Asylum Seekers in the Czech Republic and their employment
Botková, Tereza ; Nová, Monika (advisor) ; Šedivý, Jiří (referee)
This thesis deals with the possibilities of employment of Asylum seekers on the labour market in the Czech Republic. I analyse this issue from the perspective of the workers of the Organisation for Aid to Refugee (hereinafter referred to as the OAR), whose task is to assist Asylum seekers on the labour market. I set three research questions, one main and two secondary. They focus on the overall perspective of the participants, the OAR workers, on the issue of employment of the Asylum seekers, to identify the barriers perceived by the participants in their efforts to integrate their clients into the labour market. I was also interested in their suggestions for possible changes that would improve the chances of the target group in the labour market. This thesis includes a qualitative research inquiry, which is conducted in the form of semi-structured interviews with participants. The results of the interviews are subsequently processed using the method of thematic analysis in order to provide answers to the research questions. The eight participants I selected from the OAR have personal experience with the target group of Asylum seekers. They are four lawyers and four social workers. The first chapter of the thesis describes the terms for different residence possibilities of foreigners in the Czech...

Legal regulation of undertaking business by foreigners in the Czech Republic and Italy: a comparison
Hísková, Eva ; Růžička, Květoslav (advisor) ; Brodec, Jan (referee)
I chose the topic of comparing the legal modifications of the business activities of foreigners because I consider this topic "a starting point" for the comparison of other areas of law, for example, insolvency law, company law, labour law etc. I chose the comparison with Italian law mainly because I am a graduate of FF UK (Philosophical Faculty of Charles University), specialization in germanic-romance languages and from 1996 I have been a legal translator in both Italian and German. For maximum clarity I have divided the entire work into three parts - History, Concepts and Current legal modifications. Further, I have systematically divided these parts into chapters in order that any interested individuals could easily orient themselves in the work. Many differences can be found in the current legal modifications of both countries, however, since both countries are under the influence of community law the differences are not so distinct. I consider the most significant difference in the legal modifications of both countries to be that the Czech Republic has set out in the European direction as late as the nineties due to historical and political reasons. This relates to the distinct development during these years, signifying the de-socialization of business activities and liberalization and the...
Illegal foreigners' employment in the Czech Republic
Trousilová, Jana ; Geissler, Hana (advisor) ; Jelínková, Marie (referee)
The thesis deals with the illegal employment of the third countries' foreigners in the Czech Republic. Since foreign labor migration is a subject set by the legislation, the thesis introduces the development of labor migration in the setting of policy and foreign employment in terms of institutional and legal framework. Another part is based on interviews I conducted with employers, strangers, staff offices and experts. Due to the persistent illegal labor supply and demand, I focused on the motives that lead employers and foreigners to apply that kind of illegal employment. Themes, however, cause a number of consequences, so I focused on the consequences that affect not only migrants themselves but also the state. The next part of my thesis deals with the individual groups of respondents. I focused on setting the current employment system and on the labor market conditions from the sight of addressed respondents. In conclusion, I point out the possible solutions to the mentioned problems in order to reduce the illegal employment of foreigners.

Leshkova, Olga ; Příhoda, Marek (advisor) ; Čermák, Václav (referee)
The objective of the master's thesis is to analyze the image of foreigners in Moscovian texts written during the Time of Troubles and soon after it in early 17th century. The thesis will also focus on the perception of foreign influence on political and cultural development of Russian state and society. Due to the fact that the perception of foreigners in Muscovite Russia can be regarded in many aspects as a result of traditional religious and historical thinking concepts which had been widespread in the country by the end of the 16th century, we will pay particular attention to the formation of medieval Moscovian thinking. By means of discourse and comparative analysis we will try to fulfil the following goals: 1) to study the religious and historical thinking formation process in medieval Russia up to the beginning of the 17th century; 2) to analyze various specific features of Moscovian texts from early 17th century in terms of foreigners' perception; 3) to put the issue of foreigners' perception into a wider cultural and historical context, especially with regard to appropriate literature and thinking tradition. This study is based on Moscovian texts of different nature, which reflect the Time of Troubles. We also use a wide range of appropriate secondary literature. Key Words: Time of...
