The Question of History and Time in Modern Theology

The diploma thesis "The Question of History and Time in Modern Theology" aims to introduce the basic forms of thinking about history and time in modern theology. First of all, the work focuses on the initial forms of history and time outside of theology. Results are compared with a basic understanding of the same in Christianity. This is followed by a study of five selected theologians of the 20th century, who were interested in the problem of history and time. The study also reflects reactions to their scholar's conclusions too.
The concept of revolution in the work of N.A. Berdyaev

This thesis is focused on a concept of revolution in writings of Russian philosopher Nikolai Berdyaev. It starts with general characteristics of a philosopher's works and special attention is given to the style of his writing. Main objective of the thesis is a description of Berdyaev's relation to the term revolution itself, which is given from philosophical, sociological and his- toriosophical perspective, as well as putting his notion of revolution into the context of histor- ical events that has occurred during the first quarter of 20th century in Russia. Thesis draws on Berdyaev's articles that appeared in these collections of papers: The Problems of Idealism (Problemy idealizma), Signposts (Vekhi), De profundis (Iz glubiny) and on his works: The Spir- itual Crisis of the Intelligentsia, The Philosophy of Inequality, The Spiritual Origins of Russian Revolution.

Administration of the City of Rakovnik in the Late Middle Ages This work deals with the administration of the city of Rakovnik in the Late Middle Ages as it is reflected in the contemporary municipal books and records of the time. The focus of this work is on the development and operation of the municipal administration, with special attention being given to the existence and activities of city officials, as well as the purpose of individual aspects of the city's administrative life, and the control over such activities maintained by municipal authorities.
Publically and literarily active Teachers in Kolin and vicinity 1848 - 1948

The bachelor thesis deals with the teachers in Kolin and the surrounding area and their involvement in the cultural and political life of the town. In terms of scope, the work covers the years from 1848 to 1948 with a slight overlap. For practical reasons the thesis is divided into three sections covering the periods 1848-1900, 1900-1918 and 1918-1948. Each section contains a part describing the history of the town, its economic, cultural and political development. The next part includes the history of two schools in Kolin whose establishment was of great importance for the town: the grammar school and the business academy. The last part focuses on the selected teachers. Each one is presented with a short biography, artistic activities, and above all their involvement in the public life of the town. This paper includes also an appendix with the excerpts from works of several of the teachers and the period photographs of the town.
Putin's Historical Narrative: Problems of Russian Post-Soviet Identity and the Role of History during Putin's Presidency 2000-2008

The thesis focuses on a historical narrative promoted by president Putin during his first two terms in office during the years 2000 - 2008. Furthermore it aims to analyse the consequences of Putin's uses of history on the domestic and the international level. First, theoretical aspects of political use of history are drafted since they are essential to understand the role history plays in a nation-building process. Consequently, tools used to promote a certain historical narrative are mentioned. The work describes main problems related to the formation of Russian post-Soviet identity and analyses causes of Yeltsin's failure in this task. Subsequently, Putin's political visions such as a need of strong Russia and restoration of great power status are presented. The work also identifies how Putin's political goals project into his view of history. The main characteristics of Putin's historical narrative are analysed on a basis of secondary literature and Putin's speeches. The thesis focuses separately on Putin's use of symbols of three Russian historical époques - the Tsarist Russia, the Soviet Union and the Yeltsin era. Title of the thesis: Districts and places of Paris in the course of history: Montmartre Keywords: streets, squares, history, cabaret, bohemian, film, point of interest Abstract: The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the Parisian district of Montmartre. In many aspects it is quite an exceptional quarter and totally different from other districts of Paris. Its characteristic features make it famous worldwide. Thus the chief aim of the work was to try to find out what is so specific about it, what makes its position in Paris so privileged and in what way it has contributed to the overall development of French culture. The work is conceived as a specific historical and cultural view of the district and strives at picking up its most characteristic features which brought it to the notice of the French themselves as well as members of other peoples around the world. What contributed to the latter to a great degree were its architectonic monuments, and, moreover, its cabarets and concert cafés. On top of that, it was also made famous through the works of many renowned artists.

The main focus of interest is also the approach of the playwright to selected literary and theatrical genres as historical drama, Lehrstück and postdramatic theatre. The philosophical background of the analysis is based mainly on Walter Benjamin's essay On the Concept of History and his description of the painting Angelus Novus by Paul Klee. Furthermore, the thesis examines the methods of dramatization in Heiner Müller's plays.
