The practical part of the thesis is focused on action research. The aim was to find out how it is possible to transform activating methods into e-learning of Czech language and literature. Part of the research was finding resources that can be used to fulfill the various activating methods in e-learning and to examine amount of their effectiveness in teaching. Main research has been provided by active observations and making notes into pedagogical diary. Through observation, the thesis shows specific teaching methods and evaluates their effectiveness in the online environment oin secondary school ArtEcon Prague. These methods were practiced during the 2020/21 academic year. It has been found that all activating methods can be transferred to an online environment, but their effectiveness varies. Staging methods were chosen as the least effective and...
Comparison of selected educational platforms
Kubíčková, Karolina ; Svobodová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Tureckiová, Michaela (referee)
The thesis compares selected educational platforms. Its aim was to analyse the selected online platforms and their functions with regard to the possibility of incorporating modern teaching methods in adult education. The theoretical part is based on desk research, relevant literature and other available sources and defines the terms related to the issue, which are andragogy, adult education methods and online education. It also presents current trends and objectives of education in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part concludes with an overview of relevant theoretical background from which the research part of this thesis is based on. In view of the need for a detailed examination of the selected platforms, a qualitative research strategy and a content analysis method were chosen. The platforms chosen for the research are Knowspread, Thinkific, Miro and BigBlueButton. For the purposes of the thesis, their functions for course design were characterized and presented in the analysis. The interpretation of the data conveys a summary table which shows that all the above mentioned platforms include the functionality to upload a file, embed a URL to an external multimedia/website and the functionality to download the embedded file. Other features differ based on whether the platform is synchronous or...

Zoological preparation techniques in school practice
Odcházelová, Tereza ; Mourek, Jan (advisor) ; Šíma, Petr (referee)
This thesis consists of description of chosen methods of permanent macroscopic zoological preparations. I verified successfully all the methods in practice and in case of methodological difficulties I optimized them for use in the school environment. In this work I answered the questions that could come up throughout the preparation process, for example: how to preserve the animal correctly; where to acquire the animal legally; what is the best way to maintain the animal's natural colour; what materials to use for the preparation and so on. According to current approaches I created not only a text based version of the manual of all verified preparation methods, but also an online version in form of a web site. To clarify the methods I included video sequences, photographs and schemes. With this e- learning course a teacher will be able to extend the school collection with his own preparations and also will be able to recognize what significant characteristics to point out. As a part of my work I have done a questionnaire focused on using various types of equipment in biology lectures. I have asked primary school teachers and high school teachers from all regions in the Czech Republic. This questionnaire was sent online and 322 out of 1636 people responded. The answers tell us that teachers...
Teaching of parasitism in elementary and secondary schools
Čiháková, Kateřina ; Mourek, Jan (advisor) ; Ehler, Edvard (referee)
Main aim of this master thesis is to map the situation of parasitism teaching in elementary and grammar schools. Thats why it contains analysis of reachable elementary and grammar school textbooks - it informs about various kinds of rating the textbooks, which can help both - current and future teachers of biology - to better know and identify reachable textbooks and choose the right ones for the parasitism teaching. It also contains test results of students parasitism knowledge, which are generally very good. Anyway they should learn much more about parazite's manipulation of their host behavior. Other part of my master thesis shows the results of grammar school teachers-filled questionnaires. All questionnaire results (teachers' and students') show that there can be an improvement in parasitism teaching. In next section you can find the Framework Education Programme analysis, own educational programme draft - workbooks, didactic games and powerpoint presentations. Thanks to the realization of teaching the parazites manipulation of their host behavior I found out that students' interest in the topic is quite big so it would be a shame not to share this newly explored area of parasitism with them. Key words: parasite, host, manipulation hypothesis, questionnaires, parasitism teaching
Internet Educational Atlas Focusing on Soil Arthropods
Dvořáková, Jana ; Mourek, Jan (advisor) ; Říhová, Dagmar (referee)
The main objective of this thesis was to create an educational website aimed at soil arthropods. It can be used primarily by teachers of biology and ecology, lecturers of extracurricular science education or by the students who are interested in this issue. This photographic atlas of soil arthropods consists of my own micro images obtained by the use of light and scanning electron microscope. The micro images are accompanied by text to each group of soil arthropods, which is divided into sections containing information about the systematic classification, anatomy and morphology, biology and importance, eventually representatives of the group. The atlas is accompanied by other materials usable in the classroom, such as didactic test, didactic game and proposals for group work, worksheet, field and laboratory work or educational presentations focused on soil arthropods. These materials can be downloaded from the website, along with the entire atlas of soil arthropods. The atlas is available on the following address: https://sites.google.com/site/pudniclenovci/. The review of the literature deals with the importance of arthropods in the soil and their mutual interactions. Then I describe the methods of study of arthropods (sampling, sample preparation for light and scanning electron microscopy and...
