Title: Electroweak processes in the framework of effective field theory Author: Petr Soukup Department: Institute of Particle and Nuclear Physics Supervisor: RNDr. Karol Kampf, Ph.D. Supervisor's e-mail address: kampf@troja.mff.cuni.cz Abstract: In this thesis, we study electroweak processes within the framework of ef- fective field theory employing the approach of effective Lagrangians. We mainly focus on the decay process H → γγ. A complete set of SU(2) × U(1) invariant dimension- six operators is utilized. We present a brief introduction to GWS Standard model and dimension-six effective operators. One-loop Standard model contribution to the process of H → γγ is then evaluated, followed by calculation of tree-level and one-loop level dimension-six operators contribution to the same process. We then present a brief ge- neral summary of renormalization procedure in quantum field theory. Renormalization of performed calculations is implemented, and possible issues that may arise during renormalization of such non-renormalizable theory are also discussed. In the end, we discuss the obtained results, mainly the dependence of H → γγ decay rate on effective theory's free parameters and the scale of the new physics Λ. Focus is made on possible deviations from Standard model results. The results are plotted in charts....

Free-Time Activities as a System of Interdisciplinary Development of Children
Marád, Michal ; Kovaříková, Miroslava (referee) ; Kučírek, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis provides a systematic insight to issues of pupils' free-time activities in relation to primary school transformation. The aim is to show a new perspective of developing personalities of children by means of free-time activities at primary schools. Theoretic part of the thesis presents a systematic overview of the subject matter. By literary search method, there are explored current educational needs and real possibilities of developing key competencies of school-age children during their free time. The practical part includes description of a survey conducted employing quantitative and qualitative methods of pedagogical research. The outcomes of the survey reflect various free-time activities typical for adolescents. Structured interviews enabled to monitor activities of after-school centers from the point of view of pupils, their parents and teachers. The study proved predominating passive approach of pupils to their free-time activities partly caused by non-systematic education and care in their younger school age. The thesis concludes in a project proposal based on possible ways of implementing systematic interdisciplinary approach aimed at developing pupils' competencies by means of free-time education managed by schools.

Nam.e ofthe work: Regeneration ofroad cyclists Obj-ectives of the work: to carry out an examination of the state of regeneration in road cyclists' teams in the Czech Republic on the basis of theoretical knowledge and empirical evidence of the author, and after its evaluation further suggestions for improvement of the regeneration process procedure would be offered. Method: The research was carried out using methods of analysis of training documentation (cyclists' training log books), interviews (to state ways of spending free time and also to state subjective feelings of competitors toward regeneration), questionnaires and observation. Evaluation of the collected data was done by percent occurrence ofindividua! variables. Results: The research revealed grave defects in the process ofregeneration of road cyclists - in fact in all aspects of regeneration. With reference to this finding the author suggests certain steps to optimise the process ofroad cyclists' regeneration. Key words: road cycling, rehabilitation, regeneration, fatigue, means ofregeneration

Packing properties of powders 2.
Kopecká, Milada ; Zatloukal, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Šklubalová, Zdeňka (referee)
In the theoretical part of the diploma theses, the structural characteristics of powders, the measurement conditions of the bulk volume were studied as well as the employment of method of autocorrelation in investigation of reproducibility of the measurements. In the experimental section, the results of repeated measurements of bulk volume of size fractions of sodium citrate and sorbitol are summarized together with values of the coefficients of autocorrelation needed for generation of the plots. The coefficients of autocorrelation were employed to validation of the measurement reproducibility of bulk volume of the free- flowable powder size fractions of the pharmaceutical excipients.

A Grammar of North West Lovari Romani
Wagner, Peter ; Hübschmannová, Milena (advisor) ; Friedová, Mirjam (referee) ; Halwachs, Dieter W (referee)
The descriptive grammar analyzes the North West variety of Lovari, i.e. the Hungarized Vlax dialect of Romani. The analysis is based upon fieldwork recordings and upon few written texts. The study presents the delimitation against related varieties and dialects, the sociolinguistic situation of the speakers, phonetics, phonology, phonetic alteration, and an overview of relevant grammatical categories. One chapter is dedicated to nominal and verbal morphology, to the use of forms, word formation and morphology of the preposition. The chapter on syntax describes non-morphological onomasiology, the structure of the noun phrase, presents frequent adverbs and modal, aspect, and discourse particles. The chapter on syntax continues with the clause structure, sentence types, the word order mechanisms, subordination and coordination. From a typological viewpoint, the language of the study is flective, employing several nominal and verbal inflectional classes, and agglutinative with respect to several morphological classes, such as case and tense marking. It is fusional in a sense, that number is cumulatively coded together with other features, with gender in nominal inflection, and with person in verbal inflection.

Protein-protein interaction mapping of cytochrome P-450 by methods using chemical modification and mass spectrometry
Ječmen, Tomáš ; Černá, Věra (referee) ; Šulc, Miroslav (advisor)
Cytochromes P-450 (P450s) belong to haemoprotein superfamily and they are responsible for metabolism of a wide variety of compounds, among others many drugs and carcinogens. P450s serve as the terminal oxidases in the mixed function oxidase system in cooperation with a redox partner NADPH: cytochrome P450 reductase (CPR) providing input of two electrons to the reaction cycle of P450. The CPR can be substituted by other redox partner of P450, cytochrome b5 (cyt b5), to deliver the second electron. Three dimensional structure of P450 is required in order to fully understand its reaction mechanism. At the present time, a homology model of cytochrome P-450 2B4 (CYP 2B4) is available in our laboratory. In this study, the mapping of interaction domain between CYP 2B4 and cyt b5 employing a crosslinking agent EDC to form amide bonds between close complementary charged amino acid side chains was the first goal. We have identified five interacting amino acid pairs in total using mass spectrometry (MS). The second research interest was to verify and refine the CYP 2B4 model using a photoaffinity labelling with N-(p-azidobenzyl)-N-methyl-p-aminophenylamine probe. This photoreactive probe is known as CYP 2B4 ligand binding to the central iron atom of haem. After photoactivation the arginine 197 was found by MS...

Ottoman state and society as reflected in rabbinic literature of the 16th-18th centuries
Rubešová, Markéta ; Šedinová, Jiřina (referee) ; Klusáková, Luďa (advisor)
History of Ottoman Jewry is far from being neglected by the modern historiography. On the contrary, one may see unceasing endeavour to deal properly with various aspects of Jewish life amidst the Ottoman society. Nevertheless, these studies vary considerably in the sense of chronology, space and approaches. While some of them focus on certain period and/or region, others wish to present a reader comprehesive synthesis. The aim of my thesis is to grasp mental world of Jewish subjects and to find out how and to what extent these subjects joined day-to-day life in the Ottoman society. For this purpose, Jews are seen as integral element of higly heterogeneous Ottoman society. The thesis is inspired by studies of Yaron Ben-Naeh, who represents the youngest generation of Israeli historians, and whose subject of research is mainly social and cultural history of Jews in the Ottoman empire from 15th to 19th century. In order to make the tensions between society and individual more "legible", we decided to employ the so-called theory of figurations, borrowed from famous sociolog Norbert Elias. The relationship between society (structure) and individual (actor) in historical process is better understood when presented in form of fluid figurations of interdependent people.

Individual chosen texts are then classify according to three criteria. Firstly, they are sorted according to the topic, which they are talking about. Secondly, texts are sorted according to sections in which we can find them in the text and finally there are mentioned journalistic genres in which textes are written and their brief description. All division precedes clarify the issue of leisure, which is essential for this work and then the relationship of media and leisure. There are indicated functions of the media and spare time too. The most common free-time activities are graphically illustrated.

Navigation System for a Mobile Robot Based on Omni-Directional Vision
Benda, Jan ; Flusser, Jan (advisor) ; Bakstein, Hynek (referee)
The thesis addresses the vast problem of mobile robot localization in the dynamic environment of a robotic contest. Method based on particle filters is developed, using only the image of a catadioptric visual sensor as its input. The advantage of this approach is an easy portability thanks to independence on other systems of the mobile robot and robustness to external influences such as robot collisions. This new method employs the composition of fast color thresholding, look-up coordinate transformation, vision-based motion prediction and Monte Carlo Localization to gain robust and reliable pose tracking using a color map of a delimited environment. Since the method uses visual data both to determine the relative motion and to verify the current location, it can cope with an unexpected events such as wheel slippage or collision.
