The Specifics of Nurse´s work on a Psychiatric Ward
HŘEBEJKOVÁ, Blanka
Theoretical background Psychiatry belongs to fundamental branches of medicine. Its task consists of diagnostics, treatment and prevention of mental diseases. Psychiatry includes adult psychiatry, child psychiatry and adolescent psychiatry, gerontopsychiatry, psychiatric addictology, psychiatric sexulogy with psychiatric rehabilitation. Nowadays, importance of the psychiatric branch is increasing; according to epidemiologists, we can see a slightly upward trend in the number of psychiatric patients. Work of a nurse in the department of psychiatry differs considerably from work in other standard departments. Such work is demanding both physically and mentally. In the department of psychiatry, it is extremely necessary that the nurse builds up a close relationship with the patient and acquires their confidence. Goals of the thesis The goal of the thesis was to map differences relating to work of a nurse working in the department of psychiatry, to find out what communication skills a nurse working in the department of psychiatry must have and in addition, to find out what the possibilities of further education within the framework of life-long education for nurses working in the branch of psychiatry are available. Methodology The qualitative methodology was applied to the research. The data were obtained by the interview method. Prior to execution of the research as such, the staff nurse was asked for permission and she agreed with execution of the research concerned. In cooperation with the charge nurse and the head nurse of the department of psychiatry, seven interviews with the nurses were made. The interview consisted of twelve questions and was absolutely anonymous. The written records of the interviews were analysed and the results were divided into categories and sub-categories subsequently. Results Based on the research, it was discovered that work of nurses in the department of psychiatry is much different from work thereof in other departments. The nurse working here should be interested in the field and should have good knowledge of the psychiatry-related issues. The nurse working in the department of psychiatry should be competent, resourceful and should be well informed of the patients to be able to perceive early possible changes in their behaviour. In the psychiatric nursing care it is important in particular to communicate correctly with various types of patients. Therefore, it is vital for the nurse to be well versed in mental diseases and symptoms thereof. Behaviour, perception and communication of the psychiatric patient are often affected by the disease as such. There are various communication barriers which the nurse has to cope with. Therefore, the nurse should be able to use all components of verbal as well as non-verbal communication correctly. Preparation for incidents consists of in particular regular training in the area of occupational safety and protection of health at work, fire protection and study of methodological guidelines and standards of the department of psychiatry. Certain preparation for incidents is included as well. There are sufficient possibilities of further education in psychiatric nursing care available. As it followed from the research, the nurses show active interest in education and search therefor independently. The nurses are sufficiently supported by their superiors in the search for suitable educational projects. Conclusion Considering the overall view of the thesis results, it is possible to say that the research questions were answered and the set goals of this thesis were achieved. The results of this bachelor's thesis may serve as supporting source material for lectures on nursing care in departments of psychiatry. In addition, the thesis may serve students as study and source material for their own studies and work.

Hazards of HIV, What Know About Them the Secondery Young People in Česká Třebová
Záleská, Lenka ; Bernard, Josef (advisor) ; Urbánková, Olga (referee)
This thesis treats of the HIV virus and its hazards. It is composed of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with the HIV virus, it clears up the history of its discovery and the ways of transmission. It also describes the development and classification of the HIV infection, makes clear the possibilities of therapeutics and emphasizes prevention. As one of the possibilities of prevention the peer education in the sphere of HIV/AIDS prevention is mentioned here. In the practical part the questionnaire is analysed which was filled in by students of the second and third years of several secondary schools in Česká Třebová. By means of the questionnaire it was found out how the students are informed of the HIV virus, if they know how to protect themselves from it, where they get information and who they would turn on if they wanted to learn something about the virus. Another point of research was to find out if the obtained knowledge is somehow reflected in the common life of the interviewed people and if they feel to be threatened by the virus. My aim was also to find out the students' opinions on some specific situations which are concerned with HIV, like for example having one-night affairs or taking drugs. The Financial Literacy of Senior Citizens
KOCANDOVÁ, Soňa
This bachelor thesis focuses on the elderly and their financial literacy. This thesis is divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines actual knowledge about this theme and is divided into two chapters an introduction to issues about ageing and financial literacy. The author talks about seniors, demographic situation of ageing, forms of living, secured retirement in old age and financial literacy. The author also paid attention to presentations of products. The practical part includes the actual implementation of research and interpretation of the data is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the work and objectives of the research questions. The aim is to map the awareness of seniors in the effective management of their finances. The author also set partial research questions and the main research question is whether seniors are aware of their financial security. The second chapter researches methodology, which includes a qualitative research method of semi-structured interviews. The interviews are divided into three fields. The first is introductory information, the second field is financial literacy and the last field is presentations of products. The research methodology also characterizes the surveyed group, which consists of ten respondents over sixty five years old and lives in the Trebon region. In the third and the most extensive chapter there are the results and data. The elderly mostly answered in a different way however in some ways they agreed. The last chapter evaluates results and draws the author´s opinion. It has been found out that respondents have diverse interests and hobbies in retirement and they participate in them very actively. The income of the respondents is satisfactory to those who live in a household of two members. The financial situation has been described as good as well as average. Fifty percent of the respondents have experience with credit and only two of them create the budgets. The last set of questions was about demonstrations of goods and majority of the respondents have some experience with them. The last chapter is the conclusion which summarizes the information obtained. The main research question is whether seniors are aware of their financial security and the results show that all respondents have an over view of their finances. The elderly people orientate themselves well in money matters and they can optimally manage their money. They are vigilant in connection with credit and loans. They rather save money and they say that they do not buy anything when they do not have money. It is good that they are informed and can thus better resist the pitfalls that exist in this world, whether we like it or not. This thesis might be useful in practice for the elderly who want to try to draw up the budget. It can make a contribution to higher awareness about dangers of presentations of products.

Primary School Teacher - the Relationship Between Theory and Practice in the Professional Training
Urbanová, Radka ; Štech, Stanislav (advisor) ; Smetáčková, Irena (referee)
This work deals with permanent and yet actual subject of the relationship of theory and practise in education of teachers. The main subject is connected closely to professional identity of primary school teachers, as well. First of all, the theoretical part of this work focuses on the relationship of theory and practise. It's based on works of both Czech and foreign authors, specifically German and Swiss ones. Because there are different systems of teacher-preparation in these countries, the view on theory-practise relationship is different in many points, as well. Theoretical part is divided into five chapters. First one presents primary school teacher and shows his typical features which differentiate him from teachers in another levels of education. The second chapter describes a concept of pedagogical education of teachers. The third chapter deals with how differently may concept "practise" be percieved in context of their mutual relationship. The fourth chapter describes the relationship of theory and practise in pedagogy and the last, fifth one is the most comprehensive one and is further divided into three chapters.

Necessity of leisure time centre for seniors and volunteer potentialities

Variability of the high jump technique
Valek, Miloš ; Vindušková, Jitka (advisor) ; Krátký, Petr (referee)
Variability of Technique in High Jump Thesis objectives: The main aim of my thesis is to find out the way how the technique in specific training methods of high jump, which are full runup jumps with different directions of the coach, are changing. The next aim is to evaluate acquired kinematic parameters for each high jumper, compare the results and find defects in technique of V. Urban and V. Hojka. Method: Kinematic 3D analysis was used for the study of techniques in specific training methods. Watched spatio-temporal events were recorded on digital cameras. The record was sequentially converted to eligible digital format and processed with APAS computer programme. The output data (partially processed in Microsoft Excel) were gained in APAS programme. Results: The influence of specific training methods of high jump mentioned above was achieved. The parallel results out of 35 watched kinematic parameters became evident in 24 kinetic parameters. The athlete L. Urban inclines to "power" flop, while L. Hojka's technique can be described as speed jumping.

The role of ATM in breast cancer
Soukupová, Jana ; Pohlreich, Petr (advisor) ; Souček, Pavel (referee) ; Foretová, Lenka (referee)
Incidence of breast cancer is continuously increasing in the Czech Republic. Tumor development is a result of gene alterations'accumulation, particulary associated with genes involved in regulation of cell growth and division. Hereditary carcinomas account for approximately 5-10% of all breast tumors and in 60-80% cases are caused by a germline mutation in the major predisposition genes BRCA1 and BRCA2. Nevertheless, other genes, mostly of lower penetrance, may play a role in breast pathogenesis such as the ATM tumor-suppressor gene. ATM is the apex of the repair pathway of DSB. This protein kinase activates through phosphorylation of its substrates cell cycle checkpoints, which leads either to the delay of the cell cycle progression until DSB are repaired or to the promotion of apoptosis. To sum up, the ATM gene seems to have a role in breast cancer development in a minority of the high-risk families in our population which is significantly lower compared to BRCA1/2 and it also seems to be involved in pathogenesis of sporadic breast cancer. Despite the ATM gene's length, we do not perform the preventive screening of this gene in breast cancer high-risk families. Nevertheless, we offer the molecular diagnostics of ATM to ataxia telangiectasia patients.

Enterohepatic circulation of bilirubin
Zelenka, Jaroslav ; Vítek, Libor (advisor) ; Entlicher, Gustav (referee) ; Červinková, Zuzana (referee)
Bilirubin is a main physiological product of heme degradation possessing important antioxidant and antiinflammatory properties. On the other hand, it could be neurotoxic during severe unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia combined with insufficiency of blood-brain barrier (neonatal jaundice). It is secreted from the body via bile and is further metabolized in the intestine. Part of the substance is reduced to urobilinoids, part is adsorbed to the intestinal content and some part could be reabsorbed back to the systemic circulation. This enterohepatically and enterosystemically circulating fraction varies in size depending on the rate of bilirubin secretion, solubility in the intestine and intensity of its intestinal metabolism. Under specific circumstances, EHC and ESC may significantly increase serum and bile bilirubin levels and influence physiological as well as pathological processes occuring in the body. Among the most important is the protective elevation of UCB levels in Gilbert syndrome subjects and dangerous increase in severity of neonatal jaundice. In the presented thesis, the mechanisms affecting EHC and ESC of bilirubin and tools for further research in BP metabolism were investigated. The solubility of intestinal UCB is strongly decreased by addition of divalent cations. However, such approach to...

Molecular factors of artherogenesis in chronic kidney disease with experimental model of chronic inhibition of Nitric Oxide Synthesis and its Effect of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitoin
Lecian, Dalibor ; Matouš, Bohuslav (advisor) ; Tesař, Vladimír (referee) ; Zadražil, Josef (referee)
The experimental part of the thesis covered the markers involved in nitric oxide deficiency model in rats. The analogue of arginine N-nitro- L -arginine-methyl ester ( L -NAME) was used. L -NAME administration resulted in sustained elevation of BP, decreased GFR, and in higher albuminuria compared to control animals. The administration of hypolipidemic drug - atorvastatin to Wistar rats was studied. The statin used caused lower albuminuria and prevented decreases in GFR in L -NAME rats without having an impact on hypertension. CAV1 protein expression was similar in all groups of rats. In contrast, VEGF expression and RhoA activity was increased in L -NAME-treated animals, and normalized with coadministration of atorvastatin. Clinical part of the thesis focused on the analysis of markers of oxidative stress in obese and non-obese patients with CKD and after kidney transplantation. The patients with CKD had elevated serum concentrations of AGEs, sRAGE and ADMA with the maximal concentrations of AGEs in the patients on hemodialysis. The successful kidney transplantation decreases the AGEs, sRAGE and ADMA concentrations but not to normal value according to general population. Patients with obesity exhibited lower concentrations of sRAGE in CKD as a protective factor for cardiovascular disease. Concentrations of...
