Socio-charitable works of the founders of the Pontifical Mission Societies
NOVÁKOVÁ, Veronika
The thesis deals with a probe into the past and the lives of the four founders of the Pontifical Mission Societies. It describes the value and purpose of the missionary activities. Furthemore, it introduces the missionary profession from the point of view of the church and of the three last Popes. It delivers an evidence of the life of the poor in missionary countries and a testimony of two missionaries. It shows both a positive and negative sides of the missionary activities. In the conclusion, it introduces projects supported by the Czech Republic.
Explanation of professional and educational visions of pupils in the ninth grade

1 Abstract This thesis is focused on the interpretation of the ninth-grade pupil's conceptions of hierarchical segmentation of society based on profession and obtained degree of education. Its main goal is to clarify student's perception of inequalities of social status among different work positions and to understand impact of study achievements on their vertical grouping. Theoretical part deals with sociological theories to explain the role of occupation and education in formation and maintenance of social stratification. Analytical part validates theoretical explanations by qualitative research conducted within one ninth class. Research questions are answered by qualitative analysis of data acquired by in-depth semi-structured interviews. Student's conceptions correspond to the basic three-dimensional hierarchical classification of the social layers defined in theoretical part. Mutual inequalities of those layers depend mainly on the level of work position which is related to particular layers. Pupils perceive different social status among vertically segmented vocational groups to be justified because individuals within those categories are distinguished by different personality traits. Prestige of Nursery School Teaching

This thesis is devoted to the teaching profession with a focus on nursery school teaching. The theoretical part contains information about teaching as a profession, focusing directly on the prestige of nursery school teachers and describes the contemporary aspects of prestige. Finally, it is described in detail the development of the profession preschool teacher, as a source of ongoing professionalisation of teaching. The main objective of the research is to compare how the prestige of pre-primary teachers evaluated by teachers from other educational levels and preschool educators themselves. Furthermore, to determine how different the results of the investigation work of the author and poll by the Centre for Public Opinion Research (Centrum pro výzkum veřejného mínění - CVVM) at the Institute of Sociology of the prestige of the profession of 2013 and 2016. Design survey is mixed. The method is a questionnaire, structured interviews and document analysis. The results show the relative agreement with research by CVVM. The Prestige of Teachers Occupation

Thesis deals with the prestige of the teaching profession. Its main goal is to try to find out how teachers themselves perceive the prestige connected with their profession. The research consisted of in-depth semi-structured interviews with teachers on this issue and their subsequent analysis. It turned out that although teachers occupy on occupational prestige scales regularly top positions within the interviews they spoke about very low prestige connected with their occupation. The thesis also presents and describes in detail the factors based on analysis of interviews which emerged in connection with low self-esteem of teachers in terms of prestige as a major. This mainly concerns the relatively low income and the related lower standard of living, which forces teachers to have a secondary income. Furthermore, the analysis showed that teachers low self-esteem is affected by alleged lower difficulty of faculties of education, difficult assesment of work results and underastimated difficulty of work from the publics point of view. Pastoral care, or persuasion? The influence of church leaders and their control of clergy and believers. Research of religiosity, communication strategies of priests and their image in letters in the late 19th and early 20th century. Tomáš W. Pavlíček SUMMARY The author of the Ph.D. thesis examines the religious culture in Bohemia in the late 19th century. Contrary to the concept of secularization and the prevalent opinion about an extraordinary decline of religiosity in the Czech society, he attempts to explain the interdependence of social and religious changes in the modern times. Within the sociological concept of secularization and disenchantment of the world, the author focuses on three phenomena: the vocation of a priest, religious practices and conversion, which he treats as religious concepts and at the same time applies them in historical research. The biggest part of the thesis is devoted to the first object of the research - the attitude of a priest towards his vocation, as the clergy is the agent of religious change. The thesis contributes to the current discussions about the relationship of the church and the state and the role of clergy in the society. Jesus' Sayings on Discipleship in the Gospel of Matthew

The thesis deals with the Jesus' logia about vocation contained in Matthew 8, taking into account the synoptic parallel of the text in Luke. The original Greek text is, first, translated into Czech and then linguistically analyzed. The thesis further examines the original setting of the logia and their foundation in the hypothetical Q source. With the help of selected commentators (France, Hagner, Osborne, Fausti) are the logia and their meaning interpreted within the wider context of contemporary research. These modern interpretations are supplemented by views of the early Church Fathers. The method used in the present thesis is the analysis of the original text and a comparison of relevant commentaries.
Company Culture Aspects in View of Christian Ethics

The subject of the thesis "Aspects of corporate culture from the viewpoint of Christian ethics" is to analyze the phenomenon of corporate culture in the perspective of Christian ethics and the requirements of sustainable development as the basic prerequisite for sustainable development of life on Earth. An integral part of the research is to explore the terms under which employees are willing not only to meet the tasks set by their employers, but also provide their best abilities and skills for the good of their enterprise. "Learning organization", Christian ethics in the organization and the principles of sustainability are the three discourses which are involved. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the theoretical knowledge about corporate culture and its meaning, its specific type of "learning organization", Christian ethics and especially the Catholic morality applied in terms of business administration while respecting sustainability for quality of life and the environment. Aim of this diploma thesis "The Vocation of the Apostle Paul: Exegesis and Theological Aspects of Acts chs. 9, 22, 26 and Gal 1" is briefly present historical data of the Apostle Paul, present his personality. Especially it is concentrating on his conversion and vocation and New Testament texts that refer about this events (Acts chs. 9, 22, 26 and Gal 1). Part of this work is to analyze four reports of Paul's vocation. Thesis points on difference or conections between them.
