Geography teaching in alternative schools

This bachelor thesis presents the theme of geography teaching in alternative schools. The first part of the thesis contains theoretical bases, methodology, introduces with the aim of the thesis and presents specific schools, which were chosen. There are Montessori schools, Waldorfs schools and Step by Step schools. In the practical part, there is described qualitative research activities, that was carried out in schools like a method of participating observation on geography lessons, a method of semi-structured interviews with geography teachers and a method of focus groups of students. Cooperation of Family and School at the Beginning of School Attendance

The diploma thesis deals with cooperation between family and school at the beginning of the education. The theoretical part is focused on the family and the school such as an educational institution. It describes a fixing cooperation between family and school in the obligatory documents for the education and represents principles and possible limits. It also deals with an expectaion and parent's and teacher's worries. It represents programmes and initiatives be supported to cooperation with school with family for example "Rodiče vítáni" and "Začít spolu". The empiric part deals with research, which watches a particular forms of cooperation the school with parents on the particular secondary school, mainly on the first school. The research is created by questionnaire, an interview and an observation.
Forms of Family and School Cooperation at the Beginning of School Attandance

This thesis focuses on forms of cooperation between family and school at the beginning of school attendance. The theoretical part defines family and school as educational institutions and traces the development of cooperation between these institutions. It shows current trends in cooperation between family and school using the elements of a strategy of innovative educational program Step by Step and project Parents welcome. It refers to the elements that affect mutual relations. At the beginning of the empirical part is first described the methodology of qualitative research. The main techniques used were observation, questioning and interviews with teaching staff and the parents of pupils at two schools - at the average primary school and at the school using the program Start together, which received a certificate Parents welcome. Partner reality was analyzed on the basis of a document Competent teacher of the 21st century: An international professional quality framework ISSA. The research identified the actual situation in each school, its benefits and weaknesses. Personality and social education and its influence on the classroom climate

This work is focused on the topic of school class climate and its enhancement by the methods of personality and social education in a concrete class where the author is working as a teacher. The theoretical part is dedicated to the class climate and its characteristics. It describes what influences, by which methods it can be investigated and what can it be influenced by. In the practical part the author uses the methods of the teacher's active research to investigate the climate in her own class and also self-reflexively examines herself from the view of the beginning teacher. During the time period of one school year continually monitors the climate in her class and states the most effective ways towards improvement. The results of the research show that the methods of personality and social education have an influence to the class climate if they are used in a natural and casual manner. Cooperation between parents and school at the beginning of school attendance

This diploma thesis deals with cooperation between family and school at the beginning of school attendance. Position of that subject in Czech education system is clarified in the theoretical part, as well as some educational programs and initiatives focusing on this domain of a teacher's work. The practical part presents action research, which is focused on the reflection of my own work experience. It explores possibilities of specific methods and forms of cooperation of class teacher with parents according to an analysis of effectiveness of cooperation between family and school evaluation tool of "Competent Educators of the 21st Century: ISSA's Definition of Quality Pedagogy". This research confirmed that the parents welcome any offer to closer involment in school education and choose the kind of cooperation that best suits their needs and abilities. Co-operation between school and family

The dissertation deals with the forms of cooperation between family and kindergarten. The theoretical part characterizes the preschool child. It discribes each area of preschool children′s evolution? It maps the possibilities of cooperation between schools and kindergartens in the curriculum documents and others educational documents. Also it characterizes forms of cooperation in the education program Step by Step. It defines the concepts of proffesional and personal this findding on the Franework educational program for preschool education. The research examines the fulfillment of theindicators set out in the document named Competent Educator of the 21 st Century: ISSA s Definition of Quality Pedagogy, i tis inclusion in preschool education in program Step by Step, Kindergarten Kadaň. It describes the aktivity based on research, which was held in collaboration with the family in Preschool Šafaříkova louny. The Author of this dissertation worked in this kindergarten for several years.

COOPERATION OF FAMILY AND SMALL SCHOOL WITH COMPOSITE CLASSES The thesis deals with the cooperation of family and small school with composite classes. The theoretical section deals with the typology and changes in family, family and school partnership, ideal setting of cooperation between family and school. It examines programmes of schools with area of cooperation being developed (Step by step and Parents are welcome). It looks for starting points that might be used at home school. The research section deals with a description of a small school with composite classes, where the graduant teaches. It also examines specificities of this school, the typology of students' families and at the same time it's also mapping the cooperation between school and family according to the programme Parents are welcome. It's trying to find the strategies for improving the cooperation with family. This is followed by the assessment from the viewpoints of author, parents, colleagues and a conclusions.
Communication between teacher and parents of his pupils

The thesis deals with the communication of class teacher with the parents in primary school. The current position of this topic within the Czech education system is examined. Educational programs and initiatives focusing on this area of teacher's work are studied. Specific forms of communication available to teachers are presented with their advantages and disadvantages. Four case studies and their final comparison examines teachers' approach to the selection of specific forms of communication and the formation of the overall structure of communication with parents. Case studies describe the forms of communication used by individual teachers. Sources of information about the possible forms of communication, as well as factors that influence the teachers are presented. Individual studies are evaluated in the context of the others and their common and different features are identified. The issue of training of future teachers in this area is discussed. Individual approach of teachers to this topic is observed.
Development of cooperation between family and nursery school

The theoretical part focuses on family and school as educational institutions, their definition, historical development and the related current trends in cooperation between them. It defines the forms of cooperation in the core curriculum and is looking for inspiring elements of this strategy and cooperation in innovative educational programs, "Step by Step" and "Health Promoting Schools" The empiric part presents the research that focuses on development cooperation nursery schools and families.
