Women in Upper Management: Perceptions of Experts and Female Top Managers

Hlavním cílém této diplomové práce bylo analyzovat současnou situaci žen ve vyšším managementu ve vybraných společnostech s hlavním zaměřením na Českou republiku. Dále prozkoumat baríery, kterým ženy čelí pří jejich cestě na manažerské pozice a poskytnout doporučení budoucím manažerkám. Tato práce se skládá ze dvou částí a to části teoretické a praktické. V první části jsou analyzovány teoretické pojmy spojené s termínem gender, současná situace žen v managementu a ženský styl vedení. Praktická část diplomové práce je rozdělěna na dvě další části. V první části jsou provedeny rozhovory s ženami z vyššího managementu, které pocházejí z různých společností. V druhé části je tato problematika analyzována z pohledu odborníku ze společnosti Hays Česká republika.

Labour migration of the Hawan Ha Clan Mongghul to Aksu in Xinjiang

Labour Migration of the Hawan Ha Clan Mongghul to Aksu in Xinjiang Abstract: The current work focuses on the ongoing labour migration of the Mongghul Ha Clan from Hawan, Gansu Province to Aksu in southern Xinjiang. It presents the motivation for the migration, and examines the social, economic and cultural changes the migration has catalyzed. Impacts on local Uyghur engendered by in-migrants are discussed. The work also features an overview and a generalization of the contemporary labour migration in China and Xinjiang in particular. Interviews with migrants are transcribed in Mongghul and translated to English and serve as an important source for the work.

Development of the Bolivian economy in the context of government policy and foreign trade

This thesis analyzes the development of the Bolivian economy during the presidency of Evo Morales and especially the effects of state legislative measures on different sectors of the economy in Bolivia. The influence of historical, political and social factors on the economic development of Bolivia is examined in this thesis. There are descriptions of the industrial and financial sectors, foreign trade, state social policy, key risks and forecasts about the development of the Bolivian economy. Emphasis is also placed on the interconnections between politics, economy and social sphere.

Brownfields in the Cheb region- current situation and options

The bachelor thesis "Brownfields in the region of Cheb - a current state and possibilities" deals with the issue of brownfield areas. The introductory part contains the geographical definition of the district, definition of basic concepts and the typology of brownfields. The main part of the thesis concerns description of the brownfields and revitalized buildings, in the region (municipality with extended powers). Therefore a terrain investigation was realized in each of the residental area of the region. Afterward, guided interviews were done with the representative of each township. The aim of the thesis was to map the locations of brownfields at all parts of the region. The examples of acquired results are presented in the conclusion.

Fathers on parental leave in the Czech Republic

Presented thesis is about fathers on parental leave in the Czech republic. Althought the men can take a parental leave since 2001, they are still the phenomenon in the society. The women are the dominant in parental leave, so there prevails the tradition division of roles. The aim of my thesis is to answer the question: How does the modern exchange of parenting roles influate the family functioning? In the theoretical part there is introduced the parental and maternity leave from the point of view in the past, legislation and the possibility taking the maternity and parental leave. The thesis is focused on parental, maternity and paternity leave from the point of view of eight european countries and states certain recommendation for Czech republic. Also describes the family functioning, parental role, gender role and stereotypes. The next part of thesis is focused on history of paternity, relationship between the father and child, and paternity parenting styles. The practical part contains ten interviews which research the experience and opinions of men on the parental leave. There are as well opinions from the wives/partners, who exchanged the roles with their male partners. Using the questionnaire survey, which was filled in by 238 respondents, there was researched what attitude does the Czech society have to the topic and generally to the position of men on parental leave.

Reflection of group interests in political decision-making processes: an institutional approach

Petr Kotlas Reflexe skupinových zájmů v procesu politického rozhodování: institucionální přístup Disertační práce Praha 2012 Annotation PhD thesis "Reflection of group interests in political decision-making processes: an institutional approach" deals with the role of group interests reflected into the specific decision-making actions, on various stages of the political discourse. The thesis offers a methodological contribution, consisting in an interconnecting of the analysis of interest groups with a new institutional paradigm, utilizing its fundamental concepts, particularly transaction costs, formal and informal institutions, and various types of 5 institutional setting, its equilibrium and change. Among the problems of pluralist democracy there are underlined the processes of cleavage and cohesion, shaping group diversity under the condition of multi-actor democracy. The characteristic of political decision-making involves beyond general framework also problems of group decisionmaking. Two alternative approaches to the policy-making analysis are explored: first, an arena approach, focused on the relations among actors, arenas, and agendas; second, an approach focused on the different networks of policy-making. The awareness and concern regarding social and environmental issues is growing among representatives of the business sector and they cannot eliminate the impact that they have. Corporate Social Responsibility is a complex strategy to govern the whole process of doing business. The objective of the Diploma Thesis is to prepare comprehensive analysis of current CSR practices in the Czech Republic and find out what type of impact the socially responsible practices of a company can have on a customers behaviour. The used literature represents pervious findings in the field, mainly researches done among Czech customers. In the practical part personal interviews with the company representative will be held in order to examine practical implications of CSR practices for the biggest brewery; Anheusher-Busch InBev.

The thesis reviews and provides comparison of immigration policies of Germany, Italy and the Netherlands from post-WW2 years to the late 1990s. With regards to the different historical, cultural and social background of each country the dissertation thesis defines the unique approach to immigration and perception of immigrants in each country. The ultimate aim of the thesis is to explain the circumstances that lead to the specific events in the history of immigration policies of the countries in question and bring comprehension in this often overlooked matter.

Impact Analysis of Music Events of Selected Beverage Brands

The thesis Impact Analysis of Music Events of Selected Beverage Brands describes the way certain beverage companies use music events to communicate with customers and how event marketing contributes to raising public awareness. The theoretical part focuses on marketing and commercial communication and also on event marketing and its relation to a brand. In the practical part, which is based on a research conducted by means of a questionnaire, the impact of events on end consumer's brand perception is analysed. This analysis is accompanied by an expert interview with a Jägermeister representative, followed by opinions of other professionals who give their point of view.

The issue of nursing care in acute abdomen in children under 6 years

This Diploma thesis is focused on the issue of nursing care of acute abdominal pain in children under six years old. The abdominal pain of children can be the first symptom of an acute abdominal pain which can directly endanger a child´s life. Neglecting these troubles can lead to great health problems of a complicated character. Four research goals were set within the research. The first objective was to find specifics of acute abdominal pains of children up to six years old. The second objective was to find possible results of acute abdominal pains in children under six years old in the post-operative period. The third goal was to monitor the issue of acute abdominal pains in childhood from the point of view of a nurse and the fourth should have found the knowledge of parents about acute abdomeninal pains in childhood. The Diploma thesis strived to penetrate into the issue of this large chapter of acute medicine, highlight its specifics related to acute abdominal pains in childhood and find out how parents are informed about the existence of this type of illness. To complete the objectives of this Diploma thesis, we used a qualitative research model. This research was done by the technique of a semi-structured interview. The first research group consisted of eight nurses working in a standard paediatric ward or in a paediatric ward of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The second group consisted of parents, specifically mothers who responded based on their knowledge and general awareness gained. A technique of open coding a method of pencil and paper was used for processing the results of these interviews. Seven research questions were set: 1. What are the specifics of nursing care in acute abdominal pain in childhood? 2. What medical complications appear during acute abdominal pain in childhood? 3. What are the specifics of pre-operative and post-operative care in acute abdominal pain in childhood? 4. What is the post-operative period in children with acute abdominal pain? 5. What results can appear in acute abdominal pain in childhood? 6. How do nurses see the issue of sudden acute abdominal pain in childhood? 7. What is the parents´ knowledge about acute abdominal pains in childhood? Within the process of this Diploma thesis, a booklet was created. This should serve as information material for parents, which will help them to explain various terms and potential situations within this extensive diagnosis. This booklet will be at disposal in day nurseries and the outpatient department of the paediatric ward in České Budějovice.
