part of the Thesis followed by characteristics of separate biological-mental-social needs of a patient and their family. The Thesis is elaborated by use of a qualitative approach. Semi-standardized interview was used for data collection, the group of informants was structurally chosen. I have elaborated 12 detailed case reports according to the informants{\crq} responses. The interviews were held in home environment of the informants. The objective of the Thesis was to examine needs of families with regard to care for a client above 60 years of age with cancer disease. The second objective was to examine conditions enabling care for a client with cancer disease above 60 years of age to a family in home environment. The results revealed that the home tenders mostly miss offer of psychological care and sufficiency of information from specialists, in particular information from the field of finance. The most frequently mentioned condition enabling care for a senior with cancer disease to a family is free time. The free time of the main tender was enabled due to their retirement age or leaving their employment. Another condition is support of a family and other people.

Exploring models of work with family whose children suffer from severe forms of epilepsy
Kynclová, Dana ; Goldmann, Petr (referee) ; Procházková, Jana (advisor)
This work deals with families whose children suffer from a serious form of epilepsy. On a general level it describes to what extend the condition adversely influences each child's development stage. Then it focuses in detail on the impacts on the child's mental health, as well as on various constraints imposed by this condition. The study also explores the topics of the parent's acceptance, the consequences on the parent's approach to upbringing, capacities for coping with stress and the common ways of families' adaptation to the situation. The key topic of this study is the impact of the child's illness on the family, which is seen as a system. The essential thesis is that a change of one family component (the sick child) influences the entire system paradigm. Therefore in this sense the functioning and healthiness of a family is for the purposes of this study defined as the ability of a family system to cope with stress and adapt to it. The family stress coping strategies are seen as a key instrument for a successful adaptation. Anything a family does for strengthening and using resources for endurance falls under a stress coping strategy. Since one of the possible strategies is the use of professional assistance services, a part of this study also elaborates on possibilities for an expert support...
