Assisted reproduction - legal and ethical aspects Abstract This master's thesis discusses legal and ethical aspects of assisted reproduction. The aim of this thesis is to describe current legislation governing assisted reproduction, evaluate whether such legislation is able to meet the needs of modern society and also to discuss possible amendments thereof necessary for establishing a reasonable and effective legal system. With respect to the fact that assisted reproduction still represents a controversial topic among the general public, this thesis also deals with related ethical aspects and mentions the most contentious topics debated both in the Czech Republic and worldwide. This thesis is divided into six chapters. The first chapter explains the term assisted reproduction and describes its main principles, methods and procedures along with conditions for assisted reproduction including infertility. The second chapter of this thesis is more practical and focuses on topics related to providing assisted reproduction, such as who may provide said medical service or who may be the recipient thereof. Development of relationship between parent and child during pregnancy

This thesis deals with the parent - child bond in prenatal period and aims to understand the feeling of this relationship and to describe its development. It also answers the questions of parental strategies used to develop parent - child bond and the specifications of women- and men - child relationship. The essay on parental bond and its aspects are described in the first chapter of the theoretical part. The description of prenatal function development which influences forming the prenatal bond is in the next chapter and the psychical changes of the parents during pregnancy are described in the last chapter. The research was made by using the form of semi-structured interwiew. There were 5 pairs, i.e. 5 women, 5 men inquired into and all the women were in the third trimester of pregnancy. The results show that the parent - child bond in prenatal period is multidimensional construction which involves more aspects. In general three elementary levels of the bond were discovered: cognitive, emotional and behavioural. Coping with the COVID-19 pandemic among academic mothers

The diploma thesis deals with coping with the COVID-19 pandemic among academic mothers. The aim of the thesis is to discover how female academics dealt with the global crisis, specifically in relation to the combination of personal and professional life. The thesis considers the criteria of academic excellence and examines whether coping with the pandemic differed between excellent and non-excellent academics. Additionally, the thesis studies academic work in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic in two distinct scientific fields; STEM and SSH, and simultaneously in two types of academic institutions; public universities and Czech Academy of Science. In order to answer the research objectives, a qualitative methodology, specifically semi-structured interviews, were used. Qualitative methodology enabled identify key factors that had an impact on the coping with the pandemic among academic mothers. The research method also allowed us to obtain information for comparing a predetermined category. The research revealed three dimensions that alongside contribute to the ability of female academics to deal with the pandemic. Social Work with Sexuality of Adults with Intellectual Disabilities in Sheltered Housing

In my diploma thesis I expressed the importance of sexuality for every human bein . Sexual health is part of general health conditions and is a necessary condition of a quality life. Every human has the guaranteed right to enjoy sexuality freely, on condition that no one is constrained. Sexual rights are guaranteed by Bill of Rights, international agreements and also by documents issued by Czech government. I have theoretically described the goals, basic assumptions and educational topics in the area of sexuality of people with mental disabilities. For practical reasons I have included the illustrative tools/techniques for social work with sexuality. I have described the personality of an expert, who is occupied with the sexuality of mentally disabled and ethical rules, to which he/she is obliged to follow. I have tried to compare Czech and foreign scholar literature. I have described the methods of working with sexuality in a concrete Sheltered Housing. As a research method I used the analysis of internal documents, especially Sexual report and recorded interviews. When describing social work with sexuality I have relied mainly on my own experiences. The diploma thesis is concerned about the theme of psychological pregnancy of foster parents. The main focus of diploma thesis was map the motivation, expectations and experiences of future foster parents. The diploma thesis was divided to two main parts, theoretic part and practical part. The theoretic part reported summary of information about parenthood, alternative family care, experiences of pregnancy and experiences of expectation a child future foster parents. Motherhood as the breaking point in the life of a young Roma mother

The aim of this thesis is to look into the lives of young mothers of Roma nationality and to get better understanding of influences that affect them and their adoption and perception of their maternal role. The choice of this theme is based on experience with previous working with Roma families. For the research, it has been chosen five mothers aged under 25 years, with whom were conducted unstructured interviews. In the theoretical part, there is a discussion about motherhood in general and later about its specifics in the Roma community. The greatest emphasis is taken on the receiving parent role. Firstly, the empirical part is a discourse about the choosen method - grounded theory. Then there is detailed description of data processing and data analysis. The following chapters are devoted initially to environmental influences to motherhood and later to the concrete experience of the respondents. The experience of motherhood is viewed from several angles - the time horizon (from conception to birth and the first reaction to child) and the importance of her baby to the mother, especially in terms of commitment and in the context of plans and wishes. Importance of family life and a healthy family-work balance

This bachelor thesis considers the importance of a family and the question of harmonization of family and work life.It defines a family and work as very significant parts of a human life and points at some main attitudes towards the issues of putting family life and work together. Some transformations in terms of the relationship between a family and work in the past are suggested. There are also stated some basic measures of the state, which support a family. This thesis also considers the position of women in the labour market, the competence of the state and employers in the matter of women returning to work after parental leave. The most common methods of taking care of children younger than three years are also shown.There is a conception of Homeworking introduced as an alternative in the matter of harmonization of family and work life.
Compatibility of opinions on parenting in couples

The aim of this study is to compare views on parenting of partners (from a gender perspective) in families caring for children. Changes in women's position in society, their increasing financial contribution to the family budget and therefore economic background influence the opinions about the overall organization of family life, which is reflected in the actual division of parental roles and associated responsibilities. Although the paper focuses primarily on the opinions and ideas about parenting, I did not fail to devote some space also their subsequent practice. Close interaction of people who share a household and raising children, can result in blindness, which in turn creates the feeling of certain conformity of opinion. Parents can sometimes mistakenly believe that their views on parenthood are shared by their partners. In the research I have included ten couples raising two or more children. For the chosen method of semi-structured interviews, I selected respondents from my circle of acquaintances. The choice was quite deliberate, as with many of them I knew for a long time.
