Political development of the National Libaral Party to 1914.

This Master's thesis is depicting the development of the National Liberal Party, from the earliest stage in the 1860s, up to the year 1914. This depiction is based on expert texts as well as historical and political science literature. The thesis is focused on the political background in Austria and subsequently also Austria-Hungary. The historical part of the thesis is primarily focused on the absolute regime, as well as the national efforts to liberalize the constitutional and political demands. A standalone part of the thesis is dedicated to the division between the Old Czech Party and the Young Czech Party, primarily focusing on their political differences and shared nationalism. The establishment of the National Liberal Party in 1874 was followed by its political and agenda development. The political development is depicted in its election results, as well as its functioning in the parliament of Cisleithania. Since 1879, both the Old Czech Party and the Young Czech Party participated in defending the human rights in Vienna's Czechen-Club. The year 1891 brought about a large change when the National Liberal Party won in the election against the National Party and so became the hegemon of Czech politics. Social Networks as a communication channel of selected political parties before elections to the European Parliament in 2019

The diploma thesis "Social networks as a communication channel of selected political parties before the elections to the European Parliament in 2019" deals with political communication on the social network Facebook and Twitter. The aim of this thesis is to find out how selected political parties communicate on social networks in the election campaign, what type of form and content they used the most. The work also focuses on differences between communication on both networks. The theoretical part focuses on explaining the concept of political communication and political marketing, defines social networks and their types. The next sections are devoted to a brief description of selected networks and political subjects and describe the connection between the political space and the tools of social networks. The analytical part is based on a quantitative and qualitative content analysis in four weeks before the elections to the European Parliament in 2019. The gained data are supplemented by information from semi-structured interviews. The thesis evaluates the strategy of using social networks with the aid of established research questions and hypotheses.
The development of the discourse of right-wing populism in the Czech Republic

The thesis examines the development of right-wing populist discourse in the Czech Republic and aims to define the forms and possible changes in populist discourse with a special emphasis on argumentation, then to interpret the changes in a broader social and political context. The research focuses on three organizational incarnations of right-wing populism: Public Affairs, Dawn of Direct Democracy - Tomio Okamura and Freedom and Direct Democracy - Tomio Okamura. The research method is a discursive-historical approach, which draws on the analysis of topoi. An analysis of the programs of the two movements and the party showed that the right-wing populist discourse has shifted from the original themes that the Public Affairs party has raised. These are included in the other two movements, but each adds something extra. From the initial anti-elite attitudes, social chauvinism and emphasis on direct democracy in the case of Public Affairs to nationalism and the promotion of national pride in the case of the Dawn, to the harsh euroscepticism, Islamophobia and anti-immigration appeals in the case of the SPD. Economic Policy in Parliament election context in 2017 - Comparative content analysis

The presented thesis 'Economic Policy in Parliament election context in 2017' is describing the media image of successful political parties prior to the elections to the Chamber of Deputies in Czech Republic in October 2017. Mass media act as an intermediator of contact between the political parties or politicians themselves and voters and they have a crucial impact on the party's public appearance and image that is being presented. Especially during the pre-election period are media concerned about the political actions, decisions and election programs. The analysis is focused on the media attention and media space dedicated to the electoral and political topics. Chosen newspapers are Hospodářské noviny and Lidové noviny that represent serious approach in reporting the news. The method of quantitative content analysis allows to show the media space given, describe the type, format and main focus of the texts published. The diploma thesis describes also the political communication according to the theory of the political business cycles. The method of quantitative content analysis benefits from using a large scale of data and showing relevant conclusions at the same time.
Activity of winning political parties on Facebook before the European Parliament elections in 2019

This bachelor thesis focuses on communication on the social network Facebook in the Czech Republic in the election period of the European Parliament elections in 2019. The aim of the thesis is to analyze and interpret the data from the election campaigns of individual political parties, which obtained the mandate. The theoretical part of the thesis describes selected theories of political communication on social networks. It also presents the demographic structure of users who use social networks in the Czech Republic. He is also engaged in political marketing on the social network Facebook. The practical part analyzes the activity of political parties on the social network Facebook, which was part of the election campaigns. The winning political parties are relevant to this work. This data is selected and analyzed using ZoomSphere software. These are the frequency of published contributions by political actors, the time sequence of messages and their structure. Furthermore, the popularity of individual political entities and the response of potential voters of a particular political party on the social network are evaluated.
100 Years of KDU-CSL in Czech Politics: Party's Development and Comparison with Austrian OVP

The bachelor's thesis "One Hundred Years of KDU-ČSL on the Czech Political Scene: Party Development and Comparison with the Austrian ÖVP" primarily deals with a detailed analysis of the Czech political party KDU-ČSL and subsequent comparison with the Austrian political party ÖVP. The aim is to find out why KDU-ČSL does not achieve such electoral support in the Czech Republic as ÖVP does in Austria. The main concept of the thesis is a political party, therefore is the thesis first devoted to its definition and theories of the emergence of political parties based on different typologies. Last but not least, bachelor's thesis also deals with a detailed historical analysis of the KDU-ČSL and ÖVP. The main part of the bachelor thesis is contained in the last chapter, which is a comparison of both political parties, election results, membership and electoral base, organizational structure, or current election programs. In the end, the results of the comparison are evaluated, in which data from professional sources and available statistics were used.
Youth organization of political parties in Czech Republic

All the youth political organizations, that were included in his research, aimed to provide its political parties with the function of party stabilization, They acted as a mediator between political party and the defined part of society. There is an assumption, that institutionalized political party wants a strong and durable relationship with the affiliated organization because of its mutually beneficial functions. Moreover, these parties should also aim to formalize this relationship via its statutes. However, in the Czech Republic there is a strong tendency toward omitting this form of relationship as the parties prefer more informal relations. This diploma thesis discovered, that in the only youth political organization with formal ties to its maternal organization was Young Social Democrats. Even though these youth political parties act lice a support structure, they can be also perceived by political party as a potential source of instability and danger.
Creation and development of TOP 09 from 2009 to the present

The goal of this Thesis is to introduce the circumstances of creation the political party TOP09, its development, results in elections in years 2010 - 2018 and its position in current political scene. In the introduction I will define the theoretical background and context. I will interduce the political party, its place in the system and I mention the typology of political parties. Then I will describe the party system with an emphasis on party system in Czech Republic. In the main part of the Thesis I will describe circumstances of creation the political party TOP09 and define programmatic of the party. I'm going to analyze a reason of successes and failures of the party in elections, which took place on Czech Republic, since its creation in 2008 till present year 2018. In this thesis is based on analytical, descriptive and comparative methods.

The thesis deals with the emergence of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and its development in the 1920s. The first part is devoted to the historical roots of the socialist movement in Austria-Hungary and the Czech lands and maps the birth of the Communist Party from the left wing of the Czechoslovak Social Democratic Workers' Party. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on the policy and internal development of the Communist Party in the 1920s in connection with its relationship to the Communist International. It also describes the most important events that influenced the party, individual congresses of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, their conclusions and in the context there is explained the strategic-tactical direction of the party. The thesis also monitors the development of communist agitation before the parliamentary elections of 1925 and 1929 and the results of these elections. The work uses specialized literature, protocols of individual congresses of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and articles from the period press.
