Development of Public Policy Study in Europe : Czech Study of Public Policy in European Context (Comparing the Cases of France, Germany and the Czech Republic) PhD. thesisr: Vilém Novotný English abstract This PhD. thesis deals with an issue of study of public policy which is considered to be a specific subdiscipline of political sciences. The study of public policy encompasses all approaches that are engaged in research of public policy. In the issue of public policy study is attention focused, in explorative way, on development of public policy study. This aim is pursued from moderate constructivist positions at two levels. At the first, theoretical, level, it is interested in question how to study the development of public policy study. It attempts to formulate general analytical frame which could be used as a comparative grid as well. Its main reference framework is represented by Peter deLeon's model of advice and consent (supply and demand model) (deLeon, 1988) and model devised for an analysis of Canadian political science development by John Trent and Michael Stein (Trent, 1987; Trent, Stein, 2002; Stein, 1998). Political Systems of Malaysia and Singapore Through the Prism of Hybrid Regime Theory

This graduate thesis comparatively analyzes key features of political systems of Malaysia and Singapore using the chosen concepts of hybrid regimes theory. In the first part, main conceptualizations of this theory are presented to be later critically assessed. What follows is a thorough comparative analysis of political systems of the countries in question using the concept of "chain of democratic choice" introduced by Andreas Schedler as a framework for analysis. Subsequently, operationalized concept of competitive authoritarianism by Steven Levitsky and Lucan Way is applied. The outcome of the analysis is the classification of Malaysia as competitive authoritarian while Singapore is classified as a case of hegemonic electoral authoritarian regime. As far as theory is concerned, the thesis argues that although hybrid regimes themselves cannot provide for a unique mid-range regime type, some concepts connected to the paradigm offer an appropriate tool for the study of nondemocratic regimes.

A Comparative Analysis of Foreign News in the Main News Sessions of TV Stations ČT 1, Nova and Prima in 2010

Diploma thesis "A Comparative Analysis of Foreign News in the Main News Sessions of TV Stations ČT1, TV Nova and Prima TV in 2010" studies the way of producing foreign news by Czech TV stations in the year 2010. Also, it focuses on the question which countries were mentioned. The introductory part discusses the Czech and foreign literature and offers the overview of TV news production, international flow of communication and factors which influences the production of foreign news. It also introduces the main news sessions Události, Televizní noviny and Zprávy TV Prima. The analysis of foreign news service is divided into two parts, first inquires into differences in used types of reports, their representation in the main news sessions, the topical structure and other characteristics connected with the production of news. Then, the second part concentrates on the states which were mentioned in the foreign news and focuses on the impacts influencing the production of foreign news by the Czech TV stations. For both parts of the analysis methods of quantitative research were used. The thesis also studies the differences between the main news sessions of private TV channels TV Nova and Prima TV and ČT1 which offer public service broadcasting. Impacts of 2016 VAT cut on selected groceries in Slovakia

The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze the impact of the reduction of VAT on selected groceries in Slovakia in 2016. I am comparing the composition of the consumer basket and shopping lists of end-consumers before this legislative amendment and thereafter and consumer preferences, on which products they would like to have reduced VAT rate. Then I am also analysing the impact on the consumer prices of groceries with recured tax rate and on the groceries, which composition is similar, but they are encumbered with standard tax rate. The comparative analysis has shown that the tax reduction is reflected in the final price of approximately 96 %. The theoretical part deals with the characteristics and the system of value added tax, historical development in Slovak law and impacts of the tax rate cut abroad. Conclusion interprets the results of comparative analysis and questionnaire.

Analysis of the Czech and Spanish (Colombia) "Health Care" Terminology

The aim of this Bachelor Thesis is to give the reader an idea about the health care system in Colombia and about the appropriate institutions and afterwards particularly evaluate the extent of similarities and differences among them and corresponding Czech institutions. In the theoretical part an issue of conversion or translation of terms from source to the target language is outlined. In other chapters the health care system in the Czech Republic is briefly introduced as well as further detailed description of the Colombian health care system. Also, the reader is familiarized with the institutions to which the practical part of the thesis is dedicated to. This part is focused on the comparative analysis of selected Colombian and Czech institutions participating in the healthcare system. The thesis also contains bilingual glossaries and a summary in Spanish.

Evaluation design of civil airports effectivity indices

Introductory part of this thesis concludes the development of air traffic, division of airports in the Czech Republic according to the Ministry of Transport, according to the Law on Civil Aviation and according to the Coding of the airports (Requirement L 14). The aim was to realize theoretical definition and division of output and economic indicators. After that comes choice of appropriate airports from the European Union. The choice has been made on the basis of the number of check-in passengers at the airport in Prague-Ruzyně. Eight most suitable airports have been chosen from all twenty-seven member countries of the EU. The following step is comparative analysis of these chosen airports on the basis of specified output and economic indicators for the years 2005-2009. The year 2010 has not been included, because the chosen airports did not complete their annual reports, balances and statements of profit and loss. From these sources the values for calculation of individual indicators have been chosen. These indicators have been shown in charts, evaluated by means of graphs in Excel Programme and further they have been characterized in words. The aim of the thesis was also the evaluation and comparison of output and economic indicators of effectiveness and after evaluation, proposal of methods of evaluations has followed.

The thesis aims to describe the selection of a new information system, which should lead to process streamlining and a boost in the number of customers at Rumburak s.r.o. The first chapter lays out the theoretical knowledge needed to tackle the task at hand. The following section analyzes the internal and external environment of the company and the implications thereof. The proposal portion contains a comparison of the available information systems and selects the best among them. It develops a schedule for the implementation of the new IS, along with identifying the benefits and economic evaluation of the entire proposal.

Comparison of labor taxation in selected countries of the OECD (Visegrad 4 and Germany)

This final thesis deals with comparison of labor taxation in selected countries of the European Union: countries of Visegrad 4 and Germany. One of the essential goals was to find labor taxation for determined income levels and comparison of total labor taxation between selected countries. Next goal was to implement elements of most optimized labor taxation to Czech tax system. The first two chapters represent description of labor taxation: of personal income tax and social contributions in selected countries. Third chapter analyzes labor taxation for determined levels of income for every each country. Fourth chapter deals with the comparison of the labor taxation between selected countries and reflects differences of tax systems. Last fifth chapter analyses implementation of labor taxation elements of other examined country to the Czech tax system.
