The global cities relationships from social network analysis perspective

This thesis is concerned with global cities as key actors in the process of globalization. Emphasis is put on network between these cities created by their mutual relations. In three parts constituting this thesis, there are at first presented relevant theoretic aspects of global cities and their networks: definitions and rankings of global cities and then Smiths' and Timberlake's typology of flows between global cities. In the methodological part, social network analysis is presented as a dynamicaly developing methodological tool as well as fruitful perspective for description of relations between global cities. In the last part, networks of social and political flows between cities included in the AT Kearney ranking are analyzed. Centrality measures and whole network characteristics are counted for both network and subgroups are identyfied. The Diagnostic of communication in NGO

The quality of a communication in every organization is shown in a level of management and influence the relationship among co-workers. All at once has an impact to general organization habit and undermines the processes. Leaving the old concept of a management of organization, considering communication as a direction flow, leads to raise an awareness of a communication process itself as well as of its conditions. The diagnostic helps to recognize the current situation and identify the problematic processes displayed in a communication process flow. The theoretical part of this dissertation is devoted to the topic of an Organization and its development with reference to communication. This supports the empirical part of the dissertation where the diagnostic of an organization realized in non-profit market segment organization is presented. The research work is focusing on two communication layers and brings the knowledge of either a communication process or its significant aspects as of management, organizing, planning and working processes. Specifics of the extreme right in the Internet environment

The bachelor thesis "Specifics of the extreme right in the Internet environment" deals with the role of Internet in the life of the czech extreme and radical right movement. It discourses the groups which use Internet networks and forums, examining their manifestations, strategies and objectives of their activity, and the contribution of such activities in the area of virtual identity. First, the thesis defines the evolution of the Czech extreme right and also the current situation in the country. Furthermore, attention is paid to the topic of the far right on the Internet. The thesis analyses the activities of extreme right in the virtual world and its specifics in creating and maintaining a virtual identity of members of the movement. However, there is considerable space devoted to the processes of self-presentation, as well as to the structure and characteristics of communication, which play a crucial role in the process of identity formation. The subject of this graduate thesis is primarily identification of influencers on the social network Facebook, group FM VŠE. Furthermore, the thesis deal with verification of influence power of influencers and comparison with the power of less influential people at the Faculty of Management. Thanks to literature review from international environment is in the thesis described the term influencer and for the purpose of identification of influencers is there also description of the theory of social network analysis. Identification is performed by analysing of the social network Facebook and for verification of powerful of influence is used questionnaire.

The diploma thesis deals with the problem of using social networks in the field of car repair services. The primary aim is to provide the recommendations for businesses in a structured way on how to better utilize these networks to get better competitiveness. This work is divided into three parts. The first theoretical part deals with basic description of networks and their statistics. This part also covers some basic tools that we can use to analyze and maintain social network platforms. The second analytical part deals with competitive analysis in car repair services and gives an overview of the most popular Runet social network platforms. The third practical part provides structured view on all important aspects of social platform maintenance and behaviour. In this section, you can find the description of various views and the recommendations I give to the specific car repair service.
Virtual Image of the Czech Sports via Unstructured Data Analysis

Analysis of unstructured data from social media is an important and constantly growing part of information technologies' application in the marketing context. The aims of this bachelors' thesis include creating a trial platform for the analysis of un-structured data from Facebook, research and application of suitable methods and metrics for the analysis, summarizing the analysis' findings and visualisation of selected metrics by means of a dashboard. The thesis' structure corresponds to the methods used for metting the aims set and compo-ses of seven parts. The first part summarizes motives for social media analysis, deals with the approach to the topic in the contemporary scientific papers and discusses comercial tools that could be used for such analysis. The second part describes gathering of data with a crawler, setting the connection and getting the access rights to the data sources. The structure of downloaded documents and appropriate choice of data sources is also described in this part. The third part adresses the tools used for the analysis, namely Elas-ticsearch and Kibana. The fourth part defines possible questions that may be asked in the context of Czech sports image on Facebook. The fifth part identifies the metrics necessary for the questions assesment and describes corresponding data selection. The sixth part completes the analysis itself and summarizes its findnings. The seventh part describes Ki-bana's dashboard use for effective summarizing of selected metrics. The main bachelors' thesis contribution lies in the illustration of social media analysis pos-sibilities on the example of Czech sportsmen and Czech sports in general on Facebook. A crawler has been used to gather the data for the purpose of the analysis. The other em-ployed tools included Elasticsearch and Kibana, which have enabled the data selection and visualisation. The analytical approach consisted of four parts; definition of analytical que-stions, definition of methods and metrics to find answers to these questions, followed by the analysis itself and the summary of results. The following points belong to the analysis' findnings: identification of sportsman with the highest marketing potential, comparison of analysed sports according to the perceived image by fans and desgination of the pages with most interacting followers.
Competitive analysis of selected companies on the social network site Facebook

Bachelor's thesis analyzes the success of marketing strategies of two companies on the social networking site Facebook using analytical tools. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with social media, social feedback and customer engagement. Then shows the marketing possibilities of Facebook and data analysis capabilities of Facebook Insights for evaluating the success of reaching customers. The practical part of the thesis deals with the competitive analysis of Facebook pages Xbox and PlayStation. The main goal is to determine which page appeals to their fans better and why it is so.
Exploratory Social Network Analysis of Management Faculty students on social media Facebook

The aim of the bachelor thesis is the introduction of modern approaches in analysis social networks. In theoretical part there is characterized various social media used in both the Czech Republic and in the world. Additionally discussed are fundamental elements of social networking and the ability of analysis using software. In practical part are these basic approaches applied for an exploratory analysis of the social network of students of University of Economics, Faculty of Management in social media Facebook. For analysis is used SNA program Gephi. The goal of this work is to explore the social network of students of Faculty of Management on FB and to obtain potentially useful information.

In my dissertation I am interested in the management of marketing cummunication and techniques which make this communication more effective. The main topic of this thesis is the optimization of marketing communication which is discussed from the theoretical point of view at first. Then a social network analysis improving additional and complementary information to predictive models related to customers' behaviour is a part of this thesis. The analysis of social network represents an approach which is used for study of social structure and the analysis of social linkage of individuals in a form of relational data is a subject of its interest. Models of binary choice are used to estimate predictive models, the main attention is dedicated to the logistic regression, further to the logit and probit models including discussion related to the possible use of models of multinomial choice. The mentioned techniques are combined in the application part. The telecommunication market is selected for case studies because it represents a dynamically developing market opened to new and fresh technologies and approaches. Three case studies are discribed in this thesis. The first study is focused on the optimization of proactive telemarketing campaigns realized with foreign telecom operator. The second case study is focused on the optimization of reactive telemarketing campaings what means the optimization of marketing communication in call centers in czech telecom operator. The third case study relates to the important change of czech telecom market which happened in April 2013 and to the role of predictive modelling and optimization in it.
Use of social network analysis in analyzing social environment of a project manager

Diploma thesis deals with the social environment of a project manager and describes different approaches in its analysis. The social environment is defined as a sum of soft factors that affect a project manager and influence the course of the project. Besides proficiency in various project management methodologies, knowledge of the project plan, and understanding of the client's field of business, awareness of the social environment is essential for eventual project success. Thesis objectives aim at defining the scope of the social environment, and presenting analysis techniques and methods, through which it is possible to enhance overall project performance. Other objectives include stating recommendations for project managers to fully comprehend their social environment, and documenting discussed findings on project related case studies -- among others also on the social networks analysis conducted in a real life project environment. The thesis describes three analysis methods -- social network analysis, stakeholder analysis, and analysis of psychological profile of the team members, which mutually complement each other and provide project managers with a comprehensive overview of their social environments. Social network analysis is elaborated on the most in detail, because it forms theoretical as well as practical introduction to the topic, and a base for further analyses.
