Development of Children's Musical Creativity in Primary School in Classrooms with the Step by Step Program

This diploma thesis deals with a children's musical creativity development at primary school with the Step-by-step program. The thesis introduces an overview of the current topics in alternative education, reveals main ideas of the Step by step program and describes a creativity in general with focus on the area of musical creativity and its development. The main goal of this thesis was to analyze usage of activities stimulating musical creativity development in normal classes at primary school and compare the results with the classes where the Step by step program is in use.
Development of reading literacy in selected alternative educational programs

This Master's thesis examines options to advance reading literacy in schools with alternative education. Thesis is focused on teachers work and used methods. The aim of the thesis was to determine, how schools using alternative educational programs support the reading literacy. Theoretical part explores reading literacy, characteristics of alternative educational programs and schools -Montessori, Waldorf, Dalton and program Step by Step. It specifies RWCT - reading and writing to critical thinking program and method of advancement reading literacy and reading. The practical part evaluates surveys filled by teachers from alternative schools and teachers using alternative educational programs. Survey is focused on teacher's job, utilization of RWCT method in schools, working with reading literacy and support of reading.
Cooperation and engagement of pupils in centres of activities in the Step by Step program

HAVLÍKOVÁ, Andrea. Cooperation and engagement of pupils in centres of activities in the Step by Step program. [Diploma Thesis]. Charles University in Prague. Prague : 2019. 107 pages. The aim of the thesis was to theoretically elaborate and practically solve the problems of cooperation and involvement of pupils in the centres of activities within the Step by Step program. Several methods were used to process this thesis. In the theoretical part, an overview of relevant information related to the topic was carried out on the basis of a search and by using a description method. The practical part was based on action research, which was carried out in the class of the author. The research was carried out as an unstructured observation and experiment, the outcomes were in the form of reflections. Based on reflections the centres of activities in the monitored class were improved, especially in the area of pupils' involvement and cooperation. Improved centres of activities based on the reflection of the original centres of activities have certainly led to improvements in the involvement and cooperation of pupils in the studied classroom. Developing reading literacy in Step by Step education programme through the morning letter.

The Master's Thesis with the title Developing reading literacy in Step by Step education programme through the morning letter deals with the method of morning letter and its meaning for the development od the reading literacy and key competences. The theoretical part introduces the transformation of the Czech educational system since 1989. The key competences system is also introduced. The reading literacy, educational systém Step by Step and method of monrning letter is also introduced. In the practical part, 20 morning letters are analysed and then methodical approaches and tools how to use the morning letter are described.
Pre-writing and Pre-reading Developmental Skills in Preschools with the "Step by Step" Programme and a Traditional Preschool Programme

This diploma thesis is focused on discovering pre-writing and pre-reading developmental skills in preschools with the "Step by Step" programme and a traditional preschool programme. The theoretical part is focused on explaining school maturity and school readiness, analysing pre-writing and pre-reading skills, analysing Framework Education Programme for Preschools within the frame of these skills and introduction of working principals in preschools with a "Step by Step" programme. The aim of the practical part of this diploma thesis was to discover the preschool children's level of pre-writing and pre-reading developmental skills with the "Step by Step" programme in comparison with a traditional preschool programme. Data were collected by using a mixed method research design: a questionnaire, an observation, worksheets and didactic games were used. One hundred and eight children participated in this research in September 2018. The research was repeated in May 2019 with participation of one hundred and five children. Eleven teachers filled up the questionnaire. The research results shown that the children from preschools with "Step by Step" gained better results overall when filling worksheets in comparison with the children from preschools following the traditional preschool programme in September...
The Stories of Podblanicko in the Preschool Education

The content of my bachelor´s thesis is the theoretical and follow-up practical adaptation of the tales of Podblanicko region in a preschool education. In the introduction of my thesis I will shortly introduce you to the essential moments of the Blaník region´s countryside history, but primarily the oral events and characteristics of the village Louňovice pod Blaníkem, which immediately concern chosen topic. Understanding the wider context of this region is necessary for effective and high-quality work with children. Environmental education in the kindergarten is essential and initial in the countryside of the protected area Blaník. It is an everyday part of the life of all local citizens and children. For the life here to be well-rounded, meaningful and culturally advanced, it is necessary to attract an interest in children from an early age and create a healthy relationship to this place. The knowledges and values, which are acquired by the children, are based on their own experiences with the local culture and biotopes. When working with children I bulit on what they already know, what is natural to them, and only then I try to connect with all, even the individuals of this group by learning of experience and adventure pedagogy. The motivation of children to various activities always corresponds with both the traditions of the local cultural society and the tales themselves. The goal of the education of a preschool children is learning the values important for this region. I guide children to their own responsibility of their action considering the countryside or particular biotopes, but also the togetherness with the surrounding. During some educational activities the cooperation with the local societies, associations and organizations is necessary and this is how the non-violent and natural connection of the mentioned organizations and the life in school is going on. The healthy community of people of different age groups and different interests forms this way. They all have one common goal, that is to keep and preserve the local beautiful nature and cultural wealth for the next generations.
Morning letter as a tool for promoting reading and literacy

This Master's Thesis deals with the Morning Letter from the program Step by Step as a possible tool for developing reading literacy. The theoretical part deals with the definition of reading literacy, the individual components and its anchoring in the Framework Education Program for Elementary Education. Thesis compares the key competences set out in the Framework Education Program for Elementary Education with reading literacy and explains their relationship and the importance of their equal development. It also describes one of the key program in this area, the program Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking, and its methods of developing reading literacy. It also deals with program Step by Step and the development of reading literacy as its component. Thesis focuses mainly on the Morning Letter as a possible reading strategy. The practical part is based on observations and interviews with teachers from the program Step by Step and their experience with Morning Letters and which forms of them are confirmed to be useful and how is perceived its overlap in reading literacy. It also includes a set of Morning Letters applied in mainstream class and their analysis and reflection in terms of reading literacy. Cooperation between school and family as the foundation of efektive partnership

The thesis deals with the theoretical part to highlight the importance of cooperation between schools and families in terms of children, from the perspective of families and teachers and schools. Furthermore, the work deals with a survey to improve relations between the school and parents in our elementary school. Determines whether the five years that we establish a closer cooperation with parents to improve the perception of the school community and neighborhood residents. The work focuses on empirical research of events for parents, cooperation, but also obstacles that may arise. KEYWORDS: Cooperation and partnership schools and the child's family, trust between the two sides, the benefits of cooperation, forms of cooperation, the relationship between parents and school teachers, in collaboration barriers, parents welcome the involvement of parents in the joint actions.
