Debugging Information in Linker
Nikl, Vojtěch ; Křoustek, Jakub (referee) ; Masařík, Karel (advisor)
This thesis describes the conversion between the CCOFF object file format and the ELF file format. We start with a general object file format and its debbuging information, then we focus closely on the ELF, CCOFF and DWARF debugging information. The functionality of the CCOFF format is encapsulated in the ObjectFile class library. Then follows the description of creating an ELF object file, its filling with the proper data and its conversion back to the CCOFF format.
Tools for Executable File Format Conversions
Matula, Peter ; Husár, Adam (referee) ; Hruška, Tomáš (advisor)
This paper describes methods and procedures used for object file format conversions. It introduces several commonly used formats (ELF, PE, E32Image, DEX) and project Lissom's object file format (LOFF). It contains basic information about libraries manipulating these formats and a description of a new library managing E32Image. The primary objective is to implement a program converting files between common formats and LOFF. This problem is solved by mapping all critical information from one format structures to another. To accomplish this task, it was necessary to modify and extend some features of Lissom object format. The result is the plugin based application capable of creating valid and runnable executable files in mentioned formats.
Graphical Viewer and Simple Editor of ELF File
Omacht, Martin ; Martiško, Jakub (referee) ; Křivka, Zbyněk (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to create an application with graphical user interface that provides graphical overview of internal structure for binary files in ELF format while also allowing simple editing. The application handles corrupted files and supports Windows and Linux operating systems. It is implemented in C++ with graphical interface created using Qt library. To picture the internal structure of the given ELF file, a custom diagram was designed and implemented.
Digital Steganography for Executables
Tobiáš, Pavel ; Bidlo, Michal (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis concerns itself with steganographic concealment of arbitrary data in executable files . Initially it speaks in general terms , mainly about injection - and substitution - based steganographic methods for various types of cover - objects . Afterwards , the focus is on executable files in the ELF format and the x86 ISA family ; permutation - based methods for instructions and basic block chains are mentioned and the substitution - based method of instruction equivalence classes is examined . Consequently , the design, implementation , testing and optimization of a custom solution based on the last mentioned method are described . Finally , the methods and outcomes of experimenting with the custom solution are described .
Graphical Viewer and Simple Editor of ELF File
Veškrna, Tomáš ; Martiško, Jakub (referee) ; Křivka, Zbyněk (advisor)
This thesis specify, design and develop graphial viewer and editor of ELF binary files. The goal of this thesis is to provide easier manipulation with ELF files, although they were corrupted by wrong editing. The final software must be multiplatform, so Qt library is used for the implementation of its graphical user interface. For manipulation with ELF files is uses elf.h library. The application is implemented in C++. The realized tool can be used on both Linux operation system and Microsoft Windows.
Generation of Object Files for RISC-V
Benna, Filip ; Zachariášová, Marcela (referee) ; Hruška, Tomáš (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the topic of program source code compilation for RISC-V processor architecture. The generated object files need to be compatible with GNU binutils open source tools which are already available for the architecture. The focus is on relocations which must be correctly detected in Codasip Studio tools and transformed into RISC-V platform specific relocation types.
Learner goals and attitudes to mistakes from an ELT and ELF perspective
Dunková, Jiřina ; Quinn Novotná, Veronika (advisor) ; Gráf, Tomáš (referee)
The present research focuses on students' attitudes and preferences towards English language learning at Czech private language schools. In essence, the thesis focuses on unearthing the relationship and attitudes of students towards language mistakes, goals, and creativity. The study approaches language learning from more and less norm-bound perspectives and the English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) paradigm is introduced. In connection with the main focus of the research the intention is also to detect tendencies that could hint at the suitability of integrating knowledge about ELF into English Language Teaching (ELT). To obtain original data from the selected target group I conducted a mixed-method research (a questionnaire survey and in-class observations). The key concepts discussed are: mistakes, learner goals, learner needs, accuracy and language creativity (or 'languaging'). Key words: EFL, ELF, learner goals, accuracy, language creativity, languaging.
Mistakes: curse or blessing? The ELF perspective
Dunková, Jiřina ; Quinn Novotná, Veronika (advisor) ; Gráf, Tomáš (referee)
The present research focuses on students' attitudes and preferences towards English language learning at Czech private language schools. The study approaches language learning from two perspectives, the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) paradigm and the English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) paradigm. The key concepts discussed are: mistakes, re-labelled modifications, learner goals, learner needs, language models, accuracy and language creativity (or 'languaging'). Key words: EFL, ELF, learner goals, language models, accuracy, language creativity, languaging
Folk religion in Scandinavia. Dwarf, giant and elf in changes
Jiráková, Anežka ; Šalanda, Bohuslav (advisor) ; Sochorová, Ludmila (referee)
Anežka Jiráková Folk Religion in Scandinavia Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Arts, 2011 Abstract The bachelor thesis called Folk Religion in Scandinavia with the subtitle Dwarf, Giant and Elf in Changes is focused on the development of three supernatural beings - dwarf, giant and elf. More theoretical first part is focused on the analysis of spoken and written word and its application on the scandinavian mythology. The main topic is the characterization of development and changes of dwarf, giant and elf from the earliest surviving references to the present. The emphasis on the etymology of words is seen throughout of this text. The thesis includes research conducted among four danish respondents. One of the questionnaries is included in the text, as well as the part with pictures.
Library for Efficient Video Capture in 3D Application
Pospíšil, Petr ; Navrátil, Jan (referee) ; Havel, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with library for recording video in the background of 3D application. A library is designed to work under the Microsoft Windows and Linux operation systems.  It records image and also sound. Image recording is supported in OpenGL, Direct3D9, Direct3D10 and Direct3D11. To reduce video data size, library supports image compression using MJPG codec. Audio is recorded by WaveForm audio, Windows Core Audio or ALSA. Recorded sound is for whole operation system. A library is able to record up to two audio streams to accommodate possible microphone input. It can mix audio data together if needed. Output data are then written into AVI file. It is possible to write own text information as overlay that is rendered as part of application screen output.
