A roma child in foster care of a family belonging to majoritarian society
Zahradníková, Šárka ; Kremličková, Marta (referee) ; Lorenzová, Jitka (advisor)
The thesis presents the results of qualitative research conducted in foster families raising Roma children. The data obtained during unstructured interviews was analyzed using both what is called a simple and a narrative analysis. The results of the simple and the narrative analysis are presented to show the effects of raising a Roma child on these white families. The results suggest that the life of such families is affected by racism in the society while the characteristics described as typical for the Romas do not influence the family life more than other individual characteristics of the children. Furthermore, the process of how children in care become adults is described. The major factors which influence the process are: a complicated search for identity, handicaps gained by the children in their past and their low self-esteem. It takes longer than is normally expected for these children to become stable and mature - often until they are between 25 and 30 years old. Separation, which is the most important part of this process, is painful both for the children and for their families. The foster parents usually adopt either positive or negative views according to the outcomes of this process. In the latter case, the foster parents learn to cope with the negative feelings by realizing that it is only the...

Metamorphosis of the feminine body in the contemporary French literature
Grochol, Jana ; Jamek, Václav (referee) ; Voldřichová - Beránková, Eva (advisor)
The present study focuses on the problematics of perception of the bodily image as it appears in a women-written corpus. The theme of the metamorphosing female body has been investigated in three contemporary French novels : Biographie de Za faim by Amélie Nothomb, Truismes by Marie Darrieussecq and Rosie Carpe by Marie NDiaye. All written by female authors around the same age, these novels report on what it is like being a woman in a postmodern world. The female heroes are confronted with their own bodily self and the long-standing tradition of a male-dominated society. These testimonies, that comprise traumatising bodily experiences and difficult relationships with others, contribute to forge the feminine identity. The three female protagonists of the investigated corpus embark on an identity quest. They struggle against the established order to find their place in the society. Nothomb's narrator thematizes the difficult passage from a child to an adult body which imposes the body /mind separation on women. She perceives this transformation as a traumatizing experience of loss and denies it by confining her body. In a revulsion towards the adult female body anorexia is an attempt to defeat abjection. The hero of Truismes, on the other hand, constitutes an incarnation of the abject body. Providing a...

Ilosvaiová, Katarína ; Patěk, Daniel (advisor) ; Slováková, Zuzana (referee)
69 RESUME This thesis is focused on the analysis of legal aspects of Internet domain names related to unfair competition. Domain names are the user-friendly form of Internet addresses. While designed to serve the function of enabling users to locate internet material in an easy manner, domain names have acquired a further significance as business identifiers and, as such, have come into conflict with the system of business identifiers that existed before the arrival of the Internet. 1. Most of these conflicts are brought about by specific unfair behaviour between competitors on the Internet, based on speculative registration and use of domain names, called cybersquatting. So far, no definition has been broadly accepted, but we can indicate its basic attributes: - The domain name is identical or confusingly similar to another sign (trademark, business name or symbol) in which someone else has rights - The registrant has no rights or legitimate interests in respect of the domain name - The domain name was registered or was being used in bad faith It is possible to distinguish a few forms of cybersquatting: Basic cybersquatting, Domain grabbing, Domain tasting, Domain parking, Typosquatting, etc. Most countries (Czech republic included), however, do not create special acts in order to regulate this new...

The Ostrogoths and the idea of "renovatio of imperii" in the reign of Justinian I
Adamčík, Petr ; Suchánek, Drahomír (referee) ; Picková, Dana (advisor)
The Goths were among the biggest and most important Germanic tribes of the Migration Period. Thanks to their number and combativeness they were able to maintain their unity in two large groups that later formed empires - Visigoth and Ostrogoth. Ostrogoths established themselves as a new large tribe at the time of their sojourn in Pannonia, where they were dominated by the Huns, but because of their advancement and large population they managed to become the co-rulers of the Hun Empire. The second half of the 5th century was decisive for the formation of Ostrogoths' new ethnic territory because Attila's death and the ensuing disintegration of the Hun Empire allowed a single ruler, Thiudimir, succeeded by his son Theodoric the Great, to concentrate control over three Goth groups in his hands. In the 490s Italy was conquered by Ostrogoths, who founded a barbarian kingdom there. The Ostrogothic kingdom became a major political power in the western Mediterranean. Its ruler Theodoric took over the system of govemment and the religious tolerance ofthe defeated Germanic ruler Odoacer. At the end of Theodoric the Greať s rule no power factor in Europe could jeopardize the Gothic Empire surrounded by a system of vassal states. However, Theodoric's successors permitted a disintegration of these links and allowed...

Business valuation Ltd. Unity, consumer cooperative in Nymburk
Nepimach, Jan ; Mařík, Miloš (advisor) ; Popela, Jan (referee)
The above thesis topic I chose for two reasons. The first reason was that I had as a secondary specialization in Business Valuation chosen course of study in this specialization. I met with the subject in Practical Business Valuation. In this course, I participated in valuation process Consumer Unity in Jindrichuv Hradec. Because at my residence located Consumer Unity in Nymburk, whose stores I visit from time to time, I wonder if it is appropriate to evaluate the company using the income approach (or under what conditions) and what is the value of the company. Therefore, the objective of this thesis I have provided to determine the market value of unity, consumer cooperative in Nymburk. The second reason why I chose the topic of "valuation" as a whole is the fact that my favorite literary genres include detective novels. With a little imagination it can be said that the search for business value is similar or even identical to the above literary genre. When first we see business, we know about him very little, but we suspect that it certainly has some value. In the case of murder, we see the body, but do not know the offender. Over time composing pieces together and connect us with each connection, and finally ideally we will see a clear picture and find out who is the perpetrator, even if the culprit was the victim. If we are looking for enterprise value, this is a similar case. Gradually, as we proceed through financial, strategic analysis, the value of generators, the financial plan to the final valuation, we find that the company is healthy, if it is a competitive, what is the prognosis for the future, when we are at the end of the quest unable to determine its value. Proper "thriller" should consist of five components. From the introduction plot, climax, and denouement of the conclusion. Therefore, the thesis is divided into five parts. The first part consists of basic information about the company, where he briefly introduce the valuated company. Followed by a financial analysis that tells us what threats or vice versa opportunities deriving from the financial statements of the company and answer the question of whether the company is financially able to continue to operate. Another part of the work is strategic analysis to assess the position on a particular market and answers the question of how they will develop sales and market share of the business in the future. Subsequently generators predict values and use them to create a financial plan that will serve as an important basis for the final valuation Unity, consumer cooperative in Nymburk. In my work I used the experience and information on the issue of consumer cooperatives and food retail Practical lessons in the subject of business valuation studies in developing team.

The use of caffeine among pupils at second grade of elementary school in Vodnany.
ŠMIDMAJEROVÁ, Edita
This bachelor thesis deals with the consumption of caffeinated beverages by pupils of a secondary school in Vodňany (Czech Republic). Nowadays, the overconsumption of beverages containing caffeine is becoming a big problem among pupils. I chose this topic to find out how many pupils of a regular secondary school drink beverages containing caffeine. This work consists of both a practical as well as a theoretical part. The theoretical part consists of three main chapters. The first part describes the subject, caffeine, the effects caffeine has on the human body as well as caffeine addiction. In the second chapter I investigate products containing caffeine, their ingredients and effects on the human body. The third chapter focuses on the consumption of caffeinated beverages by teenagers. In this chapter I describe the term teenager, their eating habits and explore whether these are appropriate or not. Furthermore, I present studies focused on caffeine consumption based on the age range of the consumers, from toddlers up to the age of thirteen. In the practical part I set two goals. The first is to determine how many pupils of the investigated secondary school drink caffeinated beverages. My second goal is to determine at which occasions they drink these drinks. Furthermore, I establish two research questions and two hypotheses. My first hypothesis assumes that female pupils of the secondary school in question drink in general more caffeinated beverages than male pupils. However, based on the evaluation of the obtained data I found out, that the female pupils do not consume more caffenated drinks than male pupils. My second hypothesis assumes that pupils drink caffeinated beverages more often during the week than on the weekend. But even this hypothesis was not confirmed, as the survey shows that pupils do not consume caffenited drinks more often on weekdays than weekend. Both hypotheses were statistically evaluated using the Excel chi-square test. The working method is described in the practical part. The practical part was carried out using quantitative research methods, i.e. a survey. The survey was anonymous and the questionnaire was for both genders identical. It consisted of 16 questions that focused on the consumption of beverages containing caffeine. The survey consisted of closed, half-closed as well as opened questions. The data were collected at the mentioned secondary school in Vodňany. The questionnaire was given to pupils of the 7th, 8th and 9th grade, aged between 12 and 15 years. In total, 80 questionnaires were distributed among the pupils; the return rate was 100%, as they were distributed duringclass while a teacher was present. The analysis of the questionnaires gave the following results: the most favourite caffeinated beverage among students is coke. The biggest proportion of pupils drinks as much as 0.5 liters per day of coke. The most popular brands of caffeinated beverages are Coca-Cola, Kofola, Monster and Red Bull. Pupils mostlyconsume caffeinated drinks on the weekend with friends or family. My work could be used as a source of information for the general public, or as a basis for further studies of students who are dealing with the issue of caffeine.
