Use of social network analysis in analyzing social environment of a project manager
Hájek, Martin ; Chocholatý, Drahomír (advisor) ; Hřebíček, Vladimír (referee)
Diploma thesis deals with the social environment of a project manager and describes different approaches in its analysis. The social environment is defined as a sum of soft factors that affect a project manager and influence the course of the project. Besides proficiency in various project management methodologies, knowledge of the project plan, and understanding of the client's field of business, awareness of the social environment is essential for eventual project success. Thesis objectives aim at defining the scope of the social environment, and presenting analysis techniques and methods, through which it is possible to enhance overall project performance. Other objectives include stating recommendations for project managers to fully comprehend their social environment, and documenting discussed findings on project related case studies -- among others also on the social networks analysis conducted in a real life project environment. The thesis describes three analysis methods -- social network analysis, stakeholder analysis, and analysis of psychological profile of the team members, which mutually complement each other and provide project managers with a comprehensive overview of their social environments. Social network analysis is elaborated on the most in detail, because it forms theoretical as well as practical introduction to the topic, and a base for further analyses.

Gene expression profiling after experimental perinatal asphyxia and the effect of complement-derived anaphylatoxin C3a
Šourková, Hana ; Wsól, Vladimír (advisor) ; Šimůnek, Tomáš (referee)
Background: The complement system is involved in neuroprotection and brain repair after brain damage. To understand the molecular mechanisms of these processes, we performed gene expression profiling using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR), which is the most accurate modern strategy for gene expression analysis. Project: Our project was directly aimed at expression profiling of selected genes potentially involved in loss and rescue of neural tissue during three weeks after hypoxic-ischemic brain injury, an experimental model of perinatal asphyxia. Recent experiments have shown that over-expression of C3a under the control of the GFAP promoter (C3a/GFAP) reduced hippocampal injury after left common carotid artery ligation in neonatal mice by 50%, compared to wild type mice. Here, we assessed how the local expression of C3a/GFAP transgene affects gene expression profiles. Gene expression was measured on samples from hippocampus ipsilateral and contralateral to the injury and ipsilateral part of cortex, taken at the time of injury, 6 and 24 hours; 3, 7 and 21 days after the injury. Results: Our data showed that the regulation of gene expression after hypoxic-ischemic injury differs in timing and intensity and may also be region dependent. The analysed genes belong to families...

Blahoslav Pípal as Verbi Divini Minister
Hudcová, Debora ; Beneš, Ladislav (advisor) ; Filipi, Pavel (referee)
The Master thesis "Blahoslav Pípal as Verbi Divini Minister" offers a theological profile of a preacher. It is divided into six chapters. The introduction presents the character of the study. The second chapter describes the preacher ́s itinerary - Pípal ́s activity in several congregations of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethern (ČCE). The third chapter is devoted to the thematical analysis of his sermons (main themes are God, christology, Church, life, man). The first part of the fourth chapter features the form and the structure of Pípal ́s sermons. It shows how the preacher works with the biblical text and how he addresses the auditory. Two sermons are analysed in detail in the second part of the fourth chapter. The final chapter presents B. Pípal as an exegete and as a translator. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Executive functions in individuals with autism and possible intervention
Viktorinová, Michaela ; Loneková, Katarína (referee) ; Šípek, Jiří (advisor)
There have been many psychological theories which tried to unravel the functioning of individuals with autism. This paper perceives autism as an executive function disorder. It focuses mainly on one single component - verbal and nonverbal fluency. The theoretical part of the paper analyzes some of the well-known executive function models. Since at the end the thesis draws conclusions for possible intervention in autism, the knowledge of these models seems to be essential. The methodological aspects of executive function research are tackled as well. The dispute between the supporters of executive dysfunction hypothesis and advocates of its rival theory - Theory of Mind, is still ongoing. Their main arguments are therefore briefly discussed. However, the essence of the theoretical part lies in the executive function profile and the analysis of the main executive components. Conclusions of the theoretical part then lead us to the formulation of empirical hypotheses. In the empirical part 13 individuals with Asperger syndrome and 13 healthy controls were tested. The verbal and nonverbal abilities in both groups were taken into account. Three studies were executed. First of them dealt with the "purity" of fluency tasks and revealed significant influence of intelligence over individuals performance. In the...

Changes in organization and its employment consequences
Ptáčková, Petra ; Peřina, Pavel (referee) ; Štefko, Martin (advisor)
91 ABSTRACT Title: Organizational changes and their labour-law results The title of my diploma thesis indicates that my work is focused on changes in organization (business, undertaking) and their consequent results for the employers and their employees. I have chosen this issue as I regard it as being topical and interesting. The purpose of my thesis is to show why organizations carry out restructuring, in which ways they perform them, who decides about them, how the organizational changes in- fluence the employment relationship and to describe social protection of employees affected by organizational changes. The thesis is divided into three parts. The main analysis of my work is concen- trated in the second part which is subdivided into four capitols. In the first capitol I shortly explain the terms organization, organizational struc- ture and especially organizational change. Firstly, I generally describe an organizational change as a reaction to external influences (for example new facts in global economy) and also as a reaction to current changes in the organization. I try to illustrate that or- ganizational changes could be perform either inside an organization (so called "internal changes") or they could extend its scope (so called "external changes"). Secondly, I define both types of changes in...

Function of a camp in children's education
Kamiš, Petr ; Frainšic, Michal (referee) ; Neuman, Jan (advisor)
SUMMARY: The thesis is devoted to problems of summer children's camp, its function and use in children education. There are two relatively independent parts of thesis - theoretic and practical. In theoretic part at the beginning we explained history and origin of camps, scouting, stay in nature and camping globally. Consequently we described educational component of camp and its function. Further we analysed and described individual terms, which are related to the thesis - summer child's camp, economics of camp running, programme, the whole - camp games, daily schedule, health provision, technical provision, catering and not least motion and regeneration of children. We did not forget to aim on the work of leadership, senior manager as well as also connection on camp operator, as well as to other structures, which in function of camp must operate, in order to complete sense of these actions. The practical part of the thesis is realized by the help of questionnaire and independent observation. The research point at activity of camp as whole, whether children on camp liked the camp, how they liked programme of camp, what they missed and whether they learn something. At the same time it adverts to importance and need of close communication among the children and leadership, but also among the children...

Epigenetic regulation of HLA class II genes and their role in autoimmune diseases.
Čepek, Pavel ; Kotrbová - Kozak, Anna Katarzyna (advisor) ; Horníková, Lenka (referee)
Abstract Background: Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a multifactorial autoimmune disease. Its incidence in Europe is continuously rising. The highest T1D risk is associated with HLA (human leukocyte antigen) class II genes. HLA class II molecules play a key role in regulation of immune response. They contribute to the selection of T cell repertoire by presenting antigenic peptides to the CD4+ T lymphocytes. HLA class II expression is controlled by regulatory module that is situated 150 - 300 base pairs upstream of the transcription- initiation site in all HLA class II genes. Polymorphisms in this region are linked to some autoimmune diseases. There were identified several promoter alleles (named QAP) in the HLA DQA1 gene promoter region. Most of the polymorphisms appear to be conserved within haplotype. Individual QAP alleles may have a different promoter strength by which they influence expression of HLA DQA1 gene alleles. Promoter strength can be modulated by DNA methylation. Aims:Our aim was to define methylation profile of HLA DQA1 promoters and determine the mRNA expression of individual alleles of HLA DQA1 gene in T1D patients. The mRNA expression level of HLA DQA1 gene alleles was determined using quantitative PCR. Methods: 30 diabetic pacients (age range 21 to 76 years), were included in this pilot...

Hošková, Jana ; Kopřiva, Radek (advisor) ; Lenka, Lenka (referee)
The present dissertation is focused on the development of the party systems on the local level of political decision making with the aim to verify applicability of the party systems theory. The dissertation is divided into two parts - the theoretical bases and the thesis itself. The theoretical part deals with the definitions of the fundamental concepts, such as a political party, a municipality, municipal administration, the municipal election system, and last but not at least it is focused on the party systems and their applicability in practice. The practical part of the dissertation is approached as a case study dealing with the town of Nýrsko. It contains a short characterization of the basic demographic and socio-economic indicator of the municipality. The thesis searches for the main factors having an influence on the party system in the municipality of Nýrsko, it inquires about the political area for the consequent study of the political system, the extent of political participation, the political plurality and the inception of political parties. Then the applicability of the party system theory and the role of political parties in the local political area are researched.
