Application of organocatalytic approach for the synthesis of piperidine-2-ones, useful building blocks for the preparation of antidepresants
Humpl, Marek ; Jindřich, Jindřich (referee) ; Veselý, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the application of organocatalytic approach for the synthesis of enantiomerically pure substitued piperidine-2-ones from synthetically easily avaiable starting materials and commercially avaiable secondary amine. Substitued piperidine-2-ones are prepared in good yields (49-99 %) and excellent enantioselectivities (93-96 % ee). The key-intermediate in synthesis of (+)-femoxetine is prepared and the synthesis is formally finalised in the overall yield 23 % and enantiomeric excess of 95 %.

Zmítko, Milan ; Hurník, Jaromír (advisor) ; Potužák, Pavel (referee)
The subject of this diploma work is to analyze proposals of fiscal consolidations in the Czech Republic and their following implementation in the years of 2002 to 2012. This work is trying to answer a question whether these proposals of the fiscal consolidaions were elaborated in agreement with research conclusions in the given field and whether they were successful in the sense of reduction of a deficit of the public budgets and public debt. In the first part of this work recent empirical studies with the following recomendations in the terms of realization of a fiscal consolidation are presented. Subsequently, a theoretical background in the form of keynesian and, so called, non-keynesian (expansionary fiscal consolidation hypothesis) effects of consolidation on economy is discussed. In the second part of this work an analysis of the proposals and implementation of the fiscal consolidations in the Czech Republic are presented with an attention to the evolution of the public budgets deficits and the public debt dynamic. The work uses, so called, narrative approach which is based on a study of open public documents from the archives of the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic, Parliament of the Czech Republic and the Czech National Bank. In the conclusions of this analysis it is stated that not a single implemented fiscal consolidation was successful in the terms of a reduction of the public budgets deficits and the public debt.

The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to analyse available options for 3D printing using FDM technology according to requests of cooperating company, to propose several drafts of electronical and software parts of 3D printers. This also includes their connection, functionality testing and implementation of one chosen draft. The core of this Bachelor thesis was to document the progress in building the 3D printer and also to solve arisen problems. The result of this Bachelor thesis is practical realisation of electronic part of 3D printer including basical tests. Secondary benefit of this Bachelor thesis is to explain the issue of 3D printing with the option of building custom 3D printer from PiBot components.

Influence of transforming growth factor (TGF) beta 1 and endoglin on atherogenesis.
Šumberová, Kateřina ; Nachtigal, Petr (referee) ; Kudláčková, Zděnka (advisor)
Author: Kateřina Šumberová Title of diploma thesis: Význam transformujícího růstového faktoru beta 1 a endoglinu v aterogenezi Diplomová práce Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Field: Pharmacy Abstract Background: Objective of this diploma thesis is background research using available knowledge about atherosclerosis, TGF - β1 (Transforming growth factor - β1) and endoglin and about their roles in atherogenesis. Main findings: TGF - β1 promotes atherosclerotic plaque stability, acts as antiinflammatory agent and prevents from development and progression of atherosclerosis. However, at the same time TGF - β1 restricts endothelial regeneration, lowers production of vasodilators whereas TGF - β1 promotes production of vasoconstrictors in blood vessel wall. TGF - β1 supports initiation and progression of hypertension contributing to more progressive atherogenesis. Endoglin is a transmembrane protein, a component of the TGF - β receptor komplex and modulates its signalisation. According to recent studies is considered antiatherogenic action of endoglin to blood-vessel endothelium. Conclusions: These results demonstrate that the role of TGF - β1 and endoglin in atherogenesis remains still unclear. Further investigation is neccesary for determination of exact mechanisms and roles of...

Injuries in Seniors and the Possibilities of their Prevention
Eklová, Pavla ; Čelko, Alexander (advisor)
The topic of my thesis "Accidents seniors and Prevention" I chose, because I know from experience that this is a very important and current issues. Injuries in this age group are common and may have for the elderly, as well as for its surroundings and caregivers, severe consequences in the form of sudden loss of significant limitations to its sovereignty and quality of life. Is not without significance or economic aspect. many such injuries could yet could be easily avoided if they had been given sufficient attention to the possibilities of their prevention. To fix the "awareness" of these options would help my work. In this work I tried to put the available resources together the most comprehensive view of this issue, including some concrete examples of the mentioned seemed appropriate. Statistical data for this work comes from the official outputs of the Czech Statistical Office, Department of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic and the World Health Organization

Progress in pharmacotherapy of parkinsonism
Tahovský, Tomáš ; Melicharová, Ludmila (referee) ; Trejtnar, František (advisor)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of pharmacology and toxicology Candidate: Tomáš Tahovský Supervisor: Doc. PharmDr. František Trejtnar, CSc. Title of diploma thesis: Progresses in pharmacotherapy of parkinsonism During the last few decades, there has been a remarkable progress in our understanding of the biology of Parkinson's disease (PD), which has been translated into the development of numerous antiparkinsonian drugs. There are different therapeutic strategies for patients in an early stage versus patients in a late stage of the disease. The current therapeutic arsenal includes levodopa preparations, MAO-B inhibitors, dopamine agonists, COMT inhibitors and several other compounds that target non- dopaminergic systems. Much interest is focused on the potential neuroprotective effect of the already available drugs, as well as on new research approaches for the development of disease-modifying agents. These include mainly antiglutamategic compounds, antiapoptotic and antioxidative agents. Future pharmacotherapy might include targeted delivery of genes involved in the pathogenesis of the disease.

Relationships among interested parties in the context of IS/ICT project management
Dokoupil, Otakar ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Ženatý, Petr (referee)
The thesis is focused on project management of IS/ICT projects, more specifically on the area concerning relationships among parties involved in IS/ICT project. The thesis presents two main contributions to the area of IS/ICT project management. Firstly, the thesis provides systematic order of available information in the area of relationships, and hence enables easy orientation in the area. This contribution is achieved via analysis of information contained in project management methodologies, IT Governance/IT Management standards, ISO standards, legislation and continual process improvement concept. Such analysis is followed by synthesis resulting in conceptual model of relationships among parties involved in IS/ICT projects. Secondly, the thesis provides recommendations that prevent potential problems to arise in the area of relationships among parties involved in IS/ICT projects. This contribution is achieved via application of conceptual model in the environment of real IS/ICT project, and consequent derivation of knowledge originating from problems of this project.
