Socialism is work. The life of Rudolf Bechyně 1881-1948

The present thesis discusses the life of Rudolf Bechyně, the eminent Czech Social-Democratic politician of the first half of the twentieth century. The author studies in a practically chronological order the life's path of the poli tician, start ing in Moravia (sti ll dur ing the era of the Austro-Hungarian Empire), over the period of the First Republic of Czechoslovakia, until his exile to London during the Second Wor ld War when Bechyně, a s the Chairman of the Council of State, became together wi th the President Edvard Beneš the main leader of the Czech resistance movement abroad. Wi th respect to extant archival materials, the thesi s focuses more systematically on the description of Bechyně' s work at the Ministry of Public Supply, as well as on the last decade of his life when the politician was forced to revalue most of hi s atti tudes and principles. Al though the author tends to follow the traditional biographical pattern, through the fate of Rudolf Bechyně he furthermore depicts the fate of the Czech Social Democratic Party. The origin and the development of selected specialized and scientific libraries on the territory of the Czech state until 1918

Tématem práce je shrnutí dějin vybraných odborných a vědeckých knihoven na území českého státu do roku 1918. Práce se zaměřuje na tyto knihovny: knihovnu Národního muzea, Státní technickou knihovnu v Praze, Státní vědeckou knihovnu v Olomouci, Státní vědeckou knihovnu v Brně (dnešní Moravská zemská knihovna); knihovnu Akademie věd a Veřejnou a univerzitní knihovnu v Praze. Cílem práce je deskriptivní metodou shrnout poznatky o vzniku a vývoji daných knihoven, práce se dále věnuje podmínkám, za kterých knihovny vznikaly, shrnuje poznatky o vývoji jejich fondu a o významných osobnostech, které jsou s danými knihovnami spjaty. V závěru kapitol je nastíněn vývoj jednotlivých knihoven po roce 1918.

The cooperative system for the authority records processing in the Czech Republic

Tématem práce je kooperativní systém zpracování autoritních záznamů v České republice a možnosti jeho dalšího rozvoje v kontextu mezinárodně doporučené metodiky a zkušeností ze zahraničních projektů. V úvodní části je analyzován termín "autorita". Dále práce uvádí základní aspekty mezinárodního vývoje autoritních databází, a to především z hlediska vývoje standardů a doporučení pro zpracování. Dokumentuje vývoj českého národního autoritního souboru pro jmenné i věcné záznamy od konce devadesátých let 20. století do roku 2006. Podrobně jsou hodnocena doporučení IFLA "Směrnice pro autoritní záznamy a odkazy" a konceptuální model "Funkční požadavky na autoritní záznamy". Pro identifikaci autoritního záznamu v kooperativních systémech je významným prvkem identifikátor entity a identifikační čísla záznamů, práce analyzuje několik těchto systémů. Komunikační formáty pro autoritní záznamy UNIMARC a MARC 21 jsou popisovány s ohledem na využití v českých katalozích. Práce se věnuje mezinárodním projektům (NACO, AUTHOR, LEAF) a využití jejich zkušeností v českém systému. Těžiště práce spočívá v rozboru historie, finančního zabezpečení, technického řešení a metodiky projektu "Kooperativní tvorba a využívání souboru národních autorit". Vladimír Holan is one of the most important Czech poets of the 20th century. However, his rich correspondence with plenty of significant people of Czech culture is out of broad the concern of literary scientists. The Holan's correspondence is the main deal of this diploma theses and for its purpose the student will collect, classify and prepare for potential edition a part of poet's correspondence. The selection of correspondence of Vladimír Holan, which is deposited in The Literary archive of The Museum of Czech literature in Prague, will be consisted of approximately ten letter-conversation threads between Vladimír Holan and the significant people of Czech cultural context mainly. The thesis will also include the study in which the student will try to interpret the change of Holan's period poetics by analysis of Holan's statements the convolute of the selected letter will contain.

Exhibition cycle DEATH at the National museum

The thesis focuses on a field of museum marketing, particularly on a marketing mix issue. The marketing mix is described on an example of an exhibition cycle named DEATH which took place in five object of the National museum during a period from 18 June 2014 until 31 March 2016. The DEATH was the last from a row of exhibition cycles which prevailed during the closing of the Historical building for the reason of its complex reconstruction. A descriptive analysis of the marketing mix of the DEATH exhibition cycle is conducted in the thesis. Application of marketing tools is subsequently evaluated through detailed analyses which will identify weaknesses. At the same time recommendations are developed to improve the National museums marketing mix and make it more efficient.

The cultural context of the national monument on Vítkov Hill. The problem of the artistic expression and interpretation of the values and ideas

The idea behind the National Monument was to build the statue to Jan Žižka, the legendary czech warrior, whose fight for freedom of religion was taken as the symbol for the czech nationalism in the 19s century. In the year 1882 a Society to Erect a Monument to Jan Žižka of Trocnov on the Žižka's hill was formed in a nearly restaurant. From that moment to really erection the Žižka statue was almost seventy years long period of history, filled by political and social changes, which also have marked the monument, as well as its perceiving in the public. Nowadays, the yang generation born in 80.s and growing up in freedom, do not follow the beckground ideas of this buildig and the statue is for them only a bizar piece of art work. But hier is not the comlet divide between this generation and the national history. It will be very important for the czech National Museum to work out a quality program of this buildig, because it is hier the bigest amout of potencional visitors ever - the whole Czech nation.

Adapting the methodology MMSP for development web applications in ASP.NET MVC and its usage on a real project

The subject of this thesis was agile development on ASP.NET web development platform. The main goal was to create new methodology MMSP - ASP.NET MVC by adjusting methodology MMSP for development in ASP.NET MVC framework, which was mainly achieved through the definition of new objects in the methodology. Text describes four newly created roles (eg. Database specialist) which are responsible for application development. Text also defines or modifies several tasks (eg. Database design) and work products (eg. Data model). All added objects were integrated into the methodology by adjusting its life cycle. At first, thesis was generally focused on the development of web applications, defined their characteristics and analyzed the possibilities of using agile development. Then the MMSP methodology was presented and verified its suitability for the planned extension. Furthermore, there was described the ASP.NET MVC framework, its architecture and basic characteristics. In the last chapter of this thesis methodology MMSP-ASP.NET MVC was verified on the example of development database management web application for the Anthropological Department of the National Museum in Prague.
