The attitude of Czech republic to chinese-tibetan relations according to newspaper MFDnes
Blažiová, Lucia ; Macků, Lucie (advisor) ; Lysoněk, Tomáš (referee)
Bachelor thesis The attitude of Czech Republic to Chinese- Tibetan relations according to newspaper MF DNES concerns a content analysis of the position of different actors towards China and Tibet on the MF DNES pages in years 2008 and 2014. Using content analysis we obtained differences between those years. In 2008 MF DNES focused on the relations to Tibet - most frequently on topics of human rights violations and cultural and religion freedom of Tibetan people. In contrast, in 2014 MF DNES was focusing on new Chinese - Czech relations based on economic collaboration. From there follows the contrast between media picture of both years relating to the topic - human rights versus economic interests. Another result is over-representation of the attitude of political actors comparing with other kind of actors. MF DNES confirms the stereotype that right-wing parties hold Tibetan position, meanwhile left-wing parties hold Chinese position.
