Political Discourse of Coalitions in the Social Housing Policy in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis examine a social housing in the Czech Republic. This is very actual topic of nowadays. Until now, no legislative norm has been adopted to deal with the difficult housing distress of the population. While comparing with other European and non-European countries, Czech housing legislation is about to lose its breath. For example in terms of affordability of housing, quality of housing, housing security etc. The reason of this diploma thesis is to analyze the network connections between subsystem of social housing through public political theory Advocacy Coalition Framework The very first software tool in the Czech Republic which apply the theory in practise was tool called Discourse Network Analyzer. The core part of the research of the diploma thesis is therefore a discourse analysis, which focuses on examining the political beliefs of the subsystems and identifying the advocacy coalitions of the subsystem. Followed up with interpretations of the data obtained indicated political beliefs in historical, social and economic circumstances. The main findings of the diploma thesis include confirmation of three advocacy coalitions in the subsystem of social housing.
Laboratory model "Liquid Tanks" innovation

This bachelor thesis deals with innovation of laboratory exercise „Tanks“. There are described the most used sensors and actuators including means of connection to PLC. The ANSI/ISA S88 and ANSI/ISA S95 standards are depicted as well with emphasis on key performace indicators. Technological tanks are documented here including industrial use examples since the laboratory exercise „tanks“ works with model of a technological tank. Furthermore there are briefly analyzed PLC programming languages, especially SCL. In the end, there is the laboratory exercise assigment with technological scheme and attention of error states.
Reflection of the Syrian Civil War in selected Czech Media

This thesis deals with the depiction of four important periods of the Syrian civil war in the selected Czech on-line media. Using the quantitative content analysis, it examines the news content in terms of topics and representation of conflict actors, as well as the representation of foreign media and news agencies a use of social networks. Goal of qualitative frame analysis is to examine coverage of the Syrian Arab Army siege of Zabadani and Madaya as well as the siege of Fuah and Kafraya by Syrian opposition forces. In addition to the frames used, the analysis found significant disparity in media coverage, despite a similar and interconnected fate of both besieged enclaves. Quantitative analysis revealed significant representation of western sources, predominance of the great power actors and rather negative image of the Syrian government as well as the Syrian opposition.
Exchange of views presented on Facebook - discussions and its actors

The thesis "Exchange of views presented on Facebook - discussions and its actors" deals with discussion threads on Facebook. In theoretical part the author aims to look at Facebook as a separate internet medium that requires an active interaction from its users. He deals with Marshall McLuhan's and Erving Goffman's theory and aims to work with the evolution of the social network. In practical part the author focuses on the Facebook discussion threads itself and on its actors. To cope with his research problem, he uses two qualitative methods, discourse analysis of Facebook's discussion threads and semi- structured interviews. He tries to distinguish whether there are any interaction patterns, discourse terminology used by debaters within the discussion threads and he also aims to describe Facebook discussion threads from overall perspective. In semi-structured interviews the main goal is to reveal a motivation to present an opinion online.
Implamentation of graduation examination in mathematic from the viewpoint of education policy actors.

The bachelor thesis is focused on the implementation of a compulsory math exam in mathematics at secondary schools in the Czech republic. The thesis describes the implementation of compulsory math examinations in mathematics as a educational policy instrument. The creators and recipients of this decision are revealed through the analysis of actors. The research is focused on the perspective of the head masters and mathematics teachers. This work describes the anchoring of head masters and teachers in the educational policy in the Czech Republic. Using semi-structured interviews the thesis discovers the beliefs and analyzes the perceptions and disagreements between actors. The research is based on the questioning of actors from different types of secondary schools.
Effectiveness of the decision-making process in the WTO - the Uruguay and Doha round

The study examines multilateral negotiation in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade and later in the World Trade Organization. It analyses the effectiveness of the decision-making process on the liberalization of trade in agricultural products in the Uruguay and Doha rounds of negotiations. Agriculture seems to be the most problematic and the most controversial issue on the agenda during the both rounds of negotiations. The aim of the study is to analyse the negotiation processes in selected cases and compare them to identify factors explaining the difference in the effectiveness of the decision-making process between Uruguay and Doha round. The study also attempts to clarify why it is so complicated to conclude the Doha round after more than fifteen years of negotiations. Therefore, six factors with presumed influence on the effectiveness of the decision-making process are defined in the theoretical part of the study: number of actors, leadership, inclusiveness of negotiation, agenda complexity, coalitions and strategies of actors. The degree of influence of these factors is then tested in the practical part of the study. The Amendment to the Insolvency Act (Focused on Personal Bankruptcy)

This diploma thesis deals with the current amendment of the Insolvency Act. It was written by the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic. There is introduce the current amendment focuses on personal bankuptcy. The thesis introduces the legislative process of this amendment. For the identification of the actors was used the theory of advocacy coalitions. It shows their conflict of opinions. Two very different coalitions were defined in this problem amendment of Insolvency Act. Based on expert interviews were identified weaknesses of personal bankruptcy and devided into several groups. The study works with the concept of social stratification. It is used to ilustrate quantitative analysis. It contains the research sample of 91 and it completed insolvency proceedings (personal bankruptcy with repayment schedule). The sample were chosen from the relevant courts in Prague, Liberec region and Ústí nad Labem region. The results have been compared in the context of each area and as a whole sample.
Accountability in Higher Education in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis "Accountability in tertiary education in the Czech Republic" is based on the concept of accountability, which is defined as a social relation between two actors, where one actor is obliged to justify his conduct and behavior to another. This diploma thesis has been mainly written on a theoretical base - the accountability concept, which will be applied in the Czech tertiary education. The main aim of the presented diploma thesis is to find out, whether the concept of accountability in the Czech Republic will contribute to the expansion of a professional knowledge in tertiary education system. The set aim further allows verification, if accountability as a concept might be beneficial for further research in this field. The objective of this diploma thesis will further describe how accountability is applied in the tertiary education and outline such a complex network of relations between actors. State-administrated secondary schooling leaving examinations (Maturita): stated objectives from the actors perspective

The bachelor's thesis deals with the area of education policy as a subset of public policy. It focuses on the issues associated with the Czech secondary school graduation examination (maturitní zkouška), presenting especially the current thinking in the area of graduation examination from the viewpoint of education policy actors. This thesis utilises the Advocacy Coalition Framework approach to identify belief consensuses within the graduation examination discourse across a segment of selected expert participants. For this purpose, the Q-methodology is applied as it is fundamentally able to reveal consensuses and thus identify the relevant coalitions. The chapter containing the outputs of Q factor analysis constitutes a crucial part of the thesis, clearly revealing two independent schools of thought in this area. Exploratory interviews were conducted during field research and their outputs significantly contributed to the description of the established factors and advocacy coalitions.
The Civil Service Act: Monitoring the Process of Making of the Act No. 234/2014 Coll., of the Civil Service

I devote major attention to the Act no. 234/2014 Coll., of the Civil Service, which was accepted despite the veto of the President on 1st October 2014. I briefly characterize the law and in the practical part I analyze and interpret the process of making of this law through a theoretical concept "Multiple Streams Approach". Within the theory I focus on the context of agenda setting to the issue and simultaneously I take into account the role of Policy Entrepreneurs in the legislative process of the Civil Service Act. After reading the reader will have an overview of the process of making the Civil Service Act. The reader will be also familiar with the shortcomings of this Act, for which it was criticized. The theoretical part is used for introducing to the issue. In the theoretical part I outline the historical development of the civil service in Czech Republic and I also briefly characterize the Civil Service Act. Subsequently the reader gets the knowledge about the content of "Multiple Streams Approach" in this part. The practical part of diploma work is enriched by attitudes and opinions of two political actors, who directly attended of discussing the law in Chamber of Deputies. It will be possible to compare the data received from expert survey with the results of the analysis process of making law.
