Rédr, Andre ; Bílý, Milan (advisor) ; Lukš, Josef (referee)
Title: The Comparison of Results of Diagnostic Methods of Anaerobic Thresholds in Rowing Aims: The aim of the work is to compare the most used diagnostic methods of anaerobic thresholds on a rowing machine. Methods: This diploma thesis is a quantitative empirical research. To compare diagnostic data was used the Concept 2 rowing machine. The rowing machine was also used as an instrument for evaluation of five types of test methods for the anaerobic threshold diagnostics and the sixth control test, respectively. Exanimated functional values were determined using a HR monitor Garmin Fenix 6 and a Lactate scout lactometer. Exponential regressions in MS Excel were used to evaluate lactate curve tests. The homogeneous sample group consisted of 10 club rowers (n = 10). Results: We used basic statistical methods for data analysis, paired t-test, and correlation analysis (Pearson's correlation coefficient). Comparing the functional values of the monitored diagnostics, we found that the descending time protocol of the lactate curve was the most accurate methods of anaerobic threshold diagnostics for the control twenty-minute test. The compared functional values of other tests against the control test showed a statistically significant variation at the level of significance p ≤ 0.05. Other used methods of...

Nutrition at sports with weight categories
Žabová, Anna ; Vilikus, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Tuka, Vladimír (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on diets in sports with weight categories. The main goal is to find out about the diets of the professional athletes before the official weighting, what methods of weight reduction these athletes use and whether they experience any negative effects of the diet on their health. Theoretical part focuses on the information about weight categories, nutrition recommendations for particular athletes, forms of weight reduction and human body composition analysis. The practical part is divided into two researches. The first research is carried out in the form of a quantitative questionnaire, in which the respondents provide information on dietary habits and their presence in the weight category. The second research focuses on five light-weight rowers, whose body composition information is compared in the non-competitive and competitive period. The questionnaire has been filled in by 103 competitors from 9 different sports with weight categories. Some outputs are quite worrying, or even alarming. Only less than one third of the respondents races in their category without major weight fluctuations or greater dietary restrictions. Comparing the data from both measurements of the body composition of the athlete (out of season and before the race) turned out as expected with only...

Impact of inspiratory muscle training on the cardiopulmonary system of elite rowers.
Procházková, Sára ; Procházka, Michal (advisor) ; Smolíková, Libuše (referee)
This thesis focuses on the physiological and biomechanical relation between rowing and function of the respiratory system. The theoretical part summarizes various possibilities of using the inspiratory muscle training, primarily on accessible information about its use during elite rowers preparation. The thesis contains three case studies of elite female rowers who followed the inspiratory muscle training according to Volianitis's et al. methodology from 2001. Changes in performance of simulated rowing race and in PImax were monitored. Despite the insufficient compliance of prescribed training, we see an improvement of the observed parameters.

Title: Kinesiological Analysis of the Rowing Stroke. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to obtain, to analyse and process received data about the activity and involvement of the selected measured muscles, working throughout one cycle of the rowing stroke - in the course of the drive phase and during the recovery part of the stroke as well. Methods: The work is processed by a kinesiological analysis of selected movement of the rowing stroke, based on the determination of muscle activation. Electromyography method was synchronized with the video recording. Results: Based on the sequences of the muscle activation was described their order and sequence in the actual shot of the rowing stroke (drive phase and recovery). We have proved that in the rigorous technical performance are always activated the same muscles in the exactly same order. Individual deviations from the correct technique in measuring appeared and thus enable their correction. Keywords: Electromyography, rowing, muscles, stroke.
