The Bodybuilding Movement and Revolution: The Social History of Physicality in Czechoslovakia

The thesis tries to process a topic of bodybuilding phenomenon in the wider context of the ideal body formation in modern age. Bodybuilding is understood as a specific socio-cultural phenomenon closely tied to a modern society and its historical development. Beyond the bodybuilding the work also deals with an analysis of the contemporary social body theory with focus on the domestic discourse and subsequently also with an analysis of discursive formation modern physicality from the Enlightenment till the 20th century. The main focus is put on the understanding of changes characteristic for the modern society in context of the modernisation project continuity. The objective is to describe a history of bodybuilding within the outlined process of modernization, as well as to compare various alternative conception of the ideal of physicality in the "Fordism Modernity", where a special attention is focused on the analysis of bio political discourse in Communist dictatorship. The remaining part processes a historical development of the bodybuilding movement in Czechoslovakia, where the main emphasis is put on placing the Czechoslovakia bodybuilding into the postulated concept, including individual historical events. Transformatıon of Pera into Cultural District of Istanbul in the second half of the 19th Century

The second half of the 19th Century was a remarkable period in the history of the transformation of Istanbul's Pera district, which can also be detected in the history of its western type theatre buildings, passages, cultural activities, district regulations, planning and establishment of other public and private spaces. The scope of the study will focus on the period between the announcement of the Edict of Gulhane (1839) till Second Constitutional Era (1908). I have chosen the Pera district, also known as Beyoğlu/Taksim for this case study, because it had quite specific functions in the city. It had hosted various ethnical groups throughout its long history, which was also the case in the middle of the 19th century, and the cultural harmony influenced the district's social life. I intend to test this hypothesis by applying Charles Landry's creativity city concept with Pera's cultural district at the end of the thesis. I will apply the aforementioned concepts and examine the remarkable modern type constructions of the district and their history. I will show that gradual growth of the amount and intensity of interactions between the West and the Ottoman Society created a cultural infrastructure, which in turn created a cosmopolitan area in Pera. The Role of the Duli pinglun Magazine in the Chinese Medicine Controversies

This Master's thesis focuses on the discussion about Chinese and Western Medicine in the Duli pinglun Magazine (獨立評論) in the year of 1934. Its main purpose is to introduce the lines of reasoning of its participants. The thesis introduces general historical and philosophical background crucial for the formation of the discussion about Chinese and Wester Medicine in 1930s. It describes the situation of Chinese medicine in China from the late imperial period to so called Nanjing Decade (1928-1937). It describes the discussion in the context of the intellectual discussion about social Darwinism, national essence, cultural iconoclasm and science and scientism. It introduces selected basic characteristics of Chinese Medicine crucial for the understanding of this discussion. The main actor of the discussion, Fu Sinian 傅斯年 (1896-1950), and the Duli pinglun Magazine itself are introduced here. The thesis focuses also on the first phase of the discussion, which was held in the Da gongbao Magazine 大公報. Main intellectual tendencies of the discussion about Chinese and Wester Medicine during this period were revealed through the analysis of the discussion. Proposal for the Modifications of the Marketing Mix of Family Business

The bachelor thesis focuses on describing the reality of the tracked family business, finding, defining and formulating the mistakes and shortcomings, which are happening during the practice, and revealing its weaknesses. It presents the craft of upholstery as a specific area and an unusual subject of business, it shows its complexity and “unclassifiability”, and the impact of this uniqueness on its prosperity. The reality is (where appropriate) compared with the obtained theoretical knowledge. The thesis involves identification of the problems and it proposes their solutions, in order to achieve the revitalisation and innovation of the monitored enterprise.
Design of Modernization of Čadca Railway Station

The master´s thesis deals with a design of modernization of Čadca railway station. Content of the thesis is the design of reconstruction of station heads, increasing the speed in the main tracks to 140 km/h, removal of level crossings for passengers at platforms access and the width adjustment arrangement of the platforms for the safe movement of people with reduced mobility.

Furthermore to evaluate the sources of funding individual components of assets and quantify the impacts of the extensity of the long-term assets on the economic results of the company.
